After driving by here a half a dozen times we pulled in yesterday. A very nondescript sign IRISH BEER was enough to lure me in. A pretty small place, four/five tables tops no frills. They also have a small bar that seats six people. At the time they were offering 6 beers on tap. For $7 you can get a flight of four beers, or all six for $11. The girl working was very friendly and chatted us up while we sat at the bar. You can see through a glass door into the operations, we did not experience the tour. While we were there they had live Irish music which was a nice touch. We grabbed a couple different beers to bring home. We will certainly be back when we are in the area.

We bought a "tour" on Groupon. No tour took place...just some samplers and a souvenir sampler glass. Service was poor. Although the bartender seemed quite knowledgeable, we had to ask for everything and she never checked in with us. The chicken "tenders" were disgusting and looked and tasted like fish sticks. The website indicates live music Sunday afternoon, but there was none. The bartender seemed to be paid for hanging out with her friends. I don't plan to return.

We arrived there a few minutes after they opened and it looked the the only lady that was working arrived at opening time, other customers were taking the chairs off the tables. We got two flights of all 6 of their beers and the bartender brought them over very quickly with a quick explanation of the drinks, it was very nice.
Then 3 microbrewery tour buses arrived which filled up the small space. At this point getting any service was not possible, only one person working with about 40 customers. We said we were also there for a tour, which we made a reservation for, but knew that wasn't going to happen.
They had a good variety for the 6 that they had. They use some very unique flavors in their beers which was fun to try. Not all were that good, but I appreciate the ambitiousness of trying something new.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We had a Groupon to come here for a tour, beer sampler, and souvenir glass. Upon pulling up to the business, my husband and I were a little disappointed. We expected a dedicated, larger building. Something that looked like a brewery. Now, I don't know how to explain when a building looks sufficiently like a brewery from the outside, but this wasn't it. This is just an "Irish Brewery" slot in a nondescript shopping plaza. We headed in anyways, and I'm so glad we did. We were lucky enough to randomly come on a Saturday afternoon when they had live Irish music, so that was our greeting upon entering. Just a group of musicians casually sitting around a table, playing music that they clearly enjoyed. It was very welcoming. The bartender explained the beers on tap for us, and we each selected our 4 samples. I recommend doing this, as each beer was really unique. It was a real treat getting to try things like "Buffalo" beer, or "Bom". I wouldn't have selected either as my only choice, but they were a lot of fun to drink in the sampler, and I realized that I'd have missed out on one I actually liked otherwise. And you get a pretty good amount of beer with the sampler too, FYI. It's no small amount ;). After our samples, a small group of us were taken in back to learn about how they brew their beers. It's very small-scale, which is why they're able to fit in that little shopping plaza. But it's also why they're able to create such yummy, unique brews! The bartender was fabulous, very friendly and knowledgeable, and we just had a great time overall. My husband and I both agreed that we wished we lived local, because this is exactly the kind of atmosphere and product that we're looking for when we want to go out. My only, very small, issue is with how small it is bar and table wise. It seems like it would be hard to come here with a group of people, as the public area is quite small. Don't let that stop you from coming in though.

This place is great! Don't mistake the outside sign that says "Irish Brewery" for something else, this is that place. The beers were super smooth and had some pretty unique flavors thrown in. We got a set of flights and my girlfriend who dislikes beer in general tried each one and she liked every single one. The bartender was polite and made good conversation as well. I think this place needs some more advertising especially for how good it is. It's also priced fair.

This was a wonderful stop and definately worth the trip. We were heading to the area for the day and saw this brewery and decided that we would try it. The atmosphere is great and the service is both friendly and great. Not much from the outside but the inside and the beer make up for that. The owner is very friendly and the beers we tried were wonderful, tastings are available as well as pints. We tried cake by the ocean and the O'Sullivan stout. Both were wonderful. This quaint brewery is on our "A" list and it was well worth the drive. We will be back!!!!

this place was the first stop for my boyfriend and i on a bit of a brewery tour yesterday.
other reviewers are correct in that "nano" is the way to describe it. it's quite small (seating for 30 or so, max), and there isn't even any outdoor signage to indicate that the space is actually beara- it literally just says "irish beer."
upon entrance, we found it to be rather hopping around 2pm on a saturday. there is a bar area, card tables, and then a little rail. the only space available was part of the rail, so that was where we settled in. we got a sampler paddle to share, which is probably what you want to do if you are visiting multiple breweries. we were most excited about the maple ale, but found it was really lacking in flavor. in fact, most of the beers were. the only one that really hit home for us was the double IPA, devil. we ended up getting a bomber of that, but didn't like anything else enough to spend the money.
i liked that pretzels and water were provided upon request, and other reviewers are correct that there are multiple restaurants right in the same plaza, should you need to fuel up or relax after imbibing. the ambiance was pretty jovial, and the live irish music only contributed. i think, however, the patrons who were all standing when we left (a good 8 or so) probably would have appreciated the table the musicians were occupying.
all in all, this place does appear to be very popular, and may actually be outgrowing the tiny, charming spot it currently occupies. if you're in the area, it's worth a try.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - A P.Minneapolis, MN0191Aug 17, 2015First to Review
Nano is the perfect word to describe this brewery. It is easy to miss as you're driving, but it is well worth the search. Their specialty is beers brewed with Irish barley. 2 beers use locally sourced ingredients (the honey brown and the maple wheat). The owner and brew master Michael was working the taproom, which made the experience all the more interesting. He was incredibly friendly and happy to chat and discuss his methods. Highly recommend!

Stopped in on a whim and was so grateful for the time spent. Beer selections were explained, tasted, reviewed, fantastic as pleased the ale drinker and the stout drinker.
Took some stout home to enjoy with friends. Will return here often, hope to see you there.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Elizabeth H.Amherst, MA1434Apr 19, 2016
From the outside, the bare-bones "Irish Brewery" sign in the commercial plaza gives you the impression of a pizza place or laundromat. The inside is not that impressive either: there is a small bar and a few tables and chairs. Nevertheless this brewery is definitely worth going to if you like beer. Keep in mind that this brewery has not been around very long. Me and my friend did a Groupon deal and tried all six of the beers on tap. Often it is the case that at least one of the beers on tap makes you gag a bit; alternatively the beers could be so bland that you mistake one beer for another. The beers at Beara, however, were all distinct and all tasty. After the tasting, I ultimately got something OTHER than an IPA, which is a rarity for me. The beers were slightly on the pricey side, but when you take into consideration the quantity/quality of the ingredients (imported from Ireland) it makes sense. On another note, the owner is very nice to talk to. From his brew set-up, you can tell that he is an extremely hard-working and resourceful individual. Definitely try this place!
