Q:
What time do they close? It says midnight on yelp but they won't answer my phone call and it's only 10:32 pm?
A:
They close at midnight during the week and 1 Friday and Saturdays. They frequently have bands playing and are usually very packed, so it may be difficult for them to hear the phone ringing. That could be why you're not getting an answer.

Great place with an awesome concept! Being able to pick your beverage and try by ounce was a fun experience. Boyfriend wished they had more stouts and porters with a higher ABV as he finds the flavor is better. The one he was eyeing online the tap number was dark. :(
The food though was the star! Very good and unexpected for the place. Everything we tried was great and we would go back for the food for sure. The items were unique and not things you see everywhere!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 4, 2020
Pretty cool spot to stop by if you are looking to try some different alcohols! The pour your own beer idea is great for anyone who wants to be adventurous without having to buy a full pour of a beer they don't know anything about. Pretty good selection of different types, so you can probably find a couple in a style that you prefer, and then go try something else!
Food was okay but not quite worth the money if you are just coming for the food, but you are here for the beer! I got the Californian Cuban, decent quality but nothing really standing out. The fried pickles had paper at bottom of cup to make it look fuller, and dipping sauce container was too small to dip properly which didn't make sense. Once again though, here for the beer!
Give this place a try if you want to expand your beer palette!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ashley W.Phoenix, AZ612115Jul 28, 2021
Had a wonderful experience here last night. We were looking for a place to get a beer and a burger, that was also dog friendly. We walked by a couple of other places at first and before deciding to go to Barrel Republic.
Upon walking in you're greeted by the host and given bracelets, a lowdown of how things work and open a tab. Thankfully they have non-alcoholic options as well since I'm 8 months pregnant (kombucha, craft soda, iced tea and cold brew).
Since we went on a Tuesday they also had trivia going, which was fun. Sadly we were too late to join, but I'm confident we would've kicked butt.
My husband sampled a number of the beers, and we split an order of wings and a burger. Everything we had was yummy and the service and ambiance of the place was great.
We'll definitely stop by again the next time we're in Oceanside.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 2, 2018
Full disclosure: Review is for everything but the food. We came just after lunch and just didn't have enough room for any more solids.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this concept. I have commitmentphobia when it comes to beer. I can love something when I drink a little bit of it somewhere but somehow when I have it somewhere else, it just doesn't taste the same. So while I enjoy beer, I don't have many favorites. This place was like my dream come true.
With their pour-as-much-or-little as you want system, I was able to cobble together a nice Saturday noontime buzz consisting of about 10-12 different brews. Some were memorable (Battlehorn of Gondor for its name and the Lost Coast Watermelon Wheat for it's hubba bubba flavor) and some were good while we were there.
Ashley, who got us our bracelets, was super nice when she explained the system to us. The other folks who worked the place were also very friendly, offering random suggestions and being very fastidious about getting empty glasses out of our way to make room for more.
So if you love beer, come here. If you have a fear of commitment, also come here and live it up. Definitely a great place to waste a day if you're not careful.
Cheers!Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Jan 16, 2018
I really liked this place but It is on the smaller side and it gets packed!
The first thing I look at when folks want to get together is the menu. That will pretty much determine if I eat before, or suddenly come up with a cold.
They have Vegan food! Not a lot of options but they have it and it's good!
My husband ordered the "Vegan Wild Mushroom French Dip" with fries and he was amazed. I ordered the "Spicy Udon Noodle Salad" and while it wasn't spicy, it was still really good!
They have a bunch of beers (obvi), a small selection of wine, a few ciders and ga damnit, they have Kombucha!
I like the whole concept. You get a bracelet, you tap the sign and you pour as much or as little as you want and on to the next!
I would love to visit again but maybe during the week and def during the day hahaHelpful 13Thanks 0Love this 21Oh no 0 - 7251178Feb 1, 2020
Second visit here and the place seems to be going downhill. The table were very sticky and the ground was as well. Seems like a thorough cleaning is in order. The staff member who helped us check in also smelled like he hadn't bathed in some time, not the best first impression for someone handles food.
Doubtful i will be returning even though I really like the conceptHelpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 30315084492Nov 15, 2017
Fun and dangerous. Those are the two words I'd use to describe Barrel Republic.
This was our final stop on dad's 70th birthday brewery crawl. I honestly didn't think we'd make it this far, given the fact that after our third stop, most of our group started griping about being tired and full. Babies.
I'm glad we chose Barrel Republic as our final destination, though. The concept was different enough to bring my crybaby family members out of their stupor long enough to sample and enjoy.
The two girls working the front that day were friendly and get bonus points for dealing with my mess of a family - explaining everything six times over, answering questions and charging our groups separately. I swear *I* wanted to kick my family out by then, but they were the perfectly helpful.
Honestly, this stop is a bit of a blur. The only reason I remember some of it is because my friend (who was with us that day to act as our personal paparazzi) took loads of pictures, which he promptly shared with me.
I know there was a bracelet...and a table. And booze. Lots of booze. Lots and lots of booze.
(That's where the "dangerous" comes in, in case you missed that...)
It certainly is easy to lose track of what you've poured, and what you'll end up owing. But the sheer amount of choice and variety, plus the chance to make pretend you're a bartender make this a must-stop. And maybe one day we'll actually try their food.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 98614267138Oct 3, 2017
Pretty good place to hang out! I assume it's like the one in Carlsbad that just opened. The only thing is this area isn't as nice. You might run into some harmless homeless from your car to the restaurant and parking can be hard to find.
If you don't know what this is about, it's a place where they give you a wristband and you scan it to pour your own drink, from beer to wine to special soda and tea. It's a fun concept. Don't plan to get wasted here though because once you hit a certain volume cap they require you to renew your wristband with the staff to make sure you're coherent enough to get more booze.
Surprisingly they have a vegan mushroom flatbread, not bad! But it'd be nice to make a vegetarian version too with real cheese... Bacon popcorn was addicting and was done very soon among the group. Their special tea was delicious and the strawberry soda was good too although some of us disliked it. But who else other than me comes here to drink tea and soda!? Sorry I can't comment on their beer here but I'm sure you can find one that suits your taste.
Overall, pas mal! Not bad!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 1224613924Mar 29, 2019Updated review
3 stars for the self-serve beer the rest is just as 000. I'm a little disappointed specially about the food. The salmon wrap is very salty while the hamburger is is very bland. I believe they charge by the ounce for all the self-serve tap beers. You must leave your credit card as a good faith deposit upfront to get started on all your beers. The customer through this it's just all right I don't really do much for you except when your food out and clean it up you must get all your water yourself and there is not much of a non-alcoholic drinks except for Ice-Teas. ( the iced teas are pretty good) The prices of the food are a bit over price for the taste. Ekkk . Although the restaurant decorand concept is great I don't think I'll be back here
