Bar Louie

Bar Louie in downtown Naperville was never more than just a place to get a drink. Often, the bar was too busy to even think about ordering food. But recently, I attended a birthday party here. We had a large table for 12 and we ordered food (and of course, drinks).

To my surprise, the food was pretty good! I got a spicy chicken sandwich with pickles and some tater tots on the side. It was delicious! Much more than I expected. Our waitress was very nice, and the bar was much less crowded compared to what I've seen before. Don't sleep on their food! Will definitely try to eat here again.

Came here on Black Friday after the lunch rush, so it was pretty quiet. Until...
A family with a tiny child came in and sat themselves beside our table. Now, this place has a seat-yourself policy, so it wasn't like the hostess had inflicted this upon us. But the place was 90% empty at about 2:30 in the afternoon. And when the baby proceeded to scream its head off for the second half of our meal, no one (parents or restaurant) did anything about it. Why are you bringing a baby to a bar, anyway? McDonald's is calling you...

The food was ok. My dad had a burger and i had the mac and cheese. Staff friendly though moving at a leisurely pace. But the whole meal was soured by the screamer who sat on top of us for no good reason. Wouldn't rush back for fear of a repeat performance.

Was okay music was just a bit too loud. The selection could have been better be too as far as the music goes. I has the chicken street tacos. A bit too spicy for my preference. The place was clean and not crowded. Our waitress handed us our check prior to bringing our food though. Now that was odd.

My friends and I decided on Bar Louie for old times sake (mainly due to the fact that Empire down the street was packed) yesterday evening after a long day of work.

Our initial impression going back to our old stomping grounds was subpar to say the least. We had to hunt someone down to seat us even though it was not busy, and another guest had to point out an employee for us to flag down.

We ordered the Trio Chip & Dip appetizer with the Chocolate Cake per our server's recommendation to split. The app and dessert were good enough considering we had just eaten a fairly large dinner at another restaurant. Chocolate Cake dessert was definitely a good choice as the cake piece was enormous and great to share with 3 people.

My friends ordered beers, and about a quarter into the beer, one of my friends felt like they had swallowed a small piece of glass. We checked the glass and sure enough, there was a noticeable crack in it. Considering the fact that our server came to check on us once and was busy receiving a neck massage from her coworker, we had to look for someone to flag down once again.

Though they took off the initial beer with the cracked glass off our bill, there was barely an apology, and better yet, the server who brought us a new one cracked some kind of corny joke about the whole situation. Granted, he was probably trying to make light of it all, yet we were the least bit amused.

Needless to say, we won't be going back to this particular Bar Louie location.

They play very loud popular music. There's a small dance floor near the back. The drinks are pretty tasty. Mango margarita is of course pretty good. I also tried the strawberry peach bellini martini - very sweet.
For the food - amazing spinach artichoke dip. One of the best I've had.

I like to go on Tuesday's for their happy hour. The martinis are great! Each one has a unique flavor and they're all so different. Great appetizer prices as well. Comfortable outside patio, great for people watching in Naperville.

Years ago my first date was at Bar Louie with my first love. We broke up and for years I couldn't step in to a Bar Louie, even with the delicious basil or gin or cucumber martini (I forget exactly what it was). Now, I have gone back to the one in Naperville. I am so thankful for the server Emily (tall with dark hair) reminded me why I love Bar Louie. Her service was kind and quick and the food / drinks were a treat. I will be back.

We went here last night. The service was great!! That was refreshing. They have a really good menu and a great cocktail list! I enjoyed the Diva Martini, the Honeydew Martini, and the 90 Miles to Florida Martini. The Honeydew Martini was the best so had to have 2!! Definitely recommend it!

I ordered the Pear and Blue Cheese Salad. It was delicious! I love salads! We also split the Calamari Appetizer and it was pretty good. I've had better but I've also had ALOT worse!

The others at the table enjoyed the Buffalo Chicken Flatbread. I didn't try any but it looked great and I'm sure it was good as well.

I love bar louie! It's my favorite spot for a quick bite to eat or to spend all night with friends. On the weekends they have a DJ that's better than a lot of the other bars in the area. There's a bigger dance floor than other bars as well, if you're into that. I recently saw they started a brunch menu for Sunday morning/early afternoon. Just an all around great place: great staff, great food, music, the games always on and if it's not they will put it on. Overall just a great way to spend your night!

Great place to chill, have some drinks and grab a bite. Thier cocktails are pretty small but can't go wooing with their drafts. If you do, go for the talls, 12 oz in a short and 20 in a tall, with only 1 dollar difference.

Their appetizers and entrees are big, so I think an appetizer can take serve as enough for a meal. The boneless chicken wings are pretty good, juicy and the spicyness level was just right. Also got a basket of fries but they were pretty average, not sure they were worth the five bucks.

The space is really big and booths are private. Overall a pretty chill place if you want to talk and get a drink!
