Q:
You sell any non alcoholic wine/spirits esp as we head towards Dry January as looking to moderate, but like drinking a wine or cocktail without the alc with my meal? In particular a German non alc wine called Leitz and their Riesling?
A:
H, Thank you for asking about our non alcoholic options. We have a tea tasting and some n/a beverages available to pair with the food.

I loved the set up of this restaurant. Everyone has a great view of the kitchen. It's like watching an orchestra perform, amazing! My favorite part of this dinner was the temperance tasting. I wish it wasn't going to be removed...sad for non drinkers like myself. Don't get me wrong I love a good wine tasting, however, there are some days I don't feel like having a drink and the temperance tasting was perfect. Dishes were really great as well. One of my favorites was the Wagyu dish, really delicious and tender. Would recommend and come back!

Late review, as I dined here back in October of last year.
This place is my all time favorite restaurant in NYC so far. Great wine list. Each course for dinner was exciting, unique, beautifully plated, and felt inspired.
Service was incredible. I felt like they could read my mind. I didn't have to ask for anything.
100% will be back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 8, 2024
This place was so good! I'd never been to a Michelin Star restaurant before, but my boyfriend and I were visiting New York and decided to give it a try. So glad we did!
We arrived slightly early and were greeted at the door and shown our way in. It's definitely an unsuspecting location, but that was part of the fun! We were seated at a U-shaped table that looked into the kitchen. There were 4 chefs and a sommelier that greeted us. My friend chose to have the wine pairing but I stuck to water. I did mark on the survey that was sent to us that it was our anniversary but there was not mention of it dinner... maybe they don't do anything on anniversaries but I think it's strange that they would have that as an option and not do anything.
The service was AMAZING. The servers and sommelier were so attentive and even folded my napkin for me when I was in the bathroom. During the main course we also spilled some sauce on our place mats and they were very quick to wipe it up.
Each dish was served to us by one of the chefs and they explained what we were eating. There were 11 total and mg favorites were the king crab, scallop, wagyu, and passion fruit. I personally didn't love the squab, but that's just my personal taste and it seemed like others really enjoyed it. We finished the dinner with a pour over coffee that they made directly in front of us and was so delicious. My only complaint is that all the desserts were fruity and I wished there had been something more savory.
If you're thinking about coming, do!! We loved our time here and hope to come again when we're in the city.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 15, 2024
As a Michelin-starred restaurant, Atera sets the bar high and it undoubtedly exceeds expectations in every aspect. It definitely has to be one of my top five dining experiences EVER ! I had made reservations not too long before the trip but was fortunate enough to grab one for an evening I preferred . What i also like is the fact that they let you cancel at least 24 hours in advance which a lot of other similar restaurants didn't allow . From the moment you step in , you're transported into a world of culinary artistry and innovation. The sleek and modern décor is both minimalist and a little understated and lets the food take center stage. However is far from being minimal -from ushering you in to seeing you off every detail is meticulously curated to enhance the overall experience. I had opted for the U shaped communal seating as that gets you the view to the kitchen .Additionally there is also a high top seating right behind the counter. The menu at Atera is a testament to creativity and craftsmanship, showcasing seasonal and locally sourced ingredients. Each dish is a work of art, thoughtfully plated and bursting with flavor, textures, and aromas. With the multiple courses its hard to pick what was my favorite but if I had to the cavier custard would come on top. For me the whole meal was such a beautiful play on textures.. things just taste and felt different than how you perceive when you first see them being presented. The service is impeccable, with a team of attentive and knowledgeable staff who guide you through the dining experience . I had decided to not get wine pairing but in hindsight I feel it would have elevated the experience a notch further. We did get a bottle of red and then a few glasses in between and everything paired very well with the food . Overall, Atera is a culinary destination like no other, where art and innovation converge to create a dining experience that transcends the ordinary. For people looking for an unforgettable dining experience Atera is an absolute must-visit.

Had an amazing experience at Atera last night; I had been wanting to dine here for years and I finally took the plunge, and boy am I glad that I did!
Every single course was intricate in plating as well as taste, with a few absolute standouts in the crab ravioli and squab dishes, as well as the grapefruit ice cream dessert.
Service was of course impeccable as to be expected of such an establishment. A chef patiently explained each course as it was presented, and our water glasses and tea cups (for a non alchoholic beverage) were always filled!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Joe Joe B.Brooklyn, NY121322418Jan 21, 2024
This two star Michelin joint in Manhattan has all the makings of being an all star, but slightly misses the mark. The location is interesting. Tucked inside the lobby of a medical building hides this beautiful space. A total nod to old New York. Super romantic! The staff is attentive and very helpful. The wine list is extensive and solid. They also offer a mocktail menu. As for the food...everything is good and the kitchen is on point, but very little left me wanting to rush back. I think that is the issue. In a town full of amazing restaurants, for this price, there are better options. That being said the stars were the trout roe, the caviar (two raw dishes) and the squab. I would be curious to revisit. Maybe this menu wasn't the one for me. Either way it was very good.

We went to Atera to celebrate my husband's birthday, and we left feeling very disappointed.
A lot of the dishes were good, but nothing blew us away, and we both left really hungry (which is not something that ever really happens to us). The portions were not an appropriate size for the # of courses in this tasting menu. The service was good and the staff was nice, but this experience was in no way worth the money.
The reason I am giving Atera a 1 star is because one of the "snacks" (the Æbleskiver with comte, truffle) severely burned my mouth and left me with large, visible welts and burns on the inside of my mouth. Even a day later, I am still in severe pain and struggling to eat because of the burns. I have been to many, many Michelin star restaurants and have never once experienced this situation before.
I will definitely never be back here and wouldn't recommend it.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 2 - Juxia W.Washington, DC14513Feb 22, 2024
The overall experience was underwhelming.Out of 11 courses, only the carviar on custard and crab ravioli in broth were memorable. Base on the value, food and service, I would not recommend it

Atera turned my birthday into an extraordinary experience! The cozy ambiance and personalized menu added a special touch, making the evening truly memorable. The dishes were a delight, each paired perfectly with exquisite wines. The service was impeccable - attentive and knowledgeable, enhancing our dining experience. Atera is a gem in NYC for anyone seeking a blend of warmth, sophistication, and culinary excellence. Highly recommend for a special occasion or a treat-yourself night out!

Simply amazing.
We loved every single course. Each plate was a piece of art, every bite memorably delicious. The venue is really unique with a small U-shaped bar and a single table just behind it. It isn't the same seamless service at some other Michelin starred restaurants, but it more than makes up for that by giving diners a literal front seat to the kitchen. These chefs are magicians and it was amazing watching them work.
We can't wait to return!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 1984586Jul 19, 2023
Atera has 2 michelin stars and serves a 12 course tasting menu in an intimate chefs counter setting. The actual restaurant is so unique and beautiful.
One of my favorite parts of the experience was the N/A pairing, it was one of the best pairings that I've had. Each drink elevated the dish that it was paired with and also tasted great, my favorite was the raspberry with basil ice cream.
Sadly, I have mixed feelings on the food. In my opinion the menu wasn't very cohesive, the order of things was interesting and by the end of the meal I was left underwhelmed. The second, and fourth courses seemed like they should've been canapés and a lot of the courses that included caviar seemed like it was just for the presentation because they added such a little amount that it didn't add anything to the taste of the dish. One of the most disappointing parts of the meal was the chicken, there were only 2 bites that were edible, the rest had the most odd texture that led to it not being able to be chewed. The halibut and scallop course would've been a lot better if the scallop hadn't started to melted into the fish (i've seen other people post this course and that didn't happen in their pictures).
Looking back, there was one memorable dish from the meal which was the crab ravioli, it was so delicious. If Atera were a one Michelin starred restaurant most of the things would've been up to standard but for a 2 star i'm pretty confused.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
