Asian Restaurant

This is the only Chinese place we tried while in the area, but we went here a few times. It was real close to our Airbnb, so it was our go-to for filling in gaps for meals. A place called "Asian Restaurant", no online presence, cash-only, located smack dab in the middle of a very Mexican area. But man, everything we got was so good.

We went there once for dinner, and got just fried rice or lo mein a few times. The fried rice was always plain as a side, but had a great taste and partnered well with the other food we got. Like the lo mein, it also made a great snack or small meal during the day. I'd say the lo mein is in my top 3 from any Chinese takeout I've had. The mushrooms, the stripped pork and cabbage, all the other meats were in great balance.

For the meal day, we got Kung Pao chicken and the Seafood Combo Hunan Style. The Kung Pao chicken was drowning in sauce. The taste was on point, but it was not spicy at all, which was a little disappointing. The seafood combo was my favorite. They used jumbo shrimp, which tasted fresh. I usually eventually pick out the fake crab meat in meals like this, but they kept it subtle and it wasn't bad. The sauce was really good, and they weren't stingy with the broccoli which really mopped it up. This meal wouldn't have been half as good without the fried rice.

If you follow Google's links to their menu, it'll take you to the wrong one. The first time we called this place we were ready to order sushi and all kinds of stuff. The lady on the phone thought I was crazy, and we eventually put together that I'm looking at an imposter menu (with their phone number on it!) Use the picture posted on Yelp for their menu.

I'll miss this place.

I've known this place since I was like 8 years old and they always had the best fried chicken with fried rice! They had the location up by the Grandmart but moved down near "Taqueria Los 3 Reyes" what I like about the place is that when the menu has lost its color you know the food is going to be good for real !!! The service is quick you can call in to put in your order and when they say 10 minutes you gotta be there bc it's gonna be done in 10 minutes ! Always come here with cash since they only accept cash which is the sad thing because when i'm craving it I need it badly. The young girl at the front who usually picks up the phone knows spanish as well, so Im glad to be able to see her helping customers who only speak spanish get their order ready

i FINALLY found them! The owners of "Asian Restaurant" if I am not are the SAME owners of "Eastern" chinese carry out that was located at the Riverdale Plaza!

I grew up (& grew wide) eating their food since i was 8y/o. I am now in my 40s (still alive ). Sadly the owners closed Eastern carry out and I have been searching for carry outs similar to theirs- NO success after MANY years!

Then i randomly brought this up to my sister and she said that there is another carry out on Kenilworth Ave under the same owners as Eastern.

I then went to try them out and YES, my sister was right! Same taste as Riverdale Plaza's Eastern carry out!!! Woohooo!!!!

So if ever you were also wondering what happened to them - they are on Kenilworth Ave, Bladensburg MD. ***They only accept cash.***

Best wings and rice in Riverdale. Never ordered anything else from here but seriously, the wings and fried rice are perfect.

Best wings and rice in the world, I recently discharged out of the corps and I tried carry out places all over NC trying to match something just as good as this place and nothing came close. Been eating here for 20+ years. They have my money for the rest of my life!!

The fact the nameof this place is Asian Restaurant should tell you all you need to know. They didnt even take the time out of their day to give the establishment a proper name. I am not going to dig deep for this review. Seeing how i only tried one entry here. I had the spare ribs and boy were they tough! If someone would've tried to rob the place while i was there, I would've threw one at the would be robber and knocked him unconscious! It was terrible! But hey if you're into that sort of thing go for it!

Once again i want to reiterate that i only tried the ribs. Someone else had fried rice and shrimp & broccoli. Neither of which were too impressed! You're better off trying the Mexican spot next door.

after i watched one of the cooks spit in a trashcan that was right next to the bowl they scoop the rice out of, I WILL NEVER EAT FROM THIS PLACE EVER AGAIN....please stay away. most of the chinese carryouts in this area do very dirty thing, like blow their nose and go back to cooking without washing their hands and even picking in their feet.

Nothing special but the food is consistently AOK, delivery is very fast-- always gets to me piping hot. I always tip 20% or more, so maybe that helps.
