Great family owned repair shop.
Mr. Boz checked our car and gave us an estimate for the preventative maintenance of our old car.
We had everything done accordingly.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Steph D.Northside, Houston, TX04May 10, 2022
I received friendly, quick and top notch service today from the owner Boz and his son Nick. My family and I have trusted them with all of our vehicles for over 20-25 years. They are honest, fair and truly do care about their customers. They treat you like family and I would recommend their services to anyone!

I was looking around for a honest place to take my truck after having a few bad experiences in the area. Boz and his crew were impeccable! Great family owned business. They took the time to get to the root of the problem. Even went above and beyond!! I'll definitely continue bringing my business here. Awesome team and owner with genuine motives to take care of their customers. I highly recommend them.

So I came here based on all the great reviews and it's close proximity to my job. I had been without AC on my truck for an entire summer and I wasn't about to do it again so I bit the bullet took my truck in.
First off, I had a quote from another shop that diagnosed my AC issue and asked Ashford Memorial if they could beat the price and they said yes. Well, it ended up being almost $1200. ( the quote was just over $1000) so they didnt beat it but anyway. My AC was blowing again so I was happy.
I must point out that it has never worked as good as it did before it went in but it does blow well and cools for the most part.
Within the first week of getting my truck back comes all of the weird stuff. My hazards would come on randomly while driving. When I turn my right signal on, the left one would come on instead or the hazards would come on instead. Then different dash lights would come on randomly and turn off. Me being a worry wart, I would check fluids, when the lights would come on and nothing low. I got an oil change even though it wasnt time and it still kept happening. Then I noticed that my hazards button appeared to be stuck down... so I saw that the steering wheel cover was wedged against it holding it down so it couldnt move so I smaked the cover just enough to shift it to where the button was free. That ended the hazards and turn signal issues but not the icon lights in my dash.
So I delt with it a few more months and then it was time for my inspection/registration. I take it to my normal place and they say their computers cannot connect. I was so upset. They said I should go to a dealership and have them try. Well after trying 4 dealerships that couldnt help me because supposedly my truck is a 2006 and their computers only worked on vehiles as old as the lot has been open. Atleast that is what I was told. Then the 5th one that had been open more than 2 decades said they were backed up 4 weeks due to all the flooded vehicles and couldnt get me in. By then my inspection would be past due.
I finally got a recommendation from a friend about a shop they had gotten really good service from so I tried them. Long story short, I ended up having to replace my entire computer because Ashford Memorial had to open my dash and disconnect my computer to fix my AC and then didnt put it back correctly and it was completely fried! So 3 weeks and $3000 later I have my truck back with a new computer, AC that works at like 75%, but it passed inspection and runs great so I guess it could be worse.
I do want to point out that I didnt contact Ashford Memorial to ask them about my issues once it was diagnosed by the shop I used even though they asked me if I wanted to try that before they got started working on it. I just didnt want Ashford Memorial to touch my truck again once I was told that they destroyed my trucks computer.
The only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 star is because my AC does work.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Bart T.East Kingston, NH67131Apr 19, 2020
Needed some work done on my son's car. They fit me in and fixed a bunch of things in one afternoon. The guys didn't try to twist my arm to fix things that were not safety related. Really honest and fast. I will be back.

Boz is the best; honest, fast, you know what to expect. No surprises. We bring all 5 of our cars to him (all makes/models and years). So glad we found him on Yelp.
Fair prices, won't add in a bunch of unnecessary extras. Nice to know there are still honest family run businesses out there.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Gabriel S.Sugar Land, TX0153May 18, 2019
This is an outstanding repair shop! I love the customer service, Nik and Boź are always super helpful. They have helped me with my Chevy Aveo and the many problems it has had over the years. Every time I come to Ashford Memorial Auto Repair I always leave with a solid repair job done in a very timely manner. If you want the job done right I highly suggest Ashford Memorial Auto Repair!

Do yourself a favor and do not ever stop here for an oil change (not sure about repair services). Was told they can do an oil change, but the following day... let that sink in....literally thought the guy who was smoking his hookah pen was joking, but was dead serious. Definitely hilarious to offer oil change services THE FOLLOWING DAY. Don't offer oil change services if you literally can't do it within the same day when someone comes at 8am!

Absolutely the worst mechanic ever! I took my car to Ashford Memorial Auto on two separate occasions and in both cases, they failed to correctly diagnose the problem. I took it to them mainly for convenience because they are close to both my home and work. They seem very legitimate, warm, and they do have good customer service skills. But to actually do the work on your car and fix it correctly this isn't the place to take it to.
The first time I took my car there I had the oil changed and the turn signal light replace. I also told them that my car was overheating some and could they check it because the radiator is full and had been replaced a year ago. The oil change and light cost me $80 bucks; the overheating problem they told me that the radiator and water pump needed to be replaced. I later learned that there was nothing wrong at all with the radiator, it was just the water pump and the system needed to be flushed.
The next time I took my car to them, I was having issues with the car not starting every time. They looked at it and told me that it needed a new fuel pump and filter; $800. I simply couldn't afford that. Check Amazon and found all of the parts I needed to do the job myself for $120. I got the pump and filter in and still had starting issues with the car. I got a diagnostic code reader and attached it to the car and found that there were no issues with the pump, but the crankshaft sensor had gone out and there were some fuel mixture problems, which leads me to wonder did Ashford connect a code reader to the car? How much more would it have cost me to have the crankshaft sensor replaced? Another $1,000 to $1,200? It seems to me that all Ashford is looking to do is pad their wallets and not actually fix your car. I would probably put up with poor customer service if I could actually get my car repaired for a decent price. Here you're just getting ripped off with a smile.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Tom, I can tell you're really frustrated by this experience, and that should never be the case. We believe in putting in the extra effort and high-quality parts to avoid costs in the long run, but it sounds like we could've explained ourselves better.
If you'd like to clarify anything, feel free to give me a call.
Thanks,

I just picked my car up from Boz at Ashford Memorial Auto Repair yesterday - for only $300 my 1999 lame-mobile is driving like a new car again.
This auto repair shop is quick, honest, reliable, and inexpensive. It's a family business, so if you need a ride back to your office or home, Boz's darling mother will be the one driving.
Boz is quick to call with an estimate, and the car is almost always ready even sooner than he promises. He always fixes what's *actually* wrong with the car (rather than just fixing something to get you on your way) and never does any unauthorized ("bonus") work to pad the bill.
I can't say enough good things about this place. I'd trust him completely to keep anything that has more than two wheels in top shape.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
