picked up Mutton and Chicken Biryani. Worst ever Biryani I had. I would not recommend a take out Biryani from here. Very expensive, poor quality and stale.

I love coming to Anjappar with my parents. They offer a wide variety of dishes to choose from, from breakfast items, to soups, to typical dinner items.
If you come on a weekday, it takes roughly 15 minutes to get food to your table. However Friday nights and weekends, it can take upwards of 30 minutes because of the rush. It's a decently large restaurant, and all the workers are nice and accommodating.
We always order the veg kothu paratha and baby corn manchurian for the table -- 10/10 items and they always taste great. This time around we ordered the hot and sour veg soup -- I was recovering from a sore throat and this really helped with clearing it up. The spices mix together really well. We also ordered the Chicken 65 Biryani -- while the rice is good, the chicken pieces are only on the top of the rice and are not mixed in. It doesn't feel like the best bang for your buck.
Overall, I'll be coming back to try the other dishes they have! This is a great place if you're in the mood for some authentic, spicy Indian food.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Feb 17, 2024
Came in on a Saturday at about 6pm and this place wasn't busy to my surprise and was seated right away.
The server was so friendly and helpful as I don't eat Indian often, but I can say it was sooo good!
We ordered the Palak Paneer which was so fresh and tasty and also ordered the Kadai Vegetable which was sweeter than I thought, but still good. The star of the show was the mutter and it was so good I didn't even get a picture LOL! Please note that I am not a big spice person and we thought medium would be ok, but NO NO... we got no spice and it was plenty for me haha!
Plenty of parking as it is located in a strip mall.
Will be back as this place was super good and the service was great. The location is also modern and feels upscale.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 94159251Jan 14, 2024Updated review
Went to dinner with my family and we devoured the food. We ordered the following:
- Gobi Manchurian - 5/5, I have not found better Gobi in the Bay Area. It's unbeatable for me
- Fish 65 - 4/5 While this wasn't what I expected for a 65 dish (the usual flavor profiles) I enjoyed it. It was small bite sized boneless fish pieces that were fried with batter
- Veg Schezuan Noodles - 5/5 I love Indo-chinese food and this was great noodles for me! It was very spicy so beware of some extra heat
-Burnt Garlic Fried Rice - 5/5 Very authenticate to flavors you would find in india. I really enjoyed the texture and taste and in comparison, was not as spicy
-Seeraga Samba Chicken Biriyani - 3/5 My family loved it, but personally I found the actual chicken pieces (with bone) flavorless. The rice was well flavored
Overall we loved the food but docking a point for cleanliness and slow service, although I do think it is well worth the wait. They have large food portions too!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

We are glad it reminds you of Bangalore! Our goal is to provide the best quality food in the Bay Area. We look forward to hosting you again.
Thanks,
Team AnjapparMar 21, 2023Previous reviewThe only place in the Bay Area where you get Gobi Manchurian that tastes like what you'd get in Bangalore. I wish they gave a little bit more for the price but it's so good, I can't complain much.

They are prioritizing door dash customers over in-sitting customers, cold sodas, tasteless tomato soup. Pretty bad experience.

They don't compromise on flavors and are unapologetically authentic when it comes to taste. If you're a non vegetarian lover like me, come hungry and try an array of dishes here. My husband and I love Anjappar for their chicken lollipop, chicken manchurian, burnt garlic chicken noodles with egg, mutton meal thali, mutton uppu kari, mutton masala, garlic naan, samba biryani and the star of their menu, prawn onion pepper. Nothing beats the flavor of their indo chinese menu. Their appams and curries are amazing! Try their mutton bone soup on a chilly evening and thank me later. Their thalis are a great deal and they have probably the best mutton thali in the bay area.
We try not to order anything online because dining here and consuming piping hot food straight from the kitchen just awakens your senses. The food here reminds me of the flavors I grew up eating, and for that, I'm ready to ignore the price they charge per dish. It is justified when they serve amazing food (dine-in in our experience).
We'll be back!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - JESSICA Y.San Jose, CA1498173Apr 14, 2024
First time... and did take out. We tried a few items, chicken lollipops, gobi Manchurian - dry, chicken tikki masala, both garlic and cheese naan, parotta and wheat roti. We loved the chicken lollipops, they were flavorful and not dry. The gobi Manchurian was spicy with a little bit of tangy sweet... delicious. The chicken tikki masala was spicy and tender. I would personally skip the wheat roti it had no flavor in my option. The parotta was the best. The cheese was our favorite vs the garlic naan, but the garlic naan was very good.

Bad experience today ordering from this place. Parotta was barely cooked , never order salna from this place, it tastes like clear soup. Never going back

It's all right, this is the first time in a while I've tried Indian food. I like trying different things, and I'll keep it fair.
I ordered the "pepper boneless chicken dry itself by door dash. I found it....very underwhelming.
I wasn't sure if this is how you are supposed to cook the chicken. Was it meant to be soft and soggy? Knowing it cost practically 20$ is perplexing. Like taste wise it's okay, but the texture thrown me off.
I feel like I should try one or two different items to change my perspective. What's the best item to order here?Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 27, 2024
I've eaten a few times here and the reason I'm finally writing a review and giving them only a star is because I've had a pretty bad experience with service as well as taste for almost everything except chicken lollipops. The fish was tasteless and almost felt burnt. The food in general was lacking flavor and the staff didn't seem to care.
