Seating at 7:00 pm was quick and courteous with our reservation in place. We had to wait for the rest of our party, and the friendly staff brought drinks and appetizers in a friendly manner. The Margarita was well prepared and had just the right tang. Meg's Malbec was to her liking. We ordered after our party was fleshed out, and the food arrived promptly and hot. Meg's Chicken Saltibocca was excellent. I had the Lazagna. Nothing to write home about.
The atmosphere is "neighborhood pub" and though we were not regulars, we were treated like we were.
It may be a bit pricy for a quick stop for cocktails, but probably within reason for a relaxed dinner among the hubub of the regulars' discussing their lives.
I would say, try it. You'll likely find food, drink, and comraderie to suite your needs.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Terrianne J.Greene, NY012Jan 19, 2024

Everything was delicious! ESPECIALLY THE ESPRESSO MARTINIS!!!!! My bf and I love trying out new places and happened to come across this cute restaurant/bar. My favorite part of Italian food is pairing it with an espresso martini, they have a giant espresso machine right at the bar and I cannot stress how great it is. As for the food, also delicious. We got the garlic knots (served with Alfredo sauce which might just be the smartest thing ever), calamari, a pizza, and honestly I forget what the last thing we got was but we loved it all. Everything seemed to be reasonably priced. The only reason for not getting the 5th star is because we showed up about 30 minutes after they opened, there were 2 or 3 tables when we arrived and a couple people sitting at the bar. Within 20 minutes of us being there every table was full including the bar. They only had one waitress working and she was struggling. We sat for about a hour before she got over to take our food order. We weren't in a rush and thankfully weren't starving, it just gave us time to drink more martinis. Overall we will be back, but will definitely go early just in case we end up waiting again or maybe we'll just sit at the bar.

Service: the food did not come out until 40+ minutes after we arrived. It seems like only one waitress was actually doing her job
Food: awful, i ordered the ravioli. the sauce was way too sweet. My friends who ordered pasta with meat did not receive any meat.
Ambiance: lazy and slowHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Laurie H.SoMa, San Francisco, CA01Oct 16, 2022

Probably the last visit for us - the food is pretty good and the staff is generally friendly, prices are high for Binghamton but the drinks are good.
However, noticed a "convenience fee" appended to our credit card receipt - nothing in the menu or posted in the restaurant that we saw. That's the sort of nickel and diming that keeps us from returning to a place.
Letting someone know before they pay is the bare minimum - still pretty cheap but at least gives you a choice.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Julia B.Johnson City, NY152337Apr 17, 2018
Yum! We always sit at the bar, even if there's 4 or more of us. When they say they can stuff my olives with blue cheese for my martini- I know we can be friends. I've also had a citrus Cosmo that was made perfectly. A little pricey but you get what you paid for.
My husband had a pasta roll up special that he still talks about.
I had the chicken piccata, so good you know it's made with love.
They had a Brussels spout veggie special that I dream about. Sad when we returned they didn't have it (we then learned the veggie always changes).
Shared a piece of triple chocolate pie. If you go you must try!
Always room for parking.
Super clean bathroom.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - William R.Danbury, CT1108Feb 11, 2018
Food was OK. Atmosphere was small bar with seating jammed in. It wasn't a BAD experience, and I wouldn't say we regret going, but there are certainly choices that are more ... restaurant.
Gnocchi with vodka sauce and chicken. Vodka sauce was off on flavor and left a question if it wasn't just marinara. Either way, it was very flat. It was also cheese gnocchi which was not expected and did not sit well. Chicken was just ok. Couldn't even finish due to the oddity of flavors and content.
Bourbon braised pork chops had great flavor, despite being a little over cooked and dry inside. Brussels sprouts were a complete failure. They were cooked to mushy-ness, and almost burnt on the outside. Smashed potatoes were pretty good, but could have used some more butter to add some flavor.
2.5 stars is the right rating, but since that's not an option, 2 it is.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Joe G.Binghamton, NY185Jun 16, 2019
Amici offers a very nice selection of Italian cuisine and draft beers. Until recently it was high on our list of nice intimate dining experiences.
Regrettably on our recent visit we were surprised when we received our itemized bill to find they had applied a "convenience" fee (~4%) for paying with a credit card. We were not told about this in advance nor did we see signs in regard to this policy change?
We we asked our server she claimed that "more and more restaurants are doing this".
Well no one we have talked to has has a similar experience at other local restaurants.
Simply put we will not be going back.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sophie B.Endicott, NY0429Jun 5, 2018
I don't get down to Amici's too much but when I do I always leave full and happy, looking forward to my next visit. Today was no exception. I came down with two friends, we sat at the bar and ordered pizza. The pizza was spot on. It was a little small, but full of delicious, quality toppings and the crust was perfectly thin and crisp. Both bartenders were sweet and funny. They added to the atmosphere! Totally worth a visit if you love good pizza!
