This place is absolutely delicious!! I want to try everything on the menu! Atmosphere was so lively, there was live music and karaoke and lots of family talking. Everything was so flavorful and well-seasoned. Service was super sweet, but it was rather hectic so understandably sometimes you have to get their attention. I came in on a Saturday around 2pm. I saw this place while driving by before and wanted to give it a try. I regret having driven by so many times and not trying it. The parking lot is a big bonus, but there's street parking too I believe. If there's one thing you should do in your lifetime, it's eating here.

FYI marimba Fridays night Saturday and Sundays noon time. - Jeffrey S.Culver City, CA061Apr 14, 2024
We had a spectacular lunch with tasty drinks served by a friendly staff! There was a terrific, live band with diners dancing the Cumbia and everyone in the place was having a great time. I had the shrimp dish and two amazing margaritas. Down home style eating with great people at a good price.

We were craving some garnachas and decided to drive out to amalia's. However we were really dissatisfied, the only plate of food that was good was the carne asada & shrimp plate. And the fried plátanos as you can't really mess that up. The prices also do NOT match what their menus show, the prices are increased between $2-$4. The bill was extremely high for the food and service we received. Next time we're craving garnachas we'll be going elsewhere.
Here is what we ordered
*antojitos amalia- this included
4 garnachas that we're okay but did not have escabeche,
4 enchiladas that were on the same small tortilla garnachas were on (these should be on a tostada not on fried masa) enchiladas normally have lettuce, remolacha, queso and hardboiled egg. These were just ground beef with remolacha and cheese.
1 chuchito that was dry and in a banana leaf
1 chipilin tamal that was okay.
* pollo en crema- bland and very dry in the middle.
* chile relleno plate- small in portion, but not completely bad
* Salpicon- missing seasoning and it was also dryHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1Business owner information

Hello Katherine just to let you know the antojitos is a mix of different appetizers. If you order just garnachas you do take the escabeche. Enchiladas of the appetizers are tiny little hand made tortillas only for the appetizer. our order of enchiladas does take the tostadas.
We are sorry you we didn’t meet your expectations. - Margarita B.Central LA, Los Angeles, CA0911May 6, 2023
I give this beautiful plate a solid 9 out of 10.
Our server was attentive they started off with tortilla chips and 2 different dipping sauces which were both equally delicious the green one is a tiny bit spicy and the red sauce is not spicy at all. We were having trouble choosing between all the good looking plates in the menu that we decided to go with Amalias Antojitos which is like a bit of everything. Food was great, but I just felt like the chuchitos needed more sauce inside ... maybe that's just my liking other than that everything was great. The Restaurant looks well maintained and clean.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Wow! I must say their food is delicious. Yes, the food does take some time to be ready. But, than again it was a Sunday, and the establishment was to its maximum capacity. They had live music, Marimba. Pretty neat! - I must add, their waitress was one of the most sweet and attentive waitress I have ever encountered. Smiling every single time, checked in with us multiple times if we needed anything. Didn't even let us touch the plates once we were done... she said "nope! I got it!" And gave us a great smile! Her name is Shyrlie if I'm not mistaken! We are coming back very soon! Shyrlie, YOU ARE AMAZING!
Ps.
We tried the Amalias Antojitos! SOOOOO GOOD! Also their Horchata... ugh! So good!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information
