Al's Transmission & Auto Repair

This person Al is horrible to say the very least after my car had been there for a week he finally looked at it. He refused to speak to me at all he would only speak with my fiancé. Claimed after he called him said that I was holding him up by calling him. Now that he has torn apart my vehicle he said I can come get it now. I will now have to get a tow truck because he refuse to put it back together. Such great customer service.

In my opinion as a customer, Al's transmission is a terrible place to take your car for a repair. My personal experience was that they had my car for 3 weeks trying to diagnose an oil leak and never found the issue but replaced an oil pressure sensor charged me almost $300 yet it wasn't the problem. My opinion is gross incompetence and they also damaged my classic 2006 Cadillac STS while in their care, or lack thereof. Al never answers his phone or returns text messages, further proof of his lack of customer service and being just an awful businessman. I finally showed him photos of the scratches one of his employees inflicted on the car door and they accused me of causing the damage. Bottom line, they've lost my business and for anyone reading this I urge you to avoid Al's Transmission and Automotive like the plague. In my opinion they should just close their doors.

After a different shop quoted me $3500 for a transmission I was advised to come here.
They had my car for 2 days and found nothing wrong.
I will say if you try to call there are issues getting g though but he calls and will let you know what the issue is( or isn't)

In letter written to Al:
I know that you probably think we may have forgotten your kindness to us in February on our way down to Florida.
But, we did not forget your great kindness to us on February 11 - when our tow vehicle (a 2013 white Ford F150, pulling a Cougar 5th wheel) wasn't operating correctly - nor your expertise in servicing our truck and getting us back on the road on the same day, especially when the Ford dealers in Athens were no help. You went out of your way to help us - as I am sure we interrupted what was probably a busy day - and you diagnosed our problem quickly and correctly. In our final "test" drive, you even followed us on the interstate to be sure everything was working as it should in case we needed one more "tweek." We also sincerely appreciate your reasonable pricing, as you could have taken advantage of travelers wanting to get back on the road to their destination. BUT you didn't do that. And, FYI, our truck has been running great since our encounter.

Excellent customer service and repair work. It's not the newest shop and it's not as 'pretty' as some of the natl etc...shops but the level of expertise and customer service for transmission work is unparalleled. I've literally saved hundreds of dollar$ getting work done there. It's not a rip-off joint and they don't do unnecessary work and charge yo for what doesn't need to be done. It's done right the first time. I recommend him to everyone and it's worth the drive from any surrounding city
