The only issue was finding a safe place to park. We ended up parking behind the food store down the street, less than a block from One Bourbon.
I would go back to visit in a heartbeat! - May 12, 2024Updated reviewSeated via Yelp Reservations
Lounge and Oak Room taken way with! Such beauty and quality of services! We hosted my Dad's Wake here this weekend, 5/11/24. Beyond our expectations for kindnesses from the staff here @ One Bourbon . Abbi (yes, correct spelling) was lovely in helping walk me through this process of reserving room setup, flowers, food, expenses, and everything. I honestly had NO idea what I was doing. She made the entire process seem less & it turned out beautifully, simply EXACTLY as we hoped for. We opted for a cocktail type open bar heavy hors d'oeuvres event from 4-7. Our guests streamed in & out of my father's wake comfortably. The Bartender, along with Abbi, MADE this event! The thoughtfulness they put into talking with our guests and being present but not intrusive was very special indeed! My Father really enjoyed coming to this establishment and how WELL YOU DID at helping us honor him! We thank you!!!

This guys was running 7 ways from Sunday & never missed a beat! Thank you Kenny for your knowledge of the Bourbon, Scotch , and Food menu. Your recommendations were a HUGE HIT with all 6 of us. We went on a Wednesday night @ 6:00pm the place was hopping. We did indeed have reservations for a party of 6. We were all sat immediately and offered menus and drinks. The food was delicious EVERYTHING we ordered!
The only draw back for myself was street parking only. I'm handicapped & this was difficult in the snow. - Mar 4, 2024Seated via Yelp Reservations
I was looking for a new place in Grand Rapids and found One Bourbon. It's on the West side of downtown Grand Rapids and was quite busy, so I'd recommend reservations. The bar is straight ahead as you enter with a few tables spread around and the dining area was off to the left. It wasn't quiet but it wasn't loud either. We could carry on a conversation without issue. I tried their house old fashioned and it was excellent. Their bourbon selection is quite extensive so if you are looking to try before you buy, there's a good chance One Bourbon has a bottle and will pour you shot! For dinner I ordered a ribeye. It was cooked to my liking and included asparagus and potatoes. The potatoes were a little underwhelming, but a little of the compound butter and salt fixed that issue. The asparagus was also good. My second drink was another old fashioned but I opted for a barrel pick of Old Forrester. It was nice and spicy! Totally enjoyed it! We decided to try the cookies and ice cream and it did not disappoint!

The Bridge Street area is so hopping with lots of great options, including One Bourbon. I have been in a few times since they opened back in 2017 so figured I should update my review! They have a decent sized back patio which I totally forgot about, but met up with a friend recently for one of the last days of summer and enjoyed happy hour outside. The menu has a southern, soul food vibe with dishes like Cajun hummus, tasso & biscuit board, mushroom etouffee, and more. I wanted something a bit lighter, so I went with the monthly special salad which had local plums, herbed mascarpone cheese, candied pecans, and blueberry vinaigrette. It was so fresh and delicious and the smaller size was perfect for a small meal. I also enjoyed their Houdini's paloma, which is one of the best palomas I've had. They have a cocktail flight which is super fun, and something we've ordered in the past. The presentation is beautiful and I liked all the different drinks.
Our server was very polite and attentive and knew the menu well, which I appreciated. Vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and dairy free options are listed on the menu so I think it's a good spot for lots of people. Of course if you like bourbon check out their "brown list" for selections! Their burnt orange and vanilla old fashioned is pretty tasty. They take reservations which is a bonus as many of the busy Bridge Street hot spots do not.Helpful 12Thanks 3Love this 13Oh no 0Business owner information

Thanks for the great review, Katy! We appreciate your feedback and understanding while we get off the ground! Can't wait to have you back again soon!
Mar 21, 2017Previous reviewOne Bourbon is off to a strong start! I went to a soft opening with several friends and we tried a bunch of cocktails and a large selection of food. They have some kinks to work out, of course, but there's tons of potential! We got chicken and waffles, Mac and cheese, Bourbon burger, poutine, cheese curds and hot cheese appetizer. Our first drinks came out quickly and they were good. I had a whiskey sour which was a little different than I am used to but I liked it. After that, it started getting super busy and our server was swamped, so our next couple rounds of drinks were quite a bit slower to come out. Our food came out pretty quickly once we were finally able to order. Everything was good except the Mac and cheese which was bland and missing some fried chicken tenders. The food also wasn't to temp but I am forgiving them because by this time it was NUTS in there!
The cocktail list is nicely curated with a couple non-whiskey options. They did tell us that they just got their whiskey options in earlier today, so they didn't have a printed list, but they have 9 huge shelves chock full of whiskeys! They also have a few draft beer selections.
The bar's interior is not that big but they have an upstairs venue that holds up to 50 for special and private events. They also have a back patio that should be really awesome in summer.
Definitely check out this newest addition to the West side once they open to the public on March 23! - Nov 26, 2023
Food was mediocre and while there were some vegetarian options, there was maybe only one vegan option. We were bar hopping with friends and this is what they settled for, for food. Not a fan of the food, but they do have a long list of bourbon if that's what you're into. And as you can tell with this picture, lighting was dim. Service was good though. But too expensive for my taste.

Solid dining experience. The bar is floor-to-ceiling stocked with pretty much every whiskey you can imagine. Bartenders pride themselves on all manner of fermented-grain cocktails, and you should try them all. I went with an old fashioned. Tasted great. Paired it with their pulled pork sandwich. Theirs is a tangy sauce on the pork--heads up if you prefer sweeter BBQ. Pork itself tasted a little dry and disintegrated, not tender and juicy. I'd opt for something else next time. Their house made French fries are a winner. Popular with locals.

the butternut squash soup was one of the best I've ever had. Chicken sandwich excellent. The grill cheese was very generous in portion and cheese. I think I don't like the combo of the cheeses that's not on them, I added some of the Nashville hot sauce to give it some extra flavor. It wasn't too loud, no blaring music or echoing sounds. We like places where we can talk.
Service was great. You should be able to find something you like when you visit.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 18156552Feb 3, 2023
Stopped in to grab dessert with the husband. He had the Old Forester Single Barrel Rye (it smelled delicious!), and I got the Bourbon Bread Pudding with ice cream. We sat at the bar and had great conversation about Bourbon with Mitch!
Great, chill place to come to if you like Bourbon - we were told that the owner goes to a distillery every few months with some staff to try Bourbon and pick a barrel that they bring home and age with other things!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jan 11, 2023
We made it to One Bourbon for dinner the other day! We finally got to use the gift cards we got in our gift bags from the Beer, Wine, and Food festival!
We'd made a reservation, so we were sat quickly! Our waitress was very nice, and made serving a big group seem like an easy task.
For drinks, I ordered the Footloose, a cran-Apple mule. Derek and a friend both ordered the Sunshine & Smoke, which is a smoky, spicy margarita. The friend didn't like the smoky flavor, but I happen to love it, and we ended up switching drinks I liked both though!
Buckle up, we got a lot of food! I ordered deviled eggs and butternut squash bisque. The deviled eggs were good on their own, but the dipping sauce they came with was *chefs kiss*. The bisque was yummy too! Derek got the grilled cheese, with white cheddar and muenster. We also ordered the harvest bowl, the bourbon burger, and the smoked ribeye. I didn't try everything but everyone seemed content with their food!
We also got the peanut butter pie for dessert (I didn't have room to upload the picture). I was veryyyy full already, but even so, I couldn't get enough
Thanks @onebourbongr for having us! We'll be back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Stephanie S.Grand Rapids, MI01430Dec 17, 2023
We say "outside" and it was perfect. The truffle fries were the highlight of the night. I would go back simply for them.
