Staff is very friendly and adaptable depending on the table and how busy the place is at a given time.
I've enjoyed everything I've tried.
The Goat tacos are a perfect item Do not miss these.

If you're looking for great food and friendly service, 5 Rabanitos is it! I brought my 8th grade class in for lunch and they prepared a taco bar for us. They are able to accommodate dietary restrictions and we're very attentive to us during our visit. We all left happy and full!
I've been there before and I'll definitely go again!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 197127414May 18, 2024
We enjoyed our visit. I'm on a mission to get new places in Pilsen when I'm wanting to have Good, solid Mexican food!
The steak tacos were solid; the chicken was shredded, juicy and flavorful; the shrimp, delicious! Fresh.
Sissy loved the chicken tamale, nephew ate all four of his steak tacos, mom ate all her tacos, the rice and beans! Nice size taco dinner with the option to mix and match the tacos!
Oh and my neice, 8yo loved the children chicken strip with mash potatoes! Everyone loved the mash potatoes!
Last, but never least, the cocktails were good. Nothing special, but tasty and fresh (could've been a little more boozy). Our server did his best, it was busy! The space is your typical Pilsen Mexican spot.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sonya M.Chicago, IL177623978Apr 6, 2024
I ordered takeout one night from this location not too long ago. The food was okay, but nothing spectacular.
We ordered carne asada and chicken tinga tacos. The chicken tinga tacos were flavorless, which was disappointing, but the steak tacos were decent. We also had the chips and salsa, which was okay.
Overall, our experience was lackluster. I'd probably only order the steak tacos again.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 483220Apr 2, 20241 check-in
Vibrant decor, service was sufficient for dinner rush.
Drinks were a touch on the sweeter side, but the sangria might have been the hidden boozy gem.
The apps were all tasty, the entrees were a bit over seasoned. If you're going for carne asada, I'd recommend the entree over the three taco meal. A little more pricey but better quality meat.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lisa M.Chicago, IL30101279May 5, 2024
The mole is very good here. It was a a very busy day considering it is cinco de maya. Waiter was friendly and tried to accommodate as much as possible. They had a hard time keeping up with so many ppl. Someone was serenading us which made it feel very cinco de maya. Ambiance was great.

I had a dinner date with a friend and I looked for something that was centrally located between the two of us. 5 Rabinitos has been on my list of places to try for ages.
We started with the chips and salsa, which were quite good. For our mains, my friend ordered the cheese enchiladas mole and I ordered the camarones gratinados. I heard nothing but good things about the enchiladas and loved my shrimp. The portion was ample, the shrimp really big and tender, and the favors at tasty. I usually gravitate towards dishes with some spice to them, but didn't feel like I missed out at all with my meal.
Overall, I'm glad I finally got here and can't wait to come back with husband.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Apr 15, 2024
The food was delicious - I can't pick a favorite because everything we tried was so different. But I recommend the fried plantains for an app, the Goat Adobo Barbacoa for an entree, and Milanesa (crispy chicken) torta! I also found the strawberry horchata pretty unique! I will be back for sure!

Everything about my dinner at Rabanitos was nothing short of perfection. The weather was warming up so a friend and I sat out on their wonderful. I got the cucumber margarita that tasted so refreshing and light and glowed in the sun. I ordered the pozole verde with pork and omg it was incredible. Just the right amount of savory plus tender strips of pork combined with the crunch of radishes and chicharrones made this comforting bowl so delectable and memorable. Since I was starving that day I also got the goat adobo barbacoa that was just incredible. To finish, my friend and I shared the pineapple upside down cake, and omg, I would want that served at my wedding. The cake itself was warm and soft and dense with pineapple flavor. Topped with ice cream and a drizzle of caramel, it was incredible in such a simple way. But to top it all off, there was a sprig of mint that actually brought the whole cake together so beautifully. Whatever appetizers and entrees you order, DO NOT pass on the pineapple upside down cake. Besides the food, service was very kind and attentive. We loved the outdoor space with the colorful wall. Street noise was minimal. Definitely a top Chicago restaurant experience.

Slipped into 5 Rabanitos at around 5pm on a Sunday. This restaurant is always full and there will always be a wait. Their tacos are reasonably priced and quite delicious. I like their fried plaintains and speedy service.

I must say, the hubby and I were greedy and tried a few items! Everything was spectacular. The portion size is nice, so I had a few leftovers. On the menu we tried:
Taquitos Ahogados
Pork Belly Chorizo Taco
Green Chicken Tamale
Carne Asade Taco Dinner
Crispy Chicken Milanesa with Garlic Mash Potatoes
You could taste the passion in the food. Everything I tasted felt like a nice warm hug. My tastebuds were very happy!
If visiting on the weekends, I highly recommend making reservations. We went during the weeknight with reservations, and the seats were filling up pretty quickly.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
