If you like seafood you must get the walleye-shrimp cake Benedict. Unsure how I'll ever eat a normal eggs Benedict again.
The american breakfast was a little greasy, but accomplished the job.
Overall a good breakfast.
We went during a peak time (9 AM on a Sunday) and were able to be sat right away. Our server was very nice and never pressured us to leave. She did disappear at one point and we weren't sure if we paid with her or at the host desk (table), but I'd like to assume she was giving us space to catch up.
There is street parking or a lot, so no worries on that front either.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 26, 2023Updated review6 check-ins
Food 5/5 - The food is always on point at 3 Square! I tried the Steak Au Poivre special and it was great, made to order. The breakfast burrito was delicious as always.
Service / Ambiance 5/5 - The service was good and we got our food within a timely manner.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1May 8, 2023Previous reviewFood 5/5 - 3 Squares is one of my favorite go to restaurants! They have such an amazing variety on the menu. The sweet potato fries and Brussels sprouts (without almonds because of an allergy) is always our favorite appetizers.
Service 5/5 - The service was great! We got out food and drink orders within a timely manner and got to chat with the general manager regarding the seasonal menu.
Ambiance 5/5 - They have a nice sports bar/bar section, a more dining room feel section, and an outdoor patio. The summer on the patio is our favorite. - Mar 23, 20243 check-ins
I like the Blue Plate joints, 3 Squares is no exception. Food is good, if you come during peak times it is busy, but they turn tables over pretty fast so the wait isn't too bad. Seems like there are often spots at the bar too, check there if you're a single or party of two.

me here on a Thursday late morning/early afternoon, after a team volunteer event that was nearby. It wasn't too busy there, I will say parking was a little confusing for some of us, some parked way far away and some of us close by accident. The menu is VERY gluten free friendly, so major points for that. It seemed like everyone enjoyed their food, but the service was slow. The server was very friendly and she didn't mess anything up it just took a good long while between request and actually getting it. I got the Southwest Quinoa Bowl and really enjoyed it a lot. Good flavor with that lime and the textures were great. It was surprisingly filling and I was able to bring about 1/2 home to my spouse! Would definitely come and try more from here again, if I'm in the area.

From the food to the drinks, it's a great steady option on our list of restaurants.
The service is fast for how busy 3 Squares is. They are attentive, polite, and are willing to retrieve any extra goods you may need. It is a bar/grill with an outside patio. You can expect it to get very busy for breakfast on the weekend by 9:45 am. It can get pretty loud inside as well.
The maple syrup is one of a kind here. I'm not sure what is in it but I taste cinnamon of sorts... I am still deciding if it's a taste I want to acquire. The breakfast burrito can get pretty spicy (ask for regular sour cream on the side). The Bloody Mary's are tasty but spendy for the size you likely get elsewhere. The wings are fantastic!!!
Parking is vast and they have a waiting area outside with benches as well - like I said, you can expect a wait time past 9:45 am without a reservation.
** unique quality: coffee cups are very big and come in different shapes/designs- so fun **Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 7148164Sep 11, 2023
Well the experience is one I do not want to relive.
Way too many flies on the outside patio! They need to add fans to help with this.
I got the salmon - it smelled fishy I ate about 3/4 Dont feel well, and the cauliflower rice was gross.
Now don't take my review as to not try it, my experience might be different than others.
I am traveling on business and I always like to try local eateries and I am highly disappointed!
Service was fast and they were cordial not overly friendly . And I am from California saying this!
I dropped to a two star due to my experience.

3 squares is a simple place, good food, good service, and it feels like a hometown restaurant. I've visited for each of my 3 square meals a day and I go back knowing each time that I'll try something different that will be just as good as the last thing I had. You won't forget the steak and pierogies, that's a meal that'll get you through a chilly winter day. The steak is well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The pierogies were savory and smooth. I think about this dish at least once a week.

Had the French toast chicken stack. Was awesome. Probably the best French toast I've ever had. The chicken, egg and gravy added a nice savory taste to it. Would highly recommend. The wait staff was nice and friendly. The restaurant vibes are great. Will be coming back.

I came back to visit this rehab center to meet with a few colleagues who still work here. I was pleasantly surprised to see how much progress they've made!
The setup this time around is themed around a breakfast diner called "3 Squares Restaurant." As usual, they use exposure therapies and build real-world scenarios to treat their patients, but this time it felt different. For example, one patient, (who I was later told was admitted to the center just 7 weeks ago), was tasked to work as a restaurant host, and although she couldn't seat me to my table, she did so without having a breakdown or convulsing or even fleeing! They've really turned things around here and I hope to see many of them take the reins back on their lives and adjust to society. I wish them well.
For anyone with even the slightest hint of a tan, please be careful when entering this "restaurant." The aforementioned "staff" are very scared of us seasony types. Take a moment and have some empathy before walking up to them to ask a question. Understand they may be right on the edge of a meltdown or panic attack.
Here's a Yelp review tip you can have for free!
It's best to avoid eye contact with them, but if you do, then do NOT forget to smile. These particular patients at the Maple Grove location suffer from various degrees of melanophobia and so they are a very precious people and need all the reassurance they can get.
Pay a visit, and don't judge. Who knows? You might even make a new friend. :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 12166756Oct 28, 2022
Walked to this place from our hotel because they serve breakfast all day. Although the breakfast menu is small, they do have a lot of variety in choice, same w the lunch and dinner menus. They do NOT serve omelettes though, so my son was a little bummed out about that.
We ended up ordering:
* the grilled salmon, which was perfect. Glazed slightly with a balsamic marinade, and served with grilled root veggies. Yum.
* the southwest quinoa bowl, which was my favorite. So delicious with heirloom tomatoes, peppers, corn, kale, black quinoa...so GOOD and deliciously fresh!
* the cakes, links, and eggs - those panels disappeared fast! Lol So fluffy and delicious. The sausage links were fat and full of flavor!
Service was perfect! We sat outside and had the nicest server. They let us take forEVER to order, and then we like to sit around and chat. Some places don't like that, but we were super happy here, and left a great tip. We hope to come back here soon!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
