Vesuvio is probably my favorite casual bar in North Beach that I've been to so far. The retro, vintage-y theme inside is so cool and the vibes are a perfect balance of casual and fun. Great place to go to if you want a lively atmosphere to just catch-up with some friends.

We all got the Jack Kerouac and it was amazing. Very citrus-y, definitely more on the sweeter/fruitier side but I absolutely loved it.

Overall, I'll definitely be coming back here whenever I'm around!

The best place to grab a drink in North Beach. Fantastic atmosphere with good, affordable cocktails. I am a big fan of the beat poets so I'll always enjoy coming here.

A great spot for a late night cocktail! The eclectic decor is funky and unique - I could get lost looking at everything. The second floor is so cool too, though definitively not for taller folx. We only ordered a round of beers, but next time I am here I'd love to try a cocktail!

I was bar hopping with my friend on St. Patrick's Day. We didn't have a set plan but we were just walking around the city seeing what bars were popular that night. We noticed a crowd at Vesuvio Cafe so we decided to go inside, and boy am I glad we did!

Vesuvio Cafe is located in North Beach and it is the ideal city bar! It's very artsy, vibrant and cozy. I looked it up online and I guess they have been around since 1948.

I ordered a White Russian and my friend just got a Guiness. The place was packed so we decided to sit upstairs, and let me tell you the ambiance hits the spot! I was telling my friend, Vesuvio Cafe is an ideal date place! I love the art on the wall, Tiffany-style bar lights and the overall vibe of the place! It looks like a bar that you would see in a movie. I definitely want to come back here on a date!

Bartender was an asshole, tried to order a drink and he denied it saying "you don't come up to us, we come up to you, you don't know how a bar works."

Just rude and demeaning for no reason. Save your money for a place that actually cares about their customers

Great place to chat with friends but hit or miss with drinks.

When you had a miss on cocktails and missed with bad customer service, it can totally ruined your experience.

The Jack Keroqua, supposed to have tequila, rum, cranberry juice, orange juice, and a squeezed of lime juice. I have gotten it a few times before, both cocktail and mocktail version and I loved it. Ordered this time again, it tasted awful, and it tasted like orange juice went bad, also let a few friends tried it and we all agree it didn't taste right.

I had never tell bartenders that the drink is so bad that I wanted to let them know before but this one was too bad. I went back to the bartender to kindly let them know, but the response I got was pretty much like, "well there is tequila and rum in this, it is supposed to taste bad" (except I asked for no rum and light tequila to start off with so it should not be the factor), and then they were also making faces as they are giving rude response. I didn't get a new drink due to the amount of bad behavior I had received.

1. If the drink is supposed to taste this bad, not sure what is the intention to put it on a menu, even tho it tasted good in the last few visits

2. I learned today that if you tasted some really bad and bitter orange juice in drink, it is probably illusion, it must be the tequila and rum.

Vesuvio cafe is a great place to start your day drinking escapades with friends. Its a very cool bar with a lot of history, strong drinks, and unique clientele.

Our party of 6 was able to find a table easily. My favorite drinks were the Jack Kerouac and Pimms Cup.

Nice bar. Good place for drinks. Does not feel touristy . Bartender are friendly and the service is good
