Customer service at its worst! I had to bring my mother into the hale hand center for a brace. She just had hand surgery 2 days prior on her right Hand the one she is dominate with. She is right handed and cannot write with or use it at all.
They gave her a stack of paperwork to fill out which she cannot fill out due to her hand.
So I am her hands to help her out with paperwork and so forth. I am also going to be helping her with her brace and therapy at home. I was in the building with her helping her out for over an hour. When she went to the table to get her brace made I walked over to see if there was anything I need to be done and I got Snapped at and I was told by one of the ladies that work there. I was told to leave out of the building only patients allowed inside. And leave now. Nowhere is there a sign stating this on the door, The receptionist should've told me when I was there helping my mother out with the paperwork and her IDs. So I sat in the building for over a hour with no one comforted me. and the funny part is the woman that told me to leave, watched me and said nothing to me for over a hour.
I am my mother's caregiver, as a caregiver I need to know what, how she should do with her hand. If I need to put the brace on a certain way. If there is any other therapy that's needs to happen at home. Etc..,
Another customer in there look at me and was shocked how I was treated. After reviewing the yelp comments this place needs help..

I went to the Hale Hand center for finger braces for my arthritis. I was greeted with a cool reception and unfriendly staff. They made me four finger braces that were totally worthless and charged me $200 a piece for them. I repeatedly tried to tell them that this is not the style brace I had made before but they did not care about my concerns. I went back a few days later to speak with the owner and she was very defensive and rude in her attitude towards my request. She made me just one brace of the style I originally had wanted and didn't replace the other three. I went home and found on Amazon the material to make my own braces for $15. The people that work here are some of the rudest healthcare workers I have ever encountered. They all need training in how to treat their customers with respect. I will never use this place again!!!

I was very impressed with the Hale Hand Center. My doctor referred me due to severe arthritis in my thumbs. Making an appointment was easy and they were able to get me in fairly quickly. When I arrived I had a small amount of paperwork to fill out and then I was seen right away. My therapist, Sue, was very knowledgeable, honest and ethical. She suggested I see a hand surgeon and recommended a local doctor. She said therapy would not work with me and it would just be a waste of my therapy sessions. If I end up having surgery I will definitely be coming back here for my post-surgery therapy.

Absolutely the most rude staff I have ever encountered. As Soon as we walked in the receptionist shoved papers at me and barked "get these done as soon as possible" I told Amanda iher behavior was not conduct becoming of someone who represents an office and she should be more respectful. She got up,made a face at me and under her breath said this is bullshit, what a bitch. Needless to say I was speechless. I got the name of Sue Hale, the owner and emailed her. No response. This appointment was for my husband who now refuses to go back which of course will hinder his recovery. Very very disappointed

I went there to get my bandages removed and that's all I expected from them. I did not need therapy and I was already using my hands for different things right after the surgery (typing and other things). Funny thing is, I never requested any therapy nor any evaluation - I just needed a bandage removed. They also never asked me if I wanted any of those things. They just had me sign a bunch of authorizations.
They had me bend my hand in different directions after the bandage was removed and then measured how far I could bend my hand in different angles. I figured that was part of removing the bandages to make sure everything was OK. They were very pushy to get me to do therapy, which I had to explain to three different people why I did not want it and did not need it. They seemed agitated every time I would refuse it. They even made me explain myself to their director. She had a weird attitude of "Well, I'm not going to argue with you if you don't want it!" as if she wasn't happy with it.
Little did I know I was going to be charged for a full therapy evaluation ($144.00) and a Therapeutic Exercise ($60.00) while I was there, which was hardly a half hour. Had I known that, I would have walked out and removed the bandage myself which was an easy task. I couldn't believe it when I got the bill for whatever the insurance did not cover. Be very careful going to this place. Nobody asks you what you want to do and they never tell you what your options are. They just tell you "that's what they will have you do" and then bill you for it. I had to complain to my doctor for even sending me to this place. Not OK.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Teresa D.Satellite Beach, FL212Jul 27, 2017
