The family behind Siri's Island Café (who've also made their mark through Siri's Gourmet Burgers and Pizza) embodies the do-it-yourself philosophy. Case and point: they make pretty much everything at their restaurant from scratch, from the fresh baked burger buns to the gourmet ingredients that go in between. The chef grinds the beef from a family blend of premium cuts of steak, and they show similar attention to detail across the menu. Their gourmet pizzas, seafood, and steaks are also hand tossed, brought in fresh daily, and aged in-house. Those high-quality ingredients go a long way on the gourmet burgers and pizzas, which include a few quirkier items, such as the smoked salmon pizza and the What'Cha Ma Call It Burger made with egg, anchovies, and blue cheese dressing. Whatever diners choose, they can find something at the restaurant's full bar to wash it down.

Siri's just opened (October 2015) and I visited the first weekend. They are definitely still getting things up and running so I'm going to come back and edit my review after they've had more time.
The initial thoughts are:
1) They have a full liquor bar. You'll find many restaurants on St Pete Beach do not, so that is great. Additionally, the prices are reasonable for drinks, which is also not entirely common in our little tourist town. When I went, they didn't have Bacardi as they were not fully stocked yet; but it should be fully stocked on all the common liquors soon.
2) They cleaned up an old building that has been two other restaurants on and off over the past eight years, both of which went out of business, so the location is a curious choice. On the plus side, it's right at one of the three entrances to St Pete Beach, and right next to Corey Ave which the city has grand plans to develop into a "gulf to bay" strip of businesses attractive to both locals and tourists. The negatives are minimal parking, on a busy street, and not really within walking distance of many residences.
The furniture inside is comfortably aged lol; it's functional, but obviously far from new.
3) Had the "Pizza Burger" which sounded good on paper, billed as a burger with mozzarella, pizza sauce and pepperoni. In reality it was just mediocre, with a run of the mill burger patty on uninspiring supermarket bread. A few blocks away west is Willy's Burgers & Booze which I'd strongly recommend over Siri's strictly from a burger perspective. Similar to the south with Boulevard Burgers about a mile away. Their menu is far more than just burgers though so I'm anxious to go back and try other items.
4) The kids spaghetti & meatball is huge, and includes a salad.
5) There are some areas of the restaurant with TV's and some without; so if you prefer to not be bothered, or you prefer to watch football, you can do either. There is an actual bar to sit at as well.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

My burgers are ground in house from three different cuts of prime steak and my bread is fresh baked in house everyday. Unlike Willy's frozen patties and store bought bread. I hope you'll try it again so you can tell the difference.

The service was ex-cell-an-tay! After an extremely long drive from Indiana this morning, we arrived in St Pete Beach, and one of our first stops was Siri's. We had a late lunch today so we pretty much had the place to ourselves. They ladies who helped us were so sweet. We ordered fish and chips. The chef (seemed like an owner?) soon came out apologizing. Since they make it all fresh, it would take a little longer and wanted to offer us freshly made french fries while we waited. They were terrific! She also brought my kiddo some basalmic vinegar which was pretty tasty.
There were 3 pieces of perfectly fried fish, which were nice sized and not too greasy. After all those yummy fries, I couldn't eat it all. (That's perfectly fine, as hubby will certainly enjoy the leftovers tomorrow! )
They were so accommodating, too, and met our needs by turning up the volume so my son could watch college basketball games.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

I've visited Siri's Island Cafe twice now. Both times the food was delicious - and we sampled several different items from pizza, fish fry, chicken sandwiches, and salad. Everything they make is from scratch - their buns, french fries, hamburgers.
It has never been busy when we have been there, but the food is out of this world! Please go visit, you won't be sorry!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Beth D.Sterling, MA2521Nov 11, 2015
Since moving to Florida 3 years ago I have been very disappointed with the quality of the pizza down here, until now!!! I finally found a place that knows how to make a true NY style pizza! The place hasn't been open that long but I'm sure once the northerners discover their pizza they won't go anywhere else!
My pizza search has ended and Siri has a loyal customer in me. I look forward to trying their other items on the menu!!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Great place! We had a groupon for here and to be honest might not have made it out here without but but we are glad we did. The food was fresh and prepared really well. My wife had the Margarita. Anybody can throw toppings on some dough and bake it but the best is taking care of the bread and fresh toppings. This pizza had it all. Bread and toppings were perfectly matched. One of the top pizza's in the beach. I had an Italian Hoagie. Fresh fresh fresh! Everything made in house. The owner Byron is so cool and his food is amazing. Can't wait to come back and try something else! The story of the restaurants name was really cool. Great family owned place.

I did give it another shot, asked for fries extra crispy and no cheese... great food.
Well on my third shot I called for a Togo, the owner answered and when I said I wanted to place a Togo order he SIGHED and goes "I'm the only one here right now." I say "well if it's going to inconvenience you then never mind." He says "no it's fine"...in a tone that was CLEARLY not fine. I start to say don't worry about it but mid sentence he hung up on me. Will NEVER go back again due to that attitude. If you're too busy for a Togo order you politely say so and don't hang up on your customers.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

That was not the owner. He was the cook who kept telling people he was the chef. I am the owner. He has been fired. Wish I had known some of these problems sooner. I can always be contacted at eat@sirisislandcafe.com
Jun 10, 2016Previous reviewGot it To go. Burger was good, although I asked for no cheese and got home and there was cheese on it. Fries were good but I would have liked them a little more well done. The restaurant could use some music, it was eerily quiet. I will probably give it another shot though.

Thanks. I grind the meat for the burgers from three different cuts of prime steak and bake my own rolls in house everyday. Aloha

What a nice find! Excellent fresh food and ridiculously inexpensive. Not a fancy place-but a vet nice family run place. They bake their bread and pizza dough from scratch. The burgers are fresh ground beef they make with three cuts of beef! Don't miss the garlic fries!

The Hawaiian burger was delicious. The fries are to die for. My daughter got the cheese pizza and said it was the most delicious pizza she has had. My wife got the Philli cheese steak and loved it. Wish it was closer to home but will be making it back out here for food.
