Horrible. They lied to my bank about a refund they promised. Then they write a letter full of lies to support they 'started' to work on my computer after I just called and they said they HAND'T STARTED WORK YET. Which is it boys? The computer guy near Keller's on the Westside is SO much better, hard working and never lies! What took them 3 weeks to hold onto my computer, too Wu one afternoon. Liars, terribly unprofessional. All over $80.
Ah, I see my yelp review of February 2nd. No one they are lying. They didn't like my review and are therefore thinking this will go away. No boys, it won't. You just made it better. Cuz....well, you know why.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Your "review" is replete with inaccuracies and slander. You insisted on picking up your computer BEFORE allowing us to complete our diagnostics WITHIN the estimated time, which you were aware of and signed off on. The computer was on a technicians bench and diagnostics were being performed when you came and insisted we stop all work. You were never promised a refund nor do you merit one because we had already expended labor on your service. Additionally, Sandia Computers does not communicate with, nor have any information regarding a clients bank.
Respectfully,
Guru StuFeb 2, 2021Previous reviewCrappy communication. Dropped my computer off on a Monday and still have no information by Tuesday. They say they may get to it in a day or two. As soon as I get my computer, I am running and never looking back. highly suggest never going to this place. They are unprofessional, have bad attitudes and never do the work when they say they will. They misrepresented the time frame to boot.

No understanding or even help from surly man at the desk this morning. Maybe my problem is stupid (spill on laptop) but that doesn't justify being ugly. And at least " 8 to 16 business days" for repair. That's ridiculous. He just wanted me out of there or back in to buy a new computer. Update; Oh a good spray with electronics duster and the laptop seems good to go.
And despite the owner's condescending response - the guy WAS surly and dismissive. I was the only one there with him. Of course HE won't own his behavior. It was an extremely difficult moment for me and there was not one ounce of compassion.
We will never return.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Dear Georgia
You presented your laptop to us with liquid damage. Our long-time and much respected employee, about whom I have never received a complaint of surliness or ugliness, explained to you the difficulty of repairing electronic devices which have suffered liquid damage. It is difficult to assess the extent of such damage until the device has been dismantled, and often times the damage is so extensive that the cost of repair exceeds the value of the device. It also happens that a device will continue to function for a time after the liquid has been spilled in it. Our employee was in no way asserting that your concerns were stupid, but was merely attempting to inform you of the choices you had; whether or not to spend money for diagnostics and parts, which is non-refundable, and may not fix the problem permanently. The estimated time to repair your device included the time to order any parts needed and assemble them. He quoted you an accurate repair time. It is unfortunate that we had to be the bearer of bad news for you, but please don't blame the messenger!
Regards,

Very skilled, reasonably priced (compared to other places). Fixed my computer (very simple problem, covered by the diagnostic fee). They also alerted me to potential problems down the road.
Very slow turn-around, or they would have five stars. When they said 4-8 business days, it was 8. They're busy.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Johnny A.Columbia, MO011Jul 11, 2020
DO NOT GO HERE. This may be the worst store I have ever been to in my entire life. They overcharge parts based on who they're serving. If you know a lot about computers and you go here, they'll try less tricks on you. Otherwise, they will overcharge you, trick you, and make you think you're getting something that you aren't. Go anywhere else in town. Seriously.

THESE GUYS ARE A COMPLETE RIP OFF!! THEY ALWAYS HAVE BEEN! My wife mistakenly took her PC there instead of another shop on Wyoming which is on another review. She had some issues it being slow and the owner/so called tech called her stating that her harddrive, motherboard, memory, cpu and power supply would all have to be replaced. RIP OFF. I took it to another computer repair shop near by and the issue was easily resolved. The real problem was the HDD had bad sectors and lack of resources from excessive un-needed startup items, and malware infections. All of it was repaired for literally 1/6th the cost. Not to mention the misdiagnosis. NEVER TAKE YOUR PC TO SANDIA COMPUTERS - INCOMPETENT SCAM ARTISTS. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!

Shout out to Ace and James for being so very helpful and showing me how to get my computer backed up before I bring it in to have them work on it.

This place is awesome in price, customer service and just plain friendly. I needed a cable for my windows 7 desktop to add an additional 2 T drive and they just gave it to me. When I'm ready to let go of my old desktop , I'm going to have them custom build me one for my photography.

Steer clear. I took my laptop in for a software service (Windows 8 update issue). After a $75 diagnosis, it took them several days before they got back to me. Their "recommended solution" was to format the drive and reinstall windows for an additional $150. They didn't even know how to get past the recovery screen, which I was able to do by simply googling it.
Incompetent, overpriced and ill-trained. Again, avoid this place; you'd have better luck going about it yourself.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - James M.San Francisco, CA01Oct 10, 2019
Took my desktop PC to Sandia Computers in early September 2019. My PC would not boot, even using the Windows 10 recovery USB. I paid $75 diagnosis fee and asked that my data be recovered if they could not fix the issue. On the PC I had tax files, music, video and digital pictures I did not want to lose if at all possible. The Tech who worked on my PC was named "Bobby". Several days later I picked up my PC and was told it could not be fixed and the data could not be retrieved. After a little google research I ordered a USB to SATA adapter for my 3.5 inch hard drive. It cost $19. I was able to retrieve my data and transfer it to a new computer. I am far from a computer expert. Apparently so are the Techs at Sandia Computer.
