Otter Creek Inn

I'm a local in Alexandria Bay , been a local all my life. I'm very disappointed with how this establishment handled me sitting by the water eating a quick meal. I sure hope it wasn't the owner because they were rude as hell about it. Regardless if it's " private property " it never hurts to be nice!

We decided to go to Alex Bay to visit Boldt Castle and I booked this hotel on our 5 hour drive there. The room was very clean and could smell it was freshly cleaned when we arrived. Everything is within a short walking distance from the hotel. The hotel itself is basic, however it does have a refrigerator and tv in the room.
As stated on the website, for fresh brewed coffee, ice or microwave you will need to go to the front office. It doesn't say on the website how friendly the owners are, which made it very enjoyable to go get ice daily.

It was a great stay... they were great about last minute stays on a busy weekend .. super clean... defiantly we will be back

The lake here in upstate New York has suffered from flooding and businesses and homes have struggled. That said, my husband and I visited Otter Creek Inn and it has risen above the water! For a affordable, simplified experience that provides the necessary accommodations to getaway from the hustle and bustle this is a great place. Everything is in walking distance including Uncle Sam boat tours to Boldt Castle, a scenic park with a public beach an incredible views, the amazing Alexandria Bay boardwalk and all the treasures by the river. A 5-10 minute walk from Otter Creek Inn to the daily and nightly adventures in store around the Bay without looking for parking or meters to feed.
The owners are on premise and greet you with a smile and respect as equally given. It's a quiet and peaceful place to lay your head, fish, park your boat and keep this gem flourishing.

Small family owned motel in the 1000 lakes area. Not fancy but very clean and the staff is very friendly. It's a good place to stay for overnight.

We have been staying here for years every time we visit the thousand islands. The owners are super nice, always accommodating. The rooms are clean and affordable. It's within walking distance do everything in Abay but off the main road where it's quiet and relaxing. It's the perfect combination for a little getaway We love otter creek inn and will continue to stay here for years to come.

Are you kidding me? I stayed last night because of the Yelp reviews I read and this place is no where near what glowing reviews had to say!
Yes I saw no bugs in the room but it is as basic as you get. Th beds are uncomfortable, the amenities are scarce -the bare essentials.
The bathroom had 2bars of soap , rough cheap towels and that is it! No place to put your necessity bag ,no hair dryer ,no shampoos -nothing.
Yes there was a fridge but that and the 12 inch tv screen was as good as it gets. No coffee tea etc unless you go to the office to grab a cup.
Folks this is a basic motel that is dark and clean but no great vacation place to stay 1 star for clean

This was a great find! Had not been to 1000 islands prior and was looking for a comfy place on/near the water with room to park the truck with kayaks in the back. Debbie and Dennis were gracious hosts, very visible yet letting guests do their own thing. They've had some flooding but it does not impact your stay whatsoever. Our room was clean and comfortable but if you need luxury, this is not for you. Nice walkable location to downtown shops and restaurants and felt extremely safe the whole time there. It felt like everyone there was looking out for everyone else and that there were many returning customers at this spot. This says a lot in this day and age. We made some friends sitting outside at night that we will now have for life. We will absolutely be back and give our business to these hard working owners rather than a chain hotel.

The owners and staff are just flat out genuine good people! The rooms are clean, the hotel is on the water and within walking distance of downtown Alex Bay, the rates are more than reasonable and the staff shines.

Dennis and his team are a true class act!

I was very disappointed in this winery. The person serving us did not talk to us at all. She didn't even describe any of the wines to us. She would pour the sample and then walk away. I would not recommend this winery and I will never go back.
