I have taken my kids to just about every indoor play place in San Diego.
Our favorite of which was 'Kidsville Playtown' in Poway, CA. Unfortunately they are not in business anymore...
We have been to 'My Kids Clubhouse' ( the Poway, CA location) a handful of times now. My kids love it, there's usually always a place for the adults to sit and relax and for the most part it's very clean (the employees do a pretty good job of wiping down tables/toys and picking up the various areas as well.) There are thing that need to be done around the place - toys need to be replaced (broken balls in ball pit), certain areas need more cleaning/repair/attention than others...
The only issues I have run into are mostly with a couple of the employees... one in particular I don't think should be working at a CHILDREN's play place. Ever. She's not nice, she's abrasive and unless you are her 'real world' friend she thinks your child is the worst one in the room and treats them as such, even though it's her friend's child that's being the instigator and bully...
I will rethink buying punch-cards off of 'Groupon' for this place anymore... I think I would rather pay for a full year's membership at FunBelievable in Lakeside, CA then deal with that woman again... alas, I still has 3 more visits left... maybe I'll find out when she works and avoid those days like the friggin plague.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Will H.Reno, NV2276199Oct 19, 2011
I took the kids (I have two) here on a Saturday when the Mrs. was busy at a weekend conference. This place has everything from baby toys to toddler activities, including an area where there are tubes, slides and a ball pit for children all the way up to the age of 8 or 10. There is a little cafe area where parents can lounge and a couple glider rocking chairs to sit and relax while the children are playing. My wife got a Groupon deal to come here and I am glad she did.
Finally, as a tip, everyone needs to be wearing socks to enter, even parents; so don't forget them if you are wearing sandals that day.
This place would be a great place to have a birthday party for anyone under the age of 4 years-old (due to space, I don't think it could be a full blown, pin-the-tail on the donkey kind of party, but one where up to 10+ sets of parents and their kids can come and have a great time.
All-in-all a great atmosphere and a great location.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Hun B.Honolulu, HI133425Jun 13, 2018
My 19 month loves it here, they are very good at keeping the place clean, lots of activities for the kids, and Christine and Rebecca are awesome with kids. They have a very positive attitude, always smiles and makes them feel extra special. We have a membership there, were sooo happy we found an indoor place with AC and cafe for moms.

Came here for my nieces bday party. We reserved a room and had Tara as our host.
For a Saturday it was pretty busy as you would expect. Lots of sweaty kids running all over the place.
The room we had was a decent size and was pretty clean and organized. What suprised me the most was Tara, our host. She made sure we were on time for all the activities and was soo accomodating. She prepped the plates, the food, the tables, the decor and everything you can think of. She was involved with every kids activity and even remembered which kids were in our group when it came time to call them inside the room.
Definately worth doing a party here! Thanks for all your help today Tara! You truly made this a fun and memorable bday for my niece.
And their pizzas are good too! =)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Faun S.San Diego, CA13515May 30, 2012
Gross! I took my 3 yr old there and my 2 month as well. I would not take out my infant from the stroller even if someone paid me too. We stayed all but 20 min. it smelled like urine in the ball pits and in the climbing area. I proceeded to tell the employee and she tried to justify it left and and right.
My sister has been to the one in carlsbad. We will not be going back to any one of those locations .
We need more indoor CLEAN play areas like Kidding Around!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We are sorry to hear that you had a less than satisfactory experience at My Kids Clubhouse. I was the employee working today. I had just wiped down the entire structure and put the newly washed balls back into the ball house right before you visited this morning. After you left, I went through the entire structure looking for the smell that you talked about. I couldn't find anything. We had several playgroups come in after that and no one mentioned smelling anything foul. Both of our locations, Poway and Bonita, sanitize all of the equipment daily including the play structure. We pride ourselves on being clean and safe.

We've been here many times since it's been open and unfortunately, it's not being maintained very well and that is really unfortunate. It has so much potential! The large play structure is by far the biggest draw and is actually pretty clean and well kept. It's almost enough to make you ignore all the other stuff. But not quite.
The costumes (which are a great idea and the kids love to wear) are disgustingly filthy. Seriously... wash them or retire them. Ew! The RV/food truck thing is fun and could still be awesome, if fixed, but the food toys are few and far between which kinda makes the whole thing irrelevant. The ball pit balls need to be refilled/replaced. Lots of broken ones and so many are missing that the "ball pit experience" is gone. The baby bouncers and fabric glider chairs are gross and obviously never get washed.
The "if you're wearing a diaper" area is actually pretty good. Nothing a good cleaning and fresh batteries couldn't fix. There was one young employee who cheerfully reminded the older kids they couldn't be in there, which was nice and very much appreciated! Other than that, there was no enforcement of the rules whatsoever. Kids had hard plastic baskets in the ball pit, they were throwing hard toys and foam blocks down the slides and there was so much running and rough housing.
I did like how strict they were with the check out process! Making sure the kids wristbands matched the adults they were leaving with. Excellent!
Overall, if they would spend a little money to add/replace some small toys and give everything a DEEP CLEAN, it could be a great place again. It really does have potential. Plus there are not any other similar places nearby anymore. Don't let a lack of maintenance ruin your business, people!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shannon S.Temecula, CA509615189Aug 21, 2011
Great place to take the kids on a hot or a rainy day to play. MKC staff is always patient with the kids, and is friendly to families who are checking in.
MKC has an area for babies (under 2) and the rest of the place is for kids ages 2-7. Kids who are older then 7 seem to get a little aggressive with younger children, and they seem to get bored faster than the younger kids.
There are two bathrooms here, ample adult seating, tables and chairs to enjoy snacks you brought from home, or snacks you can purchase at the cafe located inside.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Megan G.San Diego, CA081Jul 17, 2014
Not my idea of a "clean" play place for kids, everything is very out dated. Which also makes it look like things are very old and dirty, the snack bar doesn't look great to even order from.
This is a place where moms come and hang out without playing or keeping an eye on there children. Reason for the 1 star is because they do have an equipment set up which is neat and they give you wristbands to match your child to make sure they don't leave with anyone else.
But as for the women who work here, they don't look friendly or welcoming. They also had a camp going on which was I guess a drop off day care type thing, where the kids just run wild without there parents being here and the women are suppose to hold down the fort of the place and watch the 6+ kids.
Also it's a kids place , and children with diapers are here, so you would think they would have a changing table in the bathroom, well they don't!
So I don't think we will be coming back,
It's just not worth $10 to play in a non welcoming nor controlled environment.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Amy Y.San Diego, CA572179118Mar 6, 2009
What I loved about this place was that it was the first place I'd been to where the adults can go in the play structure with the kids. And it wasn't a small play structure! There are cushioney obstacle courses throughout and ended with a 3-lane slide. Other kids and parents were nice; which is always a plus.
There's a huge area for the younger kids with toy kitchens, bus, and costumes. And another area for infants and toddlers with a mini-roller coaster of their own.
Small area for parents to sit with tables and chairs; and they sell snacks there too. Free water.
I didn't expect it to cost as much as it did. It would be worth it to pay for the 20 dollar membership if I knew we would go at least 3 times a month. But there's so much to do in SD..
There has to be bigger and better out there.. Let's see...Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Hey El El E.San Diego, CA4514210May 15, 2008First to Review
Don't forget your socks! Germaphobes have a place to bring your kids without being grossed out. I didn't quite understand the "socks only" policy until I actually went through the play area with my son. Yeah . . . the socks really make a difference . . . especially with those icky-sweaty kids. You don't feel grossed out when your 1 year old puts his hand in his mouth after touching the play area that some 7 year old put his slimy feet on.
It's a really clean play place for the kids to go nuts while you sit back and do your bills or chat with a friend. The staff is pretty attentive, even during birthday parties. So, go ahead! Let your kids run amok in the play area 20-30 times, give them lunch from the little cafe, run amok 2-5 more times, get in the car, and it's nap time for 3 hours!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
