Kendra nails my vision every single time! Everyone at the salon is kind and welcoming and creates an awesome atmosphere for their clients. They always run on time which is great to be able to plan your day around your hair appointment. They book using the Vagaro app which is a huge timesaver not having to wait until business hours to call.

I hate to be this person but here it goes.

I first went to Mint for a regular hair cut. I've been looking for a new stylist since my old one recently quit the business. Kendra did my hair cut and it was great, I love how it looked. We discussed that I wanted to color my hair and I've been toying with the thought for about a year maybe longer. My hair was all my natural brown color. I scheduled the appointment, all good no complaints there.

My second visit I had asked for an ombré/balayage type deal since my hair was dark and I wanted to leave my roots dark for a low maintenance thing. I showed her a photo and away we went. When we finished I noticed she has given me highlights and just left my roots out. Not exactly what I wanted but I felt I could deal with it and of course I was too embarrassed to mention anything. I slept on it and decided it wasn't what I had asked for and that I should speak up. I called today and mentioned my issues and they got me back in right away to correct it. Great!

Today, the day of my third visit I was already extremely nervous and I had every right to be. I showed Kendra my photos again and had mine as a comparison to show what I really wanted. I thought we were on the same page this time so I had the fixing begin. This time she said she was going to lighten my ends which was fine with me. The problem is it turned out bright yellow minus a couple super light parts and the color isn't blended at all. You can clearly see "steps" or blocks of color in my hair. I of course am I huge baby and said I liked it again and I thought I did before I left. I thought I could deal with what I had until I looked in my car mirror.

To make matters worse this was bleach so I feel like my hair is completely ruined. I sobbed the entire drive home and for a couple hours after. I was inconsolable and even now when I look in the mirror I just can't look at myself without feeling horrible.

I don't know how to even "fix" this and if it can even be fixed at this point. I gave two stars because my cut was great and the staff was friendly but I cannot recommend color here at this time. I'm praying I can find a way to fix my hair and for now I have to keep it in up-dos to hide it.

UPDATE: Changed my review to 1 star. I called the salon in tears (despite my best efforts not to cry) yesterday. All I wanted was a refund on my original service. They told me they don't give refunds and I can come back a third time and have it fixed. I do not want to go back a third time and have my hair ruined further. Could you honestly blame me!?

I've spoke with a couple other stylists in the area and they agreed that what was done to my hair was horrible and all around a bad job. It's going to cost me hundreds of dollars to get it all corrected somewhere else. At this point I'm desperate to look somewhat normal and I'm embarrassed to have my hair down in public. Please please beware of color service here.

TLDR; Doesn't know how to balayage or do a proper ombré , messed up hair color big time, doesn't refund, have to pay lots of money to get it fixed elsewhere because I don't trust this place anymore.

I stumbled upon Mint last weekend as I was driving past it and decided to do some further research and schedule an appointment for a haircut.

The fact that they use the Vagaro app for scheduling makes it easy to find a time that fits with your schedule and it also tells you the base price of the service with each stylist, so you can find one that fits your budget. It was easy to make an appointment and get it within a week.

Everyone at the salon is very friendly and it's apparent they want all customers to have the best possible experience.

I got my hair cut by Sarah and she was nice and listened to what I told her I wanted. She made sure to ask before she cut more and made sure I left the salon happy. The appointment didn't feel rushed at all, which I've experienced in the past, and I left the salon feeling pleased with my haircut and wanting to come back in again.

I've been a client of Liz for over 10 years now, but this past weekend, I had the pleasure of working with Liz and Abbey for my wedding. They did my hair, as well as my 4 bridesmaids and 2 junior bridesmaids. Everyone was thrilled with their styles, and everyone's hair stayed in place clear through the after party! Thank you, Liz and Abbey, for doing such a beautiful job! This is the reason I drive all the way from Chicago to see you. :)

Been here a few times for a cut. Very nice, clean, modern feel. Loooooooooove the wash house (I think it's called) where they do really nice shampoos. They are environmental friendly, which is why I picked them. Also close to home!

I believe they are family owned and operated which is a plus!

Went here for the first time yesterday! I wasn't pleased with my former stylist and had made a mistake trying to box dye at home. Liz did a fantastic job coloring and highlighting my hair! She actually listened to my concerns & ideas, and i've never walked out of a hair appointment so pleased with the way it turned out.

Just moved to Lockport from the city and was looking for a new place to get my hair cut and a blow out before a wedding. Mint Salon was great. Kendra was my stylist and was so nice and very knowledgeable about products and best way to style my hair. You could tell all the customers and stylists were very friendly and loved that welcoming vibe. Very affordable as well which was great!!!! Will definitely be back!

Staff here is amazing!!! Family run place, was recommended to me by a friend of mine. I was not disappointed. Knowledgeable ladies who keep guys looks sharp and on their game! Knowledgable about products for men too, and yes, they do make a difference. Ask for Abbey and be prepared to get 'Shampoo Drunk' in the Mint wash house!!! It's about 10 min of head shampooing/massaging amazingness!!

I have had my hair styled by both Liz and Kendra. Both cuts have been great! Most recently, Kendra took 2 different pictures I showed her and meshed into a perfect cut. I was able to style it at home almost as well as Kendra did in the salon (not AS good of course!). The highlights she did were perfect too. Subtle, but still noticeable. I'm so happy with the results.

Excellent experience and hair cut! Went here for the first time last week. Abbey is fantastic. She listened to what I was looking for in regards to a haircut and then whisked me off for an awesome-smelling shampoo with amazing scalp massage. Abbey did a great job with the hair cut, and I left with exactly the cut I had hoped for. The atmosphere at Mint is relaxing and everyone working there is very pleasant. The experience was so nice that I am very much looking forward to my next haircut. See you soon Abbey!
