My boyfriend went to go get his hair cut down here in Panama City beach, he came back and the hair dresser gave us a list of recommendations and one for this place saying "they had the best steak in town" we are from St.Louis MO and when we heard this we were kinda like ... "yeahhhh right at a Mexican restaurant?" So we went and I'm giving five stars because first, our server Cori was SOO nice, fast and made us laugh a lot! When we where done eating she brought over a list of other restaurants and brunch spots we should try! Sat down and talked with us for a bit! These days servers don't have much conversations with you but Cori was THE BEST, thanks Cori!! Second, I got the Filet Steak with sweet potato and asparagus...LET ME TELL YOU!!!! THEY HAVE THE BEST STEAK IN TOWN! I couldn't believe it! Cooked perfectly and tasted like heaven.
My boyfriend got steak tacos which where amazing but he said he regretted his decision and should have gotten the steak it's that good!
They bring out chips and salsa and the salsa made your tastebuds go wild! We ordered some cheese to go with it and guess what? Also amazing!
Highly recommend this place and will be coming back every time we visit Panama City beach!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 9, 2022
We tried this place for lunch, and we were seated right away. We started with their fresh guacamole with chips and salsa. Their guacamole was very bland as compared to other Mexican restaurants that add some salt, black pepper and spices to their guacamole.
Then we ordered some margaritas and they were too sweet for my liking. Their shrimp ceviche was very disappointing. I ordered it because the menu said it was award winning and came highly recommended. I didn't like it because the tomato sauce used in there tasted like ketchup and that's not how I remember shrimp ceviche. There was no lemon or any other flavor. I don't recommend this appetizer unless you like tomato ketchup taste.
As for the entree, we ordered their chicken fajita, and they were okay. It was nothing special and again the chicken used was quite bland. For a Mexican restaurant, I must say their flavor sucks and they need to add more spices and flavor to their food.
Overall I don't think I will return here because there are other Mexican restaurants in the area that are better. Also the service could be improved as well. Pics of the food are below!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Bayley B.TN, TN075Jun 29, 2023
We frequent this restaurant as locals because it is walking distance from our home and our kids love to play on their playground while the adults eat chips and salsa and have a drink. It's a win win for that.
The chips and salsa are subpar at best, sweet salsa imo.
The ground beef has always seemed under seasoned if we choose to eat that.
We do really enjoy the fajitas from here. The steak is always good quality!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ashley A.FL, FL0117Feb 25, 2023
AMAZING FOOD! Great service! Dj had just started her shift and she was amazing! I felt bad for all the kids she had to dodge to and from our table but with the exception of how loud the place is and the fact it's crawling with kids (we learned they have an on-site playground). The food was delicious!! Highly recommend the Spicy Diablo shrimp ( only for those who like their stuff hot and spicy.) And the Spicy Chihuahua margarita was delicious as well! Beautiful murals around the restaurant. Thank you for an amazing experience.

Disgusting! The chips and salsa are the only thing worth eating. Ever since the new ownership, this place has been graded below Taco Bell!

Suddenly closed their doors mid day and left all their staff without a job. Changing stories as to why. Food has gone terribly downhill. Wouldn't recommend but will never go to this place again. Shame on you!!

A local favorite! We keep coming back because the food and service has always been 5-star. We have enjoyed all things from steaks to yummy Mexican cuisine! Service was excellent as well!
They also were so sweet to help celebrate my moms birthday.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Bryan P.Panama City, FL61615Jul 24, 2023
Went to try the new brunch menu. Food had little to no flavor and chips did not have any seasoning, salsa also very watery and flavorless.

This restaurant was recommended to us for Mexican food while we were vacationing in the area. There is free parking available in the front parking lot and the exterior is cutely designed. Service was slow, and food and ambiance were average. Some dishes were tasty, such as the steak burrito, while others tasted like college dining hall food (the Durango).

Nothing about this place is Mexican sadly, except for the appearance of the restaurant. The food was definitely not "Mexican". If you are looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant I recommend taqueria el paisano. Food Overpriced, terrible service, hairs in food, I could go on and on.
