I have been suffering from painful plantar fascitis in my left foot for nearly a year. I got expensive cortisone injections and purchased expensive shoe inserts and nothing helped. Three sessions with Lisa have given me back a healthy pain free foot! Magic! I'm telling everyone i know with unresolved pain issues to contact Lisa. Not only does my foot have a new lease on life, zerobalancing has created a sense of wellbeing that makes me feel 20 years younger. THANK YOU!

Lisa Schumacher is one of the very best in the business, in my opinion. She offers a variety of healing experiences, from deeply restorative deep tissue massage to Zero Balancing, a manual therapy that brought me surprising and quick relief from a rotator cuff injury as well as bursitis. I've also sampled her facial rejuvenation micro-cupping massage, which brought better tone and radiance to my face. She -and her work- are a gift.

What can I say? Lisa's amazing. Ive been to her for massages, cupping, facial rejuvenation, and have recently settled into her zero balancing during which she makes sure energy is moving freely at every level: body/mind/spirit/connection. I see her once a month. She takes time to check in with how I am and what my intention is. Which means that every session is different and always just what I need. The previous reviews captured her intuitive healing and continual (adventurous) learning that arise from her deep commitment to serve.

I've been a bodyworker in private practice in DC for the last 22 years. I have experienced many practitioners and many modalities during that time. Lisa is a phenomenal practitioner. Her curiosity and wonder about the human body, its functions, and its ability to heal itself is boundless. She's a dedicated student that explores and masters each modality that she adds to her repertoire of skills to meet her clients needs. I have experienced her massage, massage cupping, and Zero Balancing work. She practices each with presence and the intention to serve her clients best and highest good. And you can feel Reiki flowing through her hands as well!

After a very emotionally draining couple of weeks, I came to Lisa yesterday and requested a longer session to address my sheer exhaustion. She had the flexibility and willingness to do so for which I was truly grateful. I experienced massage cupping for the first time and LOVED it! I arose from the table resurrected, relaxed yet energized. I awoke this morning from a deep and restful sleep, my joints fluid and energized, and my disposition was of contentment.

I highly recommend Lisa's work. You'll be happy you made the call.

Lisa Schumacher is an excellent massage therapist. I initially went to her to see if she could relieve my chest congestion, which had lingered after several bouts of pneumonia. I was not disappointed: using cupping therapy and massage, Lisa loosened the congestion in my chest so I could breathe deeply and freely. Impressed with Lisa's skill and professionalism, I asked her if she could do facial cupping, something I had recently seen promoted as "the no-cut face lift" (I was approaching my 70th birthday and it seemed to me that my face was rapidly becoming dryer and more wrinkled). In a series of 10 weekly sessions, which included facial cupping and massage, Lisa's gifted hands brought new life, color, and firmness to my skin and sharpened the definition of my facial bone structure. My husband says I look years younger, and, when I look in the mirror, I know he is right.
A massage with Lisa is a totally relaxing, almost spiritual, experience-- restoring and re-enlivening body, mind, and spirit. I will continue to go to her for facial cupping and facial rejuvenation massage as well as any other massage needs I have in the future. She is terrific!

I learned about Lisa from one of her colleagues, an excellent masseuse, who highly recommended her microcupping facials. I've found them truly rejuvenating, as billed, and deeply relaxing. Not at all a standard facial. I've also gone to Lisa for massage and zero balancing and have been so impressed that I've both touted her to friends and brought family in for much-appreciated treatments. As others have said, she listens carefully, challenges herself to continue learning, and is wonderfully skilled.

Lisa Schumacher and I have been bartering for over a year. I pay for the amazing work she does in Zero Balancing, massage cupping, facial rejuvenation, and plain manila massage with what I have to offer, which is Trager flavored with Active Isolated Stretching and massage. I posted the following review originally on a listserv for other massage therapists because we have our own set of needs that Lisa is uniquely qualified to meet.

Do you ever feel like getting an hour of bodywork that addresses it all: that hits the reset button for your bones and muscles, your mind and nervous system, and maybe even tweaks your soul; your energy system? That's too much to expect, that's crazy silly, in fact, right? Go to Lisa Schumacher for a shift in your expectations. She has a unique set of skills -- zero balancing, massage cupping (which she has just about mastered with one course and a truckload of commitment/practice), and facial rejuvenation. She's good at all of them and she's more, much more than the sum of those parts. The ZB is mysterious because it really does treat both body and energy systems. It's simple and orderly... and it goes deep. When I'm feeling depleted, it's restorative. When I'm wound up and wired, it soothingly grounds me. Even a few minutes seems to reset my buttons. With the massage cupping, Lisa has reduced an old and stubbornly unchanging scar on my shoulder from ugly to barely noticeable. The massage cupping leg work makes you feel lighter, more mobile, and has the added benefit of slimming for those of us who need it. Lisa is combining facial rejuvenation with massage cupping (miniature cups) on the face. I've had it twice. Both times I left and forgot all about it, and both times I met with friends who asked why I looked so radiant that day.

Most of all, it's Lisa's warmth and presence that I enjoy. When I pass through the door of her office, I suddenly realize all the "stuff" I've been holding from my clients -- their aches, their complaints, their demands and personality quirks. I allow myself to feel all I've been holding because now that I've arrived, I can clear myself of all that -- hit the reset button -- without even talking about it or going over it in any specific way, just by receiving Lisa's work.

      First to Review

I was on a trip to 5-day trip to DC and had a bout of back spasms and the beginning of sciatica -- I know from experience that the best thing I can do in that situation is to take ibuprophen and get to a good body-work person. Lisa was recommended to me and was available the next day. What a truly terrific session. She used a number of different techniques, from "zero-balancing" to cupping massage (think oversized suction cups that apply amazing-feeling upward pull as they were moved across across my back), followed by long, deep-but-not-too-deep massage strokes with very warm salt-crystal rocks -- INCREDIBLE! Her place is really nice, calm and clean and she's funny, relaxed and really skilled. GO!
