Highly recommend them to everyone that values their time and life! I love this place!! Adahae the center manager is a wonderful manager, instructor and healer. I have gone to workshops, classes and private sessions with him and I really enjoyed every second of it. I am very grateful to finally find a center full of love, energy and healing! You can't even compare!!! I highly recommend them and would def continue with them for more awakenings, healing and of course the yoga and Tai Chi.
      Thank you all. :)

Be VERY CAREFUL - google Dahn Yoga before joining lifetime membership - they are CULT organization. i repeat CULT.

Lifetime membership is about $3,000 -$4,000 and is not refundable. it doesn't stop there, they will keep pressuring you to sign up for more workshops.

      Things that i noticed:

      1) Why do i have to wear all white uniform? I have to buy this, too? Why???
      2) the instructor told me if i can clean their bathroom. Why should i clean their toilet? It was so obscure, i thought i heard her wrong.
      3) the first workshop where everyone cries and share their most intimate/painful experiences - The instructor will use your stories against you to sign up for more workshop in the future.
      4) when i told her i'm broke, she told me "oh, money shouldn't matter. I have a member who cashed his whole retirement fund to dedicate our practice. Now he's with us."

      Isn't this SCARY????

PLEASE BE CAREFUL. Keep IN MIND that practicing yoga shouldn't cost a fortune.

I was in D.C visiting my cousin and I experienced a wonderful place to meditate and relax. The staff was very inviting and the exercises very unique and uplifting to say the least. I went twice that week and I would decently go back again the next time I visit if I have the time.

      This place is CREEPY.

I had a free pass for a "yoga" class and so decided to try it out. It was unlike any yoga class I've ever been to. Instead of poses we counted to 10 and slapped our stomachs. I tried to keep an open mind (all yoga is a little odd after all), so I decided to join.

A couple hours after registering, I reconsidered--just google "Dahn yoga cult'. So I returned to the center for a refund-- they argued with me for 15 minutes. They said they could not give me a refund because they were there to "help me" and that Dahn yoga will lead to my happiness. WTF. In the end I got my money back...and learned to do my research ahead of time.

Avoid this place. It's not yoga.

sorry to say i've had one of the worst experiences with a business with this dahn yoga.

i should have known something was off when a saleslady came OUT OF THE STORE to talk to me, when i was taking a look at one of their signs.

but i was low, and i let her talk me into trying it out.

then the high-pressure sales pitches, masquerading as concerns for my health, began. they hadn't even hoodwinked me before they were asking about my friends/co-workers. there are all kinds of scams like the 'yoga' classes that are not yoga classes or the 'treatments' that are not treatments. your'e own workout clothes aren't even good enough--dahn wants you to buy their own, ugly, cult-like karate(?) robes!

RUN, do not walk, away from dahn if you come anywhere near it! i wouldn't be surprised if it is exposed as a cult someday!

these people are con artists!!!! i expect to see them shut down at some point, after a government investigation....

I am just terribly sad and broken at the treatment that I have received from my supposed "friends". After all the money I spent, all the classes I attended, all the classes I have taught, I would think that you would have stood by me in this quest. Unfortunately, I was terribly, terribly wrong. I guess that the money that you take in is REALLY the end game for dahn, no matter what you say and say and say.
I want my $50.00 refunded to me immediately.

      10-3-14 email to customer service

I received my $1000 check today. I need to reiterate that the refund took OVER 2 Months for Customer Service get to me and I had to repeatedly request it by phone, text, and by email. Since I had requested this refund through my local dahn center prior to my formal request, the total time to get this almost total refund was over 6 MONTHS! By Any standard, that is outrageous and excessive.

My previous refund too 4 MONTHS to receive from Customer Service after asking for the refund through my local dahn center so total time for that refund was almost 1 YEAR. Again, By Any Standard, that is outrageous and excessive.

You had the nerve to withhold $50.00 of my refund WITHOUT ANY EXPLANATION. I want that $50.00 refund immediately. Consider this to be my THIRD CERTIFIED LETTER. It is unconscionable that an organization supposedly devoted to peace and good will would treat its members in this fashion. I will contact Ilchi Lee directly and also his staff, and my local dahn center and Dami. If that does not work, I will go to the press. I am exceedingly angry and disappointed.

After all the money I spent on dahn and all the teaching I did, I feel as if I have been thrown away and treated very, very badly.

I feel bad writing this review, because the people that operate this studio are very nice, and they clearly have people that regularly attend classes and swear by it. But I think it's important to clarify what this studio is before people spend money checking it out and expecting something different.

I didn't google Dahn yoga before I attended, I thought it was just a name of yoga studio and it happened to be downtown. But it turns out Dahn is a very specific type of practice that is NOT yoga. I am disappointed the institution incorporates "yoga" into its name when nothing about it is yoga. It's a Korean based practice (not Indian Sanskrit-based, which is where yoga comes from) and is much more meditative and Tai-chi based. Saying that, there are people who like this type of exercise, but its not for me. I want to sweat and hurt after class (and real yoga can definitely make you do that!), and these classes were far too brain focused for my liking.

I hope that helps for people who were not sure what it is.

I'm looking for a yoga class for beginners, close to my work real close within about a block radio us, and a fun environment atmosphere and last but not least free classes. I'm in need of a slow stretching to med. impact classes. I have a herniated disc lower lumbar, osteoarthritis, and other medical issues. I've been drawn to the signage when I saw the healing part, I walked in and automatically a lady came out in the white martial like karate clothes and started asking me if she can take me to the back room so I followed and she asked me a few questions then asked me to lay down while she does an energy whatever it was test, it hurt when her hand came right above the left breast where my heart was, it was like a pierced like pain. I totally like told her to stop and I stood up and she said something was wrong that I held something painful within. I was like no way what did she do to me. I walked out to my husband and said to them I'll think about it. They wanted to start payment and asked for a automatic deposit which was expensive, and I said oh no.
I never went back. Well one day this lady came into my work and was looking around and I asked if she was in need of help so she said yes. I helped her and before she left she gave me her business card and I said oh your from the Dahn Yoga? She is a manager who just moved back from Arizona and that she was back to take on the business and to bring in more people. so she asked me if I would like to schedule an appointment with her, she would show and explain more of the classes. I told her that I've been there and was not pleased with what my last experience was, she looked at me and said she would offer me a free consultation session with her and that she would carefully let me understand what their "YOGA" class was really all about. So I said OK I'll agreed to meet with her. To make a long story short, I went and I was told to change clothes, go to a room with her, then start to jump up and down and to yell, hit my chest while jumping then she said keep doing that repeatedly and to let all what was hurting me. She said it was all in my stomach now, that I had all kinds of stuff going on in my stomach and to yell so I can release everything. I was like what the hell, this is no yoga, stretching exercises class. So after we went into the front and then she gave me a bag which contained a white pair of karate pants and a book, and that I need to give her a payment of $$$ a deposit and so forth, I looked at my husband and he couldn't have pulled me out of there quick enough. I told her to just don't ever approach me or come to my work ever. So yes it's a cult like place be aware people.
I really hope I can find a yoga class with no pressure what so ever.

I was informed about Dahn Yoga when I visited the Health Expo. This has been a great experience. I'm learning how to connect my mind, body and energy. I especially enjoyed the Magnetic Meditation.

Dahn Yoga stretching! What an awesome class with Laura!!! Thank you!!!!

The facilities are clean and conveniently located.
You do not have to buy/wear a uniform or bring a yoga mat.
I have practiced Yoga off-and-on for many years before finding Dahn Yoga. I agree, that it is completely different than many studios I have been to, in that it pulls from many different eastern traditions. However, the principles that focus on mind-body-spirit connection are the same.
I have only been practicing for 6 Months and have lost 4 dress sizes. More importantly, I have learned to listen to my body and use tapping and intestine exercises to confront and dissolve chronic pain and discomfort from gallbladder issues and other GI problems I've had my whole life. My doctor is amazed at my physical progress I've made in just 6 months of practice!
The variety of classes/techniques offered, core strengthening, tai chi, ji-gam, dahn mu do, qigong, brain respiration, etc; make each class challenging and different. Like everything in life, Dahn Yoga may not appeal to everyone; but I still urge everyone to at least try a few classes to see if you receive any benefit.
The classes and lifetime membership can be pricey, I agree! It is worth every penny when I compare the benefits I have received from Dahn Yoga to the benefits my husband receives from his UFC Gym membership. And I love going to his UFC Gym too!
People who say it's too expensive and give up, perhaps should try the online membership option at changeyourenergy.com! For $14.95 a month, you have unlimited access to all live steaming classes (like Skype yoga). Or for $4.95 a month, you can have the general membership which gives you unlimited access to their videos, a great bargain!
