I've used Jerry twice now and have been very happy. He answers his phone and responds quickly. I needed service on a Sunday morning with no heat. He was over quickly and had my furnace up and running. I would, also, say he is professional and friendly. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.
I've seen a couple of low ratings, but they were for services other than HVAC. Based on my experience and that it is Jerry's Heating and Cooling it makes me wonder of those people are putting their review on the wrong business. Jerry's Heating & Cooling came to my home on a service call to figure out why my air conditioner was creating condensation on my basement floor and was not blowing out cold air consistently. He came in and hooked up his gauges and informed me that I was low on freon and that was the reason for my condensation. He NEVER even inspected the air conditioner. Turns out I have a cracked drain pan and that was the reason for the water on my basement floor. When I informed them of the problem they told me that I would have to pay for an additional service call for them to come out. I told him that if their technician inspected the air conditioner he would have easily seen that the reason for the water. I gave them 2 stars because they did get my air conditioner working however for a $500 charge you would think that would include an inspection of the air conditioner.

I had a problem with soffit that pulled out of the track & the fascia cap was loose as well and soffit pieces ended up on my lawn. I went on my roof to see what was going on. Discovered I didn't have ladders to reach the areas needed nor was I warm & fuzzy about going up to the roof peak either. Enter Jerry, I saw on yelp that he was recommended, he came out same day, was very personable , did a nice job, price was reasonable. I also discovered that thru discussion that Jerry and I had a few mutual acquaintances and some things in common. Nice guy, I do recommend him & its highly likely he will take care of ur issue on the same day as his van is well stocked w/ things he needs to do the job on the spot.

It was 90 degrees and my ac went out. After a horribly uncomfortable night I called Jerry's. He said he was on his way, and arrived within the hour.
Jerry is the best. He gave a very honest and clear assessment of a simple problem. He could've convinced me I needed a new unit, but he didn't and had my unit up and running immediately. He is a saint of hvac in my book!

Called Jerry last weekend my air conditioner had been out.
Jerry answered his phone and came right out.
He quickly diagnosed issue and gave me very reasonable quote to replace unit.
By Wednesday we had new unit running and very happy.

I was having issues with my central air unit making a loud noise and not getting cold so I contacted Jerry's Heating to come take a look. Jerry was very prompt to respond and came to service within the hour. The issue wasn't as bad as my husband and I thought it would be. Jerry was able to quickly resolve at a responsible cost. Now the kids complain about how cold the house is instead of how hot it is. Jerry was very professional, friendly, and an honest business man. I would definitely recommend him for service and use him again in the future.

My girlfriend noticed the heat in my house not properly working. After calling some of her friends we looked on Yelp and found Jerry. Jerry was very understanding of the situation, showed up not long after the call, and worked on the heater. Jerry replaced a board in my heater, and explained the best way to have my thermostat set. I would recommend Jerry to any one. Jerry was very knowledgeable, and worked quick. If I have any more issues I will definitely be calling Jerry first.

Our AC went out on and we called several companies. Jerry's did say they would come but not when, about an hour later the tech was in the driveway. Would've liked a little better communication, but they did arrive quickly so I will not complain about that. The technician changed the capacitor, though it did seem like maybe this was more than that, and the unit started right up. He then gave me the quote (after he had already installed the part) of $285, I paid and he left. About 30 minutes later the AC died again. I called the technician who said it must be the fan motor. He said he would call me in the morning with a quote, but I might want to just replace the whole unit. The next morning he called and said the part alone would be $1100. I agreed to have him take measurements for a new unit. In the meantime I looked up the price of a new fan motor and found the OEM part online from 3 different suppliers ranging in price from $220 to $350. My radar was now way up. He came over and went to look at the unit in the basement and immediately told my wife that the furnace is notorious for issues and he might be forced to replace it because it's a safety issue, but he wouldn't know until they removed the AC unit. We have had zero issues with the furnace at all. As of the last time it was cold it was working just fine. My wife asked him to call me at work, he did and told me all that plus accused me of pressing a rollout reset button repeatedly. I have lived in this home for 13 years and never, not once, touched that button. I didn't even realize it was there. This is when I told him we were going to get more opinions. We have since received a quote from a competitor that came in $500 less for a comparable AC unit. We have not decided what we will do, I may just replace the fan motor myself. However, one thing is for sure, Jerry's heating and cooling will not be getting one more dime from me. They already took $285 from me to get my AC unit working for less than 1 hour. Congratulations, you took me for that, you won't get anything else.
I am now replying to Jerry's comment below. Sir, talk to your tech Josh. He not only was going to charge me $1100 to do the fan motor, he claimed the part was $1100. There is NOTHING I've said that was not true. As I said above, I am not upset about the lack of communication. I am not upset about timeliness at all. I totally understand that sometimes you may think the issue is one thing and it turns out to be another. That was all fine. But, sir, I WILL NOT ease up on the unethical way your technician conducted himself. I was perfectly fine with everything, until I looked up the price of the condenser fan motor that he claimed was $1100 and found it for less than $350 at several sources. THAT is where the problems began here and got worse. I have no motivation whatsoever to randomly speak negatively about your business. I was willing to have your business put in a new AC for me because of a bad fan motor! I was happy. Wow. We dont charge 1100.00 to do a fan motor ever.
Our practice on every service call is to repair exactly what is needed nothing more. We dont fish for extras that are not needed.
Being told we can say exactly when the tech will arrive, is because its some of the hottest days of the year right now and we are very backed up, but what we are doing if a tech is a block or two away, they squeeze that in for timely purposes.
If your motor fired up, then died. We have no way of knowing until you inform us.
We do the best we can out here and yet at the same time 14 hours a day right now is hard on us all.

I just want to take a moment to appreciate and thank Jerry for the prompt, professional, ease, candor and reasonable pricing! We woke up to a very cold cold home- turns out our furnace wasn't blowing any hot air! I live in the Liberty Grove area in Plainfield- he was at my home within 30 minutes of the initial call. I texted my home address and questions about pricing and credit card options. Jerry worked on the furnace efficiently. He provided great feedback on furnace maintenance. I loved that he accepts visa/MasterCard at the end of service. His CC service is Square- it will text you a copy of the receipt. Now we have some warm air coming through our home!!

Update: after receiving such great service from Jerry last time, I called him again to ask about having him install baseboard trim in my house. Called and left a voicemail. Sadly, I never received a call back from him and ended up doing it myself because it needed to get done. Maybe this was a fluke, but put a bad taste in my mouth. We've since found another contractor who always calls back to do the repairs that I don't feel comfortable doing.

Jul 27, 2015Previous reviewAfter getting a high quote from another carpenter to replace my entry door, I took to Yelp to find another person. I called Jerry on a Saturday morning and left a message. Within 30 minutes, he called back. I gave him a little information over the phone on what needed to be done and he gave me a quote. His price was much lower than the quote I received elsewhere. I told him great, when can we get it scheduled to be done. He originally asked about Monday (remember, this call took place on Saturday morning) but both my wife and I would be at work. Then he offered to come that day and said he could be there in an hour. Went out of his way to come and take care of my project...not just the same day...but arrived an hour later.
When he arrived, he noticed an issue with our door. Our existing front door has a window above it and it was installed as one whole unit. The problem was, the new one we had to be put in did not have a window above it. It was just the door. Jerry showed me how the window sits on top of the door jamb. He was uncertain if he would be able to replace the door because of this. And at that point, if he would have said he couldn't do it, I wouldn't have blamed him one bit. But he said, I think I can still do it and keep the window in place. So he got right to work. When we were given the original quote to replace the door from someone else, they said it would take over a half a day to a full day to replace it. Jerry was finished with the whole project in just a shade over 2 hours.
The work on the door was exceptional! Next time we need a repair made, we'll be calling Jerry!
