Izzy's fresh Perch was delicious!
It was lightly breaded and plentiful.
Fries and coal slaw were great as well. They also had fresh Pickerel, but we didn't order that. We experienced fast and friendly service! We were passing through from Pittsburgh, PA.

Have in the past gone to this restaurant. The food was excellent! Decided that it was time to go there for their fish and chips.
Mistake. Ordered the pickerel. Came with the most disgusting fries ever, the fish was so terrible I couldn't eat it. A teaspoon of coleslaw, one thing that was good was the bun and butter.
Noticed that the decor is becoming very old, needs updating.
Figured not to complain, as most of the staff were younger and probably needing the job.

I expected a nice fillet of haddock,I got a small piece of frozen fish,not sure what it was. dinner includes handfull fries and teeny{ think ketchup cup} of coleslaw for 17.99.
Service was great.

Just really good fish!!! I had the perch and hubby had the haddock. Probably quite busy in the summer but we were there in Nov.

I had the perch with poutine, both were delicious. They source locally what they serve as much as possible, except the poutine gravy and curds which are the real thing coming from Quebec City. So make sure you get the poutine because it's the real deal and awesome.

What a fantastic spot in Port Burwell. Nice indoor dining and a huge out door patio overlooking the river and the Objibiwa submarine. Izzy (Isabelle ) is an amazing cook and the pickerel dinner was the best I've ever had as was the perch , my wife loved and the homemade fries were delicious. A bonus was Izzy is from Quebec and the poutine is by far the best you will find anywhere. The menu is quite diverse and everything is cooked from scratch and fantastic . I will be back every time I'm here and highly recommend it. Izzy came out and chatted with us about the amazing history of the restaurant which so added to an incredible dining experience . Great little restaurant with a lovely little outside patio overlooking the Port Burwell Otter Creek channel and the historic HMCS submarine. Best perch burger and perch dinner around

What a disappointment! Service was less than satisfactory. Portions were very small! Got perch burger, it turned out to be two small pieces of fried perch on a cold ban, left starving!!!!$40 for a dinner for two should be enough to at least leave full! Do not recommend, and will not be going returning unless I am offered a refund!

Schooner's is great. Newer owner has completed extensive renovations. Outside patio is so much fun in the summer. Meal are good and priced reasonably. Owner is very accommodating for any special needs.

Location 5/5: right on a central street with best view on submarine.
Price 3/5: $15+ for local fish dish
Service 5/5: Friendly, useful, polite, take plastic
Food 4/5: fresh, local.
