Institute of Harmonic Massage

I am not a big massage guy but I needed to try something different to get rid of the pain in my lower back. I normally go to a Chiropractor once a month to keep me tuned up. However, I was having severe pain that his services were not completely helping.

I had heard good things about this place and had a nice conversation with John the first time I called. I was particularly impressed that he asked me a lot of questions about my problem. He suggest I get an MRI before they worked on me. I thought that was extremely professional. After I got the MRI and the doc said a massage might be a good idea, I scheduled with John's wife Deb. She did a great job on me just a couple of days before I was going on a 2500 mile drive. I really believe her massage enabled me to make a trip in our RV that I was getting ready to cancel.

As I write this, I am getting ready to call for my next massage!

I've been looking for a local spa to try out since we're new to the area. I came across the Institute of Harmonic Massage and decided to take advantage of their first time client deal on a one hour introductory massage. The building is located in old town Wiley and is in a small cottage type home. It's super cute and offers relaxing vibes. I originally booked with Deborah but for reasons unknown to me, I was rescheduled with Monique. Although the lack of communication was a little concerning, I was very pleased with my experience. Monique was truly amazing and the massage was fantastic. She listened to all of my wants and needs and followed it to the tee. This establishment is definitely worth a five star review and the only reason I'm giving them a four star is I noticed that you don't get massaged for the full hour. They start the clock per your accountant time. For example. Say your appt is at 2pm, well it takes them a second to get you into a room and they give you time to undress and get settled onto the table. By the time they come back into the room, it's about 2:15 now and then the massage is over at 3pm. That's only a 40-45min massage. I thought it was just a first time thing but I booked a second time and noticed the same thing. I'm not sure if this is common practice or if I am just used to being spoiled back in my home state. That being said, the actual massage was amazing and I will go back. Maybe I'll work up the nerve to ask in the future.

Received the gift of a massage from hubby and daughter for my birthday. Went yesterday and had the best massage I've ever had. Deborah did an absolutely amazing job and paid attention to all the areas that we spoke about. Not only did I receive amazing service, from the snack tray to a Mimosa, but I feel like I could easily become friends with her. She is a wonderful person.

Treated my mother and myself to a 90 mins massage and loved the experience. My mother can't stop complimenting the massage she had by Trish.

Near the end of the massage, they included a mini facial which was very much appreciated.
Highly recommend you go here for professional massage to relax, ease tensions and loosen up those knots!

I purchased two 90-minute massages and added a facial to each one for their birthday. My first daughter went and said the massage and facial were good but the "older lady" talked the entire time and it was not relaxing. My daughter didn't want to be rude so she talked with the lady. Now my next daughter went today and said the massage was good but was confused why she did not get her facial. I asked her why she didn't ask and she said the lady left the room real quick and she is young so she just let it go. I called them after I find out and the woman who answered the phone didn't really listen well, talked over me so much that I just gave up. She did offer to refund me but at this point I was so annoyed that I just said - you keep it. We will not be returning.
One star will do because they did like the actual massage.

Deborah is a bad mama jama . Its like years of tension get dismantled in her hands. She's the best.

This is a nice place. Pretty busy this Saturday morning. I had called and got a last minute appointment. The rooms are separated by curtains, not walls even from the reception area. It can be noisy when next appointments are coming in before your appointment is over. Next time I will take my earplugs or wear my earbuds with white noise or my own music.
A couple of things that bothered me a bit. My therapist hands were cold. COLD! Just take a moment and use one of your heated towels to warm them. Rub them together. Something.
Second, the oil/lotion was cold. COLD! A baby bottle warmer from Walmart would work great.
My therapist was very good. Very thorough in working on my problem area.
I'll try again. Probably not on a Saturday morning to find a more quiet time. May try another therapist to find that perfect one.
Overall not perfect but not bad.

I am not normally a massage type person, I will go maybe once every couple years just to relax. I woke up with a right side neck pain, Chiro wasn't able to help. Deborah got me in the next day and was a miracle worker! She used vac cupping and also massaged all my pains away. I left able to turn my neck which I wasn't able to when I got there. She was a sweetheart, so friendly and generous. I felt totally comfortable with her. I made a second appointment and will be back. Highly recommend. The "rooms" are only separated with curtains which didn't bother me at all, but worth noting for someone to know what to expect.

Deborah was amazing! I have had lower back pain for the last couple of days. She did a great job of working that issue out. I highly recommend.
