I noticed this place while browsing for a place both I and my vegan wife could enjoy a lunch. It's convenient enough for us and the parking is excellent.
I was impressed immediately by the clean, level entrance. Service was immediate, with light traffic in mid-afternoon. The menu presented was the same as I had seen online so there were no surprises there. We sat at a table close to the entry. My partner enjoyed the falafel burger that she said was seasoned beautifully but it was a bit crumbly. That's fine, there's a washroom. I enjoyed the beef brisket Reuben. It had the ideal balance of enough kraut and a good sauce. It's size was manageable as was the price. I elected for the fruit with my sandwich and it was a generous serving that seemed fresh.
Service was very attentive without being intrusive. I'm delighted to find this place and will return.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 20, 2024
Made a same day reservation online on a whim. You definitely need one, but it's more of a spot in line than a reservation. Still a short wait on the weekend. We were seated right by the front door and host stand. There's not much of a waiting area, so if it's full, then everyone waiting to be seated is right next to you watching you eat. Service was fastttt, because once seated you are limited to about an hour. Other small, but popular restaurants in Minneapolis have similar policies.
We order a few mimosas, coffee, the breakfast burrito, and the eggs florentine. Not gonna lie, I mostly came because I wanted a spot with mimosas, but the food was well crafted and delicious! This has been a popular spot in Minnesota for quite some time so it shouldn't come as a surprise. With warm wood and a cozy inviting interior, we enjoyed our meal quickly then went about our day.
Street parking. You'll have to walk about a block.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 28, 20241 check-in
Great breakfast stop in the NE.
Stopped by here Sunday morning to catch up with a friend. She made reservations and I arrived early and checked in. The staff honored it to the minute, despite being busy and informed us of an hour limit.
Silverware and napkins are at the table, and our gal was Johnny on the spot with coffee refills and follow-ups. The place is super quaint with some fun artwork in the walls.
Food:
Beignets:
These were fried well having a beautifully crispy exterior. Inside was very light and fluffy. Unfortunately they were too eggy for my preference. An order comes with 6 and is perfect to share.
Chicken fried steak and eggs:
Steak was tender and had a perfectly fried exterior. The gravy had sausage and a good consistency. Eggs cooked well and hash browns crispy.
I was on the verge of rating a 4, but the entree and service won me over to round up to a 5. Would definitely come again. Make sure to set up a reservation!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - 70451153Apr 16, 2024
I went with some co-workers on a Thursday out to breakfast - this was a great location! Easy parking, everyone found something they enjoyed, and for those of us who are not really breakfast people they server lunch all day so I was able to get the chicken sandwich for breakfast!

Love this unpretentious slice of heaven in NE Mpls. You can enjoy the neighborhood & artistic vibe, as well as have some really decent food! Service is wonderful: our server, Brady, kept refilling our coffee & water glasses long after we finished eating & didn't push us out the door. Relaxing place to have a cuppa or a meal & just connect.

I tried the Mean Jean-and it think it rather mean to Jean. I liked her egg sandwich, especially the blue cheese!
The service was awesome-our server actually RAN down the street to return a pair of sunglasses that my friend had left. Thank you Priscilla! Keep Tahoe Blue! - 796415Jul 26, 2023Updated review
I came on a Saturday and it's a cute busy location spot. With a reservation I still waited about 5-10 minutes to be seated. I ordered the peach mimosa, veggie omelette, and a side of crispy bacon. The food arrived quick which was a plus. They have inside and outside seating areas available but the space is limited.
I parked in street parking but there is also a small parking lot nearby for businesses. Although the restaurant was busy the service was still attentive. I would recommend!Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0Jun 21, 2023Previous reviewCame here in a Saturday for brunch and it's a cute busy local spot. Wow what an amazing little spot. We had to wait about 30 minutes at about 11:30am on a Thursday but I cannot complain.
I'd never been here before so I didn't know what to expect but even though they have a lot of basic food options they also have a lot of really cool ones. I ordered the fried egg sandwich and it was so good!! I had blue cheese on it which I'm not the biggest fan of but it still tasted really good. The hash browns are AMAZING, an absolute must get.
Our server was relatively attentive, even though it took maybe 5-10 minutes to get our drinks ordered but it was busy so that was understandable. Will absolutely go back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 30, 2023
Positives: Reasonably priced, meets expectations service, reservations advised, kid friendly menu options, good portion size comparable to price.
Could use some minor improvement: make sure tables have enough silverware, food to table timing, omelettes are surprisingly dry, quiche was lackluster.
I do enjoy the charm of this NE spot so will come back and try dinner in the future. For reasonably priced and filling breakfast option, Hazel's checks enough boxes.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 1, 2023Updated review
Haven't been back to Hazel for a while and they still don't disappoint.
Ordered chop steak chicken fried, and biscuits and gravy. Both are pretty good.
You should really try their homemade hot sauce. That's the star of the show!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Nov 18, 2022Previous reviewOne of our favorite breakfast spot in the northeast area. Reservations is recommended. I think their breakfast selections are great and everything we ordered is always good. Don't forget to try their homemade hot sauce

I ordered the veggie omelette with Brussel sprouts and carmelized red onions and fig balsamic on top. Hello can you say delicious. My daughter ordered eggs bacon and toast. Their hash browns are like a potato pancake with cheese.
My daughter found a new place to eat with family and friends
