When I started training with Peter I had zero BJJ or grappling experience. I learned so much from him in a very short time, and I am now able to walk into other gyms and feel confident when rolling. Peter has an awesome attention to detail, and a great personality that makes training fun. He is such an expert in his field, and he does an amazing job of breaking things down, distilling concepts, and articulating them. I would definitely recommend gotham jiu jitsu!

I've been training w head instructor, Peter Tay, for many years. I've benefited greatly from his knowledge, insight, and guidance. His methodical approach will improve your skill set and lead to a greater appreciation for the art of BJJ.

Peter Tay is my personal brazilian jiu jitsu instructor. He's about as good as they get.
We train 1 on 1 and Peter takes the time to explain each technique and every move. He's very calm and always willing to repeat a move over and over until I have it down pat.
Class consists of takedown practice, submission practice, ground fighting and then rolling (sparring in jiu jitsu)
Peter explains how the move would be applied and used in both a competition and a "street" situation.
I leave every class physically exhausted and stronger.
Other people have come in the middle of class just to praise Peter and his training
I highly recommend him if you are serious about learning brazilian jiu jitsuHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - F Q.New York, NY03Jun 3, 2013
I have had the pleasure of training with Peter Tay over the past 4 months and cannot say enough good things about the quality of instruction. Peter possess an exceptionsal knowledge of jiu jitsu and has a unqiue ability to distill complex techniques in a readily accesible format. he takes the time and effort to explain both the" how "and "why" of every technique and is happy to repeat even the most basic moves until you are comfortable. What I find particulalry compelling, is the way he refines each technique as you progress to make it that much more effective. He is patient, thoughtful and an excellent technician. I have trained in martial arts (Judo and MT) for several years and he is by far one of the best instructors in my opinion.
you cannot go wrong with Peter!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Heather C.Manhattan, NY010Nov 15, 2014
Amazing session with Peter Tay at Exceed today! Peter totally rocks the instruction of Self Defense for Women and uses great techniques to embed the learning in an intellectual and phyiscal way! Love the metaphors! Love the logic! You've totally opened up the Jiu Jitsu world for me!!!
