Gibson Lock and Key

I lost the keys to my vehicle while moving. Gibson Lock and Key came promptly and made me a new set of keys. Excellent, prompt, professional, and courteous service.

Used them to install a keyless door lock. The person I dealt with was very knowledgeable, and also helpful to teach me how to use it.

Gibson Lock and Key came to my house the same day I called them !! Took care of my front door lock, I didn't have to buy another one. Bob the locksmith was great!Thanks Gibson!!

It was late on a Sunday and we were five guys from out to state on a motorcycle trip heading to Deal's Gap, NC. It had become an annual tradition. All of our bikes were loaded on a trailer, and all of us were looking forward to a weeklong trip through the beautiful, twisty mountain roads for which the NC/TN/GA area is known. Just prior to arriving at our destination, one of the guys in the group, who I won't name but whose name rhymes with "Charley", realized he lost his motorcycle key. It must have fallen out of his pocket during one of the gas station or meal stops along the way. We thought "Hey, no big deal. Just use your spare key and then make a copy of it when we arrive at our destination." That would be a good idea, unless one doesn't have a spare key to begin with. Now, one might reasonably ask "Why would this guy whose name rhymes with Charley own his motorcycle for almost a decade and only have one key?" That's a valid question, much like "If a cyclops were to close its eye, is it winking or blinking?" I don't think we'll ever know the answer to either.

We called locksmith after locksmith only to be informed that they either were closed or that they didn't work on motorcycles. By now, it was getting dark on a Sunday night. We figured we would have to waste the next day (Monday) looking for a locksmith rather than enjoying the twisty mountain roads.

Instead, we hit the jackpot when someone at Gibson Lock and Key answered the phone. Although it was past their normal business hours, they graciously met us at their shop in Franklin, NC and worked to make a new set of keys for "Charley's" (not his real name, it just rhymes with his real name) motorcycle. I was impressed as the good folks at Gibson Lock and Key worked in the dark parking lot, using only a small flashlight, going back and forth between the motorcycle on the trailer and the key cutting machine in their shop. After some fine tuning, they were able to create new keys for "Charley's" motorcycle without even taking out the ignition cylinder. After verifying that the keys worked, Gibson Lock and Key charged a very reasonable fee. Although they could have, they didn't charge an arm and a leg for what was an emergency service. It was a very fair price.

I can't recommend Gibson Lock and Key enough. They really went out of their way to help us keep our motorcycle trip on schedule. Even the adorable family dog showed up - probably to make fun of "Charley" just as we all did. For anyone on a trip to Deal's Gap/Tail of the Dragon, give Gibson Lock and Key a call if you find yourself stuck the way we were. They are among an increasingly rare group of people who legitimately go out of their way to help others. Five stars!

I don't know why there are NOT more reviews on Gibson. Long story short. If u ever loose your keys in the mountains HIGHLANDS OR CASHIERS NC. CALL HIM BEFORE ANYONE ELSE. This guy will get u back in your car before u have to deal with a tow company taking your car nearest dealership. Super friendly and gives u a price. Unfortunately my family and I were not able to use him because State Farm already made arrangements BUT IF U R STRANDED. CALL GIBSON in FRANKLIN.

We went to Gibson's to get a security door key for my Toyota Highlander that is keyless. The young man who assisted us was excellent. He worked very hard to make sure the specified key fit and worked. It was tight but he worked and lubed the lock until it was right. I cannot say enough good about this place and the young man who worked with us. I would definitely recommend this business to anyone.
