Awesome concept. Erin the owner is a visionary and is providing a valuable service to the 'community'. So, I found this place by searching Google as I looked for a workshop that could teach me about various tools to use in some basic DIY carpentry projects. I had never used a table saw or a chop saw before this class, nor had I understood the difference. I came away feeling a little more knowledgeable and a little more empowered to tackle some small 'to dos'.

Whether you have zero knowledge of how to cut and work with wood, or if you are an expert, this place has services and plans that can help you to accomplish a lot of your projects.

You can take a class, buy a 10-hour punch card, come for a day, or even get consultations on how to approach projects. Erin and her staff are expertly positioned to assist.

Oh my gosh if you have not visited one of the classes these folks offer you should. After getting our vaccinations we were anxious to have some fun and learn some things in the community (Not on zoom). We found their website and the ad for a class to make cutting boards so we signed up.

The class was small and we learned so much from both Erin and Alex. Their passion for wood and woodworking was so engaging. It inspired us to read more. While working in the workshop we were able to find out that many of the members of the community workshop offer different classes.

Erin took the time to introduce us to many members of the community. She also introduced us to the tools, even though some were not necessary for the project. When we asked she was only too happy to show us. Alex spent time in explaining with each step, not only what we were doing but why.

We have, in the past, taken trips to learn new skills and have adventures. How wonderful to find that we have new adventures in learning right here in Albuquerque. Thanks again for this experience. My wife and I will continue to watch for more classes. Hope to see you there!

This place fills a serious gap in the Albuquerque maker scene, a perfect venue for individual or group woodworking activities. Go to Dovetail for tools, instructions, projects, or parties.

This place is good for all ages and skill levels, and has studio space to rent if you have just outgrown your space. Drop in to the project library for ideas, or ask the regulars for troubleshooting or feedback on your work. Hobnob with other woodworkers.

Very friendly and welcoming environment for both beginner and old pro alike. I enjoyed having a great range of wood working tools and equipment at my disposal.

I've been wood working almost all my life so it felt great to roam and build. If I had a question about their setup of a particular tool/station, the staff was right there to help. Otherwise, unless there was a safety issue, the staff left me to my work.

For the beginners in the shop, I saw the staff being very attentive and super friendly, helpful, encouraging and always willing to share their knowledge. I never once saw them make anyone feel unwelcome.

      What a great place :)
