Mike is a rawboned 75 year old dude who is an absolute wizard with old skool carbuerators. My 307 was running lean and rough, adjusting the idle didn't help, so I took it up here.
Mike glanced at the Rochester Quadrajet for maybe ten seconds and rattled off four things he saw wrong with it... then told me it needed a complete rebuild.
The price he quoted me was insanely LOW... like less than half what that young fella with the "performance shop" in Englewood charges.
He kept it for over a week, then gave me a call that it was ready.
Price was $50 more than the original quote, but he needed to work on that carb three times, replaced the jets, then replaced them again with a slightly different size, then added an electric choke and threw in a new air filter at no extra charge.
That engine now runs better than it did when I bought it 15 years ago. Runs PERFECTLY.
Mike is a master of his craft... one of the top carb specialists in America. He could've easily charged several hundred more for the work he did, but gave me a great deal. Total bill was only $385... with a one year guarantee. Very happy with his work. Nobody else I know of could've made a 40 year old carb sing like that. Dude is literally magic.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Young C R.Thornton, CO1462Dec 24, 2021
DO NOT GO HERE !!! I needed a rebuild on my carburetor to pass emission's, after the job was done, my oil was drained and my radiator hoses were loosened! I still did not pass emission's! I took it back to mike to fix, and he was upset to see me again. as I confronted him about the oil and radiator hoses. He was extremely disrespectful to me in front of other customers and completely rude ! After a days work I picked up my vehicle again only to see all my hoses loosened again and oil was GONE. Also he unplugged my alternator . IT WAS A COMPLETE SABOTAGE! Luckily I at least passed emmissions ! This place is not a reputable mechanic. These guys just want to break more than they fix so you can go back to them. Luckily I had common knowledge and was able to catch the issues they caused before they could have DESTROYED MY VEHICLE . I must repeat. DO NOT GO HERE FIND A BETTER PLACE ! I never write reviews but these guys caused me to! Please save your money and vehicles

I could not be more satisfied with my experience here. I went in for a tune for a '67 Barracuda, and we found problem after problem from the previous installation of a Holley carb. Mike was persistent, honest, and very quick. I won't be going anywhere else for anything carb related in the future.

We hired and paid Mike at Don's Carburetor to rebuild a carburetor on a 1981 Subaru Brat. After receiving the carburetor back and installing it on the vehicle, the vehicle was still experiencing a lean condition. We were concerned about the quality of the rebuild service that we paid this shop for. We took the carburetor back to Mike and asked that he re-jet the carburetor with the correct jets for Denver's altitude. He said he did so and returned the carburetor back to us. We installed the carburetor back on the vehicle and still had an issue with the carburetors performance. Having already given Mike the opportunity to correct his rebuild twice with no success we hired another carburetor re builder to inspect the workman ship of Mikes rebuild. Upon inspection we found the idle fuel jets both were plugged, the primary jet was in the secondary spot and vice versa. The float was to wide causing it to rub on the side and stick.- We also replaced that with a factory float. When blowing out the venturis there was a lot of debris coming into the float bowl assembly showing us the carburetor was never even cleaned. The base plate of the carburetor was also warped. After having these issues corrected, the carburetor is performing as it should and the vehicle is running great. We called Mike to discuss our concerns with his work. He asked us to drive back to his location with the invoice, when we did he told us his warranty was void because someone other than him worked on the carburetor. He does not stand behind his work. Also does not do the work that you pay for. Save your time and money because his work is very sub-par. That is if he even gives you what you pay for.

8 months ago carborator done here should have been under warrenty. The paperwork was lost. Trying to pass emissions and had a problem with co2. Tried to call and let him know my situation he told he he would not honor the warrenty because he didn't want to search his computer.

Someday I hope to be in the position where I can pursue my passion, make enough money at it and say screw you if I don't like a customer. Mike is a carburetor genius and like all geniuses is somewhat left/right of center. He retooled my carb, replaced what needed to be replaced and charged me 50 bucks. Too good to be true? Not really as now I'm bringing in another carb of mine to be rebuilt, gladly parting with the 265 dollars.
