David is the one to go to for your DUI needs!
Last year I had my first DUI incident and I had no idea of what to do a moving forward but David helped me through the whole entire process and was very thorough and detailed. The magic he's done for me and how very quickly he got things done for me was mind blowing to me and I'll forever be grateful for the help he's given me.
I would 100% recommended David for DUI needs and I'm sure he's just as good with handing anything else as he is with DUI cases!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Randy P.Woodinville, WA52040287Oct 5, 2021
The best lawyer around hands down!
David helped me through one of the most difficult times in my life. He was very professional and caring and he felt more like a friend than a lawyer to me.
David has a great ability to describe legal situations in simplistic terms -- he not only ensures you understand all your options, but clearly explains his strategy for the case. He proactively reached out to me throughout the process to keep me in the loop and answer any questions I had. On top of this he was also extremely responsive if I called or emailed. He pushed for the best possible outcome for my case and executed flawlessly.
I would highly recommend David to family and friends.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Leo L.Federal Way, WA372716Aug 18, 2021
From the cuffs to the never-ending court proceedings, having a DUI charge may be a terrifying experience, and I am grateful I had David O by my side every step of the way! Attentive, personable, and knowledgeable, David ensured my every need was met. Prior to every court proceeding David always made sure I was prepared, and there were no surprises, he even answered questions I didn't know I had! Although having a strong lawyer in your corner is extremely important, David is much more. Going through the courts takes several months, many proceedings, and a considerable amount of paperwork, David always made sure I was at ease. Honestly, many times it felt like I had a friend, not just an attorney.
When you are dealing with DUI charges, it's not a cheap process, with or without a lawyer. If you are going to invest in someone, invest in David! Overall, I thought his prices were fair, and he turned the money into magic! I was facing a DUI, but through David's negotiation skills and knowledge of the law, he was able to get the charges significantly downgraded!
I've seen the outcomes of others who opted not to hire a lawyer or who hired a different attorney, and I have to say, David delivered the best results.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Andrew D.Seattle, WA01May 17, 2019
David is an outstanding lawyer, and more importantly an outstanding human being.
In June 2018, my life more or less fell to pieces, and among the unfortunate events surrounding my life at the time, I was also arrested for driving under the influence. I still can't find the right words for the despair I was experiencing, but it was actually David who reached out and called me and asked me how I was doing. From that first phone call, I could tell he was more personally invested in my well-being as a human being than the other lawyer firms I had been in contact with.
He made the whole 10-month ordeal very simple and clear for me, and I had his assurance and confidence at every step of the way. Even when there was a minor step-back in the proceedings, I had no doubt in his ability to handle this case. Also, he was never too busy and would always find time for me to address whatever concerns I had, and never dismissed them even if they may have been trivial in retrospect.
When it came down to the moment of truth, his game-plan was easy to follow and execute, and I actually received a better outcome than I imagined was possible.
David is an all-around wholesome man, and was genuinely concerned about my mental state from beginning to end, and one of the most proactive people in my life about it, and still is, even after the case is closed. I owe a portion of my growth as a human being to his presence in my life during this time. I don't have many strong adult male figures in my life (in ways beyond the superficial), and he is a model of the kind of man I want to become, not just for myself, but for the loved ones in my life. I know this last paragraph is going off on a bit a tangent, but this just how I honestly feel, and its necessary for me express these words in my review of 'David O Defense'.
Thank you for everything David.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Ami M.Seattle, WA463964Jul 28, 2020Updated review
I left him a great review on other sites. But much time has past and I have to say, as a lawyer, and thinking back on my case, even I, a civilian I feel would have done a better job. He does understand law but back in 2010 he didn't seem to fully know DUI. Told me he normally takes cases about workplaces. But we felt confident going forward with him. We went through the ENTIRE case, took multiple days and it was very exhausting like all of this normally is. The judge threw things out from the police as they didn't their due diligence with my arrest and something were sketch. So I was relieved to find that out. However, the county clerk in the office there turned over documents to the jury they were not suppose to (inner working of the cops, as when that cop took that stand it was 2 years after the fact and he said he didn't know to most questions asked)... they threw out my case because of that turning over of documents that shouldn't have been. Right then, David should have stepped up and told them no, we will proceed with this and we want to explain to the jury why these documents were thrown out. However, he decided to go with what the court suggested. Another year or so goes by and we have to redo this all over again (and again, as a lawyer I would have expected him to understand the outcome of the upcoming trial).
We redo this trial and LOW and BEHOLD the cop remembers EVERYTHING! A year plus ago he couldn't remember jack. So he straight up lied to court under oath. David did nothing to correct or point this out, and we proceeded with a cop who sat there and seemed to remember all the details when a year plus ago he didn't. I was found guilty, because well this is me against a cop.
Crushed by this, tears couldn't stop rolling down my face and David promised he would visit me in jail, which he did.
However, this all could have easily been avoided had he done his due diligence and we proceeded with that first trial. He also asked if I would like to work for him, but literally the crush of defeat. The playing of BOTH trials running through your head daily, wondering how a cop could sit on stand saying idk to all questions, but years later remembers? And on top of that remembers something much further on down the line.
I should have paid top dollar for someone, but seeing as how we felt we could really trust him to do his job, and try his hardest to protect me and the money put forward. It was a waste and I should have just stood trial myself. I felt I would have had a better chance esp with all the pluses I got from the first trial that everyone just let go by the way side.
Good person in general, but not a good lawyer for DUI cases I feel. Go with someone that will likely help you get out of a situation that I feel I could have easily avoided doing time for. Esp when the arresting officer does so much wrong, cannot remember, but miraculously remembers more of years later.
I have to force myself to stop remembering this because I am just killing myself over this. And the constant thought on how this all could have gone and the things I saw up front and in my face was just unbelievable. But what cop doesn't want his arrest to go thru? Clearly it's worth it to lie under oat

No one is tarnishing your reputation here.
I'm sure that after my trial and my conviction your still doing DUI cases and you have likely learned from my trial as I would hope. Learning and growing into something better is not terrible. This is not an attack, just that as I already knew the outcome of that second trial, so should have you. However, live and learn. Which I hope you as well as I have been able to do. Like I said thinking over and over on this is only killing me. So learn, and move on. I am sure my experience has only made you a better lawyer, and if you have to go thru a trial like I did again, you should outright know the outcome and how the cop will be trained to answers questions when asked. So I hope you learned too. It's called truth, I'm sorry you feel this is tarnishing, but I did meet with many other lawyers and you were not the only one I interviewed, if you think none of them wanted to go to trial then you also have much to learn about your competition. But going thru it and seeing first hand how backward this system is, is truly disheartening. Feels it's funny you think of this as an attack and not a lesson to learn, because I learned a LOT. Shouldn't have been in that predicament to begin with so all in all it is all my own fault and doing. But as I have stated already over and over. Live and learn!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Ami,
I find it very frustrating that you are writing a review about a case that happened 10 YEARS ago and you apparently think its ok to try tarnish my good reputation that I have worked extremely hard to earn. I have owned and operated my DUI and criminal defense law firm for 17 years and I have remained in business due to the exceptional work I do for my clients.
I want to clear up several things in your message.
1. I have worked as a DUI attorney for 17 years, 95% of my cases are DUI charges.
2. Your case was extremely challenging. One major factor was your case involved an allegation of you causing a multiple car accident to the extent all traffic was ceased, no cars were able to pass by, and your car was inoperable.
3. I took your case to trial when many attorneys would not have due to all the damaging evidence against you but I wanted to fight for you and that is what I did. The court clerk made a huge error in the first trial causing a mistrial. Unfortunately, we had to go to trial again and I did not charge any additional money. Many attorneys would have charged an additional trial fee.
I worked very hard for you and presented the best possible defense during your trials. You state in your very first sentence, "I left him a great review on other sites." which tells me you knew I worked hard. I think you are upset that the case didn't resolve how you wanted but your case had too many damaging factors that the jury members just couldn't overlook.
I take good care of each and every client and I will continue to do so, this is very important to me! I'm sorry Ami is angry but she is upset at the wrong person, I did my job well.
Thank you for reading my reply,

During our first meeting, he impressed me with his ability to listen to my story and respond with a strategy right away. Thereafter, he provided prompt responses to my questions and kept me well informed.
I'm very happy with the outcome of my case, which was driven by David's extensive knowledge of the local laws and courts.
In addition to his skills, I recommend him for being a caring and diligent person.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Fayzaan S.Seattle, WA54Jun 27, 2017
I was charged with a DUI and traffic citation. Seeing that this was such a serious offense especially in Seattle Wa and my arraignment was scheduled so abruptly; I felt confused and under a lot of stress. Being forced to research as much as I could in a short period of time, after many online referrals; reviews; american bar association; linkedin; nolo and avvo searches. I came across David O Defense, I needed an attorney but someone knowledgeable and with years of experience; more importantly I wanted someone that would be understanding, exhibit great character and a true passion for what they do. David was everything and more. He agreed to see me on short notice, at the appointment we discussed my arraignment; Washington law and every facet of my testimony.
The meeting affirmed the fact that I needed David to defend me, his fees were more than adequate and his efforts astounding. I am happy to say that all charges against me were dismissed thanks to David's driven yet humbling attributes. I would recommend anyone to appoint him. He is a WINNER
Thank you David for all your help, words cannot describe how happy I am. All the best with all future endeavors.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Betty W.Seattle, WA01Mar 2, 2020
David helped me through one of the lowest points of my life and got my case completely dismissed! From the moment I met David, he made me feel at ease with his humor, confidence, and professionalism. If you find yourself in a situation you can't believe you're in, David will help you through it. Thank you!

I was referred to David by a mutual friend when I got my DUI. I found him to be very professional. He had a very clear plan for fighting my offense and gave me an outline of things I needed to do to make it happen. At the end he was able to reduce my DUI to a reckless driving and all I had to do was pay a small fine.
I would highly recommend using David for any of your attorney needs and have referred several of my close friends to use him.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tom Y.Seattle, WA045Sep 14, 2016
David is a phenomenal human being and lawyer. Being charged with a DUI is already a stressful situation, but David calmed me immediately with his easy going nature and his strong desire to listen and understand the pertinent facts of my case. He is well known and respected at the King County Court, with all sides, the prosecution, defense, and judge. I have no doubt that having his cache and experience in my corner helped my case get dismissed. While I can not guarantee the same result, I know David will fight hard for you. He is willing to make payment arrangements and meet on a very short notice. I will recommend all of my family and friends to him. Thank you David!
