This is the second time this company helped us. We had a major leak from a sewage pipe behind the wall. Ken showed up and stopped the leak on the first visit to estimate. He and his crew then worked around our schedule and minimize the business shutdown time to open the wall, repair the pipe, replaced big chunk of wall and refinished the wall in TWO DAYS!!! They also put everything back neat and clean.
We are very grateful for such an efficient and awesome job. All his crew are very nice. Definitely recommend!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Gary I.San Mateo, CA08Mar 25, 2024
I had bullseye plumbing clean out a sewer drain from my house to the main sewer pipe. Well, he cleaned it out from the cleanout in the backyard to the main. but neglected to start further back in the pipe at the cleanout outside the kitchen. He also did not use a metal snake with teeth on it to completely clean out the pipe. He used a hose with a robber end piece that shot out pressured water.
So, guess what happened. I had a blockage a short time later further back in the pipe and had to call out someone else. Paid double on this one.
Ken, the owner, takes short cuts and took the easiest method abd shortest route to paritally clean out the sewer pipe. Buyer beware.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Elena B.San Jose, CA39103Dec 22, 2021
Unfortunately i had experience with sewer lateral replacement with this company and the owner Ken in October 2021. The crew was polite and everything seem good, they were onsite for 3 days. The day before the city inspection schedule date i asked the owner Ken, who was on site that day if everything was good and the answer was - Yes. In fact Ken asked me if i wanted to have my driveway redone using bricks. I asked how much would it be - he gave me number. I said, no thank you, just close with concrete as per contract.
The next day the city inspectors came. Since i was under the impression that everything was good, i didn't communicate with them directly and only asked the crew after - if the inspection passed and they said - NO. Later that day Ken showed up and when i asked him what was wrong, he told me there is no grade and my pipe is full of water. It was the first time i heard about the problem. Which was very strange since the day before he told me everything was good. In fact, without my knowledge/not per contract the crew installed some back pressure device that water was not running back to the house, the owner Ken was aware of that and didn't even notify me of that until after the inspection failed. After inspection failed, Ken told me i can accept as is or i have to pay alot to do open trench repair. That day he and his crew were telling me i would have to pay around ~30-40k for open trench, later when i requested the estimate from Ken for that - it was ~25k.
I really didn't know how to proceed and even was considering to accept as is. However, the city inspectors of San Mateo were extremely helpful and explained to me that the condition was extremely poor and my pipe was full of water - "sag / belly in the lateral approximately 10 - 15 feet sag starting from the two way clean out towards the main. This failed area of your lateral is filled more than half way with stagnant waste water."
I asked Ken to fix, he gave me the new quote for building a new sewer line (which was around 25k) and told me he can only fix with building a new line. I told him i don't want to build a new sewer line and existing line had to be fixed. He didn't do any single attempt to fix the condition and he was kept saying "he was not making any profit on my project and any fixes are very expensive". There were a few more communications with him where i was asking him to fix my pipe after which he sent me "5k estimate for attempt to fix with no guarantee".
Ken/Bullseye Plumbing didn't take any responsibility for breaking my pipe. The pipe was in normal condition before the replacement - it was original 50years old pipe which only had to be replaced because it was point of sale in San Mateo. Last time i had a phone call with him - he told me "he was loosing his patience". I was confused how the licensed contractor/professional/business owner could allow this tone in talking to the customer. Anyways, i gave Bullseye Plumbing the opportunity to fix their mistake and they refused. The huge hole on my driveway was open for more than a month.
I started looking for a company which would fix it and close the hole, and i was lucky i found very experienced company which helped me to fix the issues and passed the inspection/completed the project. They also pointed to me that Bullseye Plumbing broke my existing drainage pipe(pic attached) and new contractor had to fix it as well. Also they mentioned that Bullseye Plumbing didn't grind/polish the place where the pipe connect to the main which was most likely the reason of the sag / belly - they had to do it per codes.
It was extremely horrible and stressful experience for me and my family and i just wish i had never hired Bullseye Plumbing at the first place to do sewer lateral replacement. I was going through their yelp reviews before and didn't see any red flags. Since i am using yelp alot and rely on customers reviews, i hope my experience will help to other people in San Mateo area as well.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - David B.Redwood City, CA858Nov 1, 2021
Hardly a glamorous review. :). We has a broken pipe buried 10-12 feet below garden. We had 3 estimates based upon 3 possible solutions (all involving a lot of digging). Bullseye was least expensive and most durable solution, specifically trenchless. Workers were friendly; the owner, Ken, was easy to work with. In short, no one wants to spend money on lateral sewer line, but if you need to Bullseye does a good job at a reasonable cost.

Just completed a project at my property in San Mateo. 50 ft. of new sewer lateral line from 2 ft. in front of foundation to middle of street.
Work was done on a timely basis, and the crew was very professional and did a GREAT job!
Communication was good during the four (4) days of work.
Cleaned up well after job was complete.
I highly recommend this company for your sewer lateral work.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Allison M.San Mateo, CA0134Aug 2, 2022
We needed to have a lateral sewer job done at our home in San Mateo. This seemed like a daunting and expensive job filled with lots of unknowns. We had several companies come out to give us quotes/estimates. Some of the other companies never followed up with us and never provided any additional information or communication. It was very easy for us to hire Bullseye Plumbing to do this work for us. Ken and his crew at Bullseye Plumbing made this big job easy, efficient, and much more manageable than we first envisioned. Bullseye Plumbing came out to give us an estimate and were extremely responsive and communicative throughout the entire job and after as well. The crew was respectful of my neighbors, my property, and my time. They showed up on time, completed the work in the estimated time they predicted it would take. They left my property very clean each day and picked up as much as possible. If you are needing a lateral sewer job completed, Ken at Bullseye Plumbing should be your go-to choice.

Ken ( the owner ) was forthright, and honest in his communication with me. He kept me abreast of the status of my job. Our situation was unique indeed. Covid 19 really threw a Monkey Wrench into his ability to get started on my Sewer Line replacement, as Permits from the County, and City became harder to obtain. Once those hurdles were overcome, his crew expertly, and professionally accomplished the task at hand. I couldn't be happier, and will always think of Bullseye Plumbing first to service my Plumbing needs.

Ken and his team have been helping me clear sewer line clogs since 2015. Many San Mateo old homes also have really old sewer line. Met and showed him the issue back in 2015. He did a camera inspection for reasonable price and made a CD. Then afterwards, whenever the problem occurs, I would just call him. He/one of his team will be there if possible the same day or next day. Clear the clog, cleaned up the mess form the clog and very professional. I don't need to be home. The only caveat is Ken doesn't do weekends. So if the clog occurs on the weekend, I need to find a backup. Luckily the clog doesn't occur anymore after neighbor removed their big tree. Knock on wood.

Follow Water Heater installed by Luis. Excellent job.
Note re did old pvc pipings with new cooper pipings. l would use Bullseye Plumping again in the future.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Feb 1, 2017Previous reviewKen just finished installing my faucet in the garage.
Wow, I would give him 6 stars.
Ken, owner is true professional, honest with excellent integrity.
1) He did not freak out when I inform him that I had purchased the faucet at Home Depot.
2) I sent him images of the old faucet and the workspace in the garage.
3) He responded with an estimated quote for $ 150 for the Labor.
4) Arrive on time, did an through excellent job in workmanship and charged me $ 15 below
the estimated quote. How often does that occur?
5) I have a 28 year old home on it's 3rd Water Heater. I asked should I go tankless?
He responded that tankless would cost approx $ 4,500 for the unit and with repiping plumbing
also would need a recirculating pump unit. He said it would be great for a new home. Also,
would waste a lot of water before we get hot water for the 2nd level needs.
6) My current GE water purchased and installed by Home Depot was install in 2008. Ken
commented that I got my useful life beyond the warranty period. Home Depot does not even
carry this model any more. He gave me a quote for a new high end water heater. I am
booking an appointment next week to have the job done with Ken.
Definitely will use him again in the future. - David G.San Mateo, CA799Dec 18, 2019
I was referred to Ken from a friend. My toilet was backing up on a Saturday, and unfortunately Bullseye was closed. I called another company who cleared my sewer line, but also found with a camera that the line was broken. The estimate was quite high so I waited until Monday to contact Ken. He came out the same day and gave me a very reasonable estimate. He was able to start my project on Thursday the same week and finished my sewer line replacement the same day! He had originally thought they could do trench less, but once his employees started they determined it was going to be better to dig. They were all great! They came back a few days later to back fill, pressure wash my concrete and re-planted bushes they needed to move for the line replacement. His employees take pride in what they do, and they truly do care! Many Thanks to all!
