I reached out to Block after seeing all the good reviews on Yelp/Google about working with Sean and Ava. This review is not about them. Instead of Sean or Ava, I was assigned to work with Jeff Nunez. After our initial call, Jeff did not respond to emails in a timely manner. I submitted an application and requested documents from the checklist and never heard back. I asked for loan quotes and didn't hear back about that either. Other lenders I spoke to always replied within one business day without the need for an email followup. Jeff did not respond to my email or the followups, which was an instant elimination in my book. Block Financial may have been able to offer better rates (who knows, Jeff never got back to me!) but the customer service was simply subpar. I needed a loan officer who was responsive and could overcome any potentially urgent issues that may arise with closing. Jeff didn't demonstrate that he could be that loan officer for me. My recommendation if you must work with this broker: avoid Sean and request Sean or Ava instead.

The best, most professional and responsive broker company I've ever worked with. I've worked with Block over the years, on 2 mortgages and 1 refi now! And have referred them to multiple people. Each time, they listened to what I was looking for and got me exactly what I wanted. They go out of their way to find and dig up the best rates compared to all the other banks I got comparison quotes from. The amount of leg work they save you, and the ease that using Block adds to an otherwise stressful and overwhelming experience is unparalleled. Sean is patience and answers every dumb question I ask and will take time to explain anything that is unclear along the way. Block Financial's response time is the most impressive i've seen in the sector. Highly recommend them with 100% faith every time.

Sean and Nicole are so kind, professional, and knowledgeable; they had our best interests in mind and we felt trust in them throughout the entire process. Despite the uncertainty of the current landscape, we were provided with frequent check-ins and guidance. We were first time home buyers working with Sean and Nicole to secure a mortgage for a co-op, and they made the entire process a snap. They were incredibly thorough in making sure we understood everything that was going on. I was especially impressed at how consistently they followed up with us to make sure that every aspect of the transaction was proceeding apace. They found us fantastic rates that I do not think we would have been able to find without them, and the entire process would have taken a lot longer (and been a lot more anxiety inducing) without them.

I recently closed on my apartment and I have to say Sean and Nicole were the main reason I got thru this whole home buying process as a first timer. I was buying at a rough time (interest rates were going up, it was really stressful) and the rates given to me by several of the major banks (including one I'm employed at) were higher than I was hoping for. Sean was able to get me an incredible rate, and when closing took a little longer than expected, he was then able to extend the rate to help me close. Nicole was so efficient and made all the document submissions so easy. And they're so responsive!! I had to call Sean during closing with a question and he was immediately available and such an amazing resource. I cannot recommend them enough. Will definitely be using them again in the future if I end up refinancing or buying another place. Cannot recommend highly enough! The absolute best.

I first worked with Sean on a loan 5 years ago. I had spoken with a few bank mortgage loan officers and a few brokers and decided to go with Sean because he took a lot of time to clearly and patiently explain the details and process to this first-time home buyer and his rates seemed to be the lowest.
