Belchertown Eye Care & Sunglass Shop

Let me start off by saying that this was one of the best experiences with an eye care place I've ever had. I have anxiety with health professionals since it's always about money or they just tend to not listen. I went to another place about two years ago and they blamed the medication I was on for my bad eye sight and belchertown eye care immediately went through every OTHER reason why I could be lacking.

They called me the day before reminding me of my appointment. I got in almost a week 1/2 out which Is amazing considering it takes months at other places. The lady at the front desk was very attentive, told me that it would be $110 for the exam BUT insurance will cover an amount of it I would just have it sent out. (she gave me a letter and all to send it out) As well as she measured where my eyes and ears sit so its comfortable. When I paid I left a deposit for my glasses (I was given option) and she showed the price break down.

Sadly, I do not remember her name but the lady who did my eye exam was TOP tier, she worked for surgeons before and was checking for EVERYTHING when I say everything I mean everything. She was very educated and would ask if I wanted to see what the pictures and devices were doing. They have brand new technology so she explained what each one does now and any questions were answered immediately.

I am so glad I tried Belchertown Eye Care - I purchased contacts and progressive lenses there, my new glasses are amazing!
I recently got a pair of sunglasses to use with my contacts, these glasses have removable wind protection in them, I used the wind protection for the first time this past weekend skiing, they work incredibly, I was able to ski all day without having my eyes water! All while wearing a normal pair of sunglasses.

The optician Charissa Brown works wonders. I wanted progressive lenses but could not use them because of the way they blurred my vision when going down stairs. Somehow she made me a pair that did everything you want progressives for, but I could still see where I was going when I looked down. The next time, I tried Amherst Optical, and was very disappointed. It was back to not being able to see when going down stairs. Charissa also made me computer glasses so good, I could go out into the world with them on. Recently I needed to see an optometrist. I was alarmed at the arrogance revealed in the reviews of the male optometrists, and decided I wanted to support a female. I ended up at Belchertown Eye Care with Dr. Kelly Bado. Not a scintillating personality, but she is nice, and easy to work with. I went to be seen about a large floater. She located it and said it did not look like something to be worried about, but had me come back in two weeks just to make sure it wasn't getting worse. She seems competent. Belchertown Eye Care itself was easy to work with as well. They are not a chain. They are more like a family, and remember you when you come in.
