Ashley Inn is gorgeous! The rooms are beautiful and VERY girly. But there are 2 points that spoil it for me....

The first is the beds. Hands down they are the most UNcomfortable bed I'd ever slept in (or rather tried to sleep anyway). The room I was in #314, the bed is hard as a rock and squeaked very loudly. So as I tossed and turned all night, I was also very noisy, which was embarrassing.

The second is the coffee was terrible. No amount of cream and sugar could save it. Since I get a pretty bad headache unless I have my one cuppa per day, I had to choke it down. Luckily I found a place in town that had pretty decent coffee.

I wouldn't stay here again even though it's super cute. I've stayed at far less cute hotels with wonderfully comfortable beds and I'd choose a good nights sleep over cuteness any day. After all isn't a hotel only for sleeping? Otherwise your out and about, yes?

I was very disappointed! The poor staff! I worked in the hotel industry years ago. We had a new owner very six months. In with the new carpet and out with the six month old. Rearranging the furniture on the Titanic is the way I would describe it. It was never the people who bought the property that didn't have a clue! It was always the poor staff.

First just let me say that the reason we wanted to stay here was because of the rooms. Imagine my surprise when I found out renovations meant they where gutting the whole hotel. No more Governors room, no Rose room! We asked for a room with a hot tub! I have a walk in shower at home. Yet, there was a walk in shower to greet me once again! The rooms are your basic grey and beige. It is like any other hotel room.

Management needs to update all web sites that the name has changed. They need to take down all pictures of what made this place great.

This place is your great aunt from the 90's who loved doilies, wall paper and hordes of antiques. She covered the house in wall to wall floral carpet and used fake plants with a vengeance. But she also cleaned like a hobby, served homemade breakfast and cookies and asked you 5 times in one hour if you wanted a glass of lemonade.

I loved this place. It felt like a themed hotel and I love a good theme. The staff was so courteous and helpful. They made us delicious breakfast (the usual suspects such as cereal, yogurt, and waffles plus rotating specialties like eggs Benedict, hash browns, & french toast sticks). The eggs Benedict was the only thing that wasn't great...got a bit congealed.

They have a nice pool and hot tub, both open 24/7. They include two plush bathrobes in your room. You can borrow movies too...lots of choices. Maybe 200? And at 8:00 they serve cookies and milk!

It was all so charming. Look past the outdated decor and see this place for the sweet old lady she is.

I wanted to be super excited for this stay. I upgraded my room to a mid tier price...thinking more is better....In this case, not so much; while the room has an initial wow factor (the room is huge and the decor is entrancing,) once that wears off and the decor has settled your eyeballs, the old and gross become apparent.

Sure, the lobby is impressive and yes they serve cookies, the rooms, especially for the price should be better. (See photos)

My suggestion, buy furniture slip covers which can be removed and properly cleaned. Also, consider removing the carpet (no one wants carpeting in a hotel or resort anymore, we all know how filthy carpet can be).

In essence, my personal experience could have been 5 stars but you gotta step it up. For the price I paid, this was not worth the stay. I considered another place which would have allowed my dog and next time I will try that. If I had known this room would be old and dirty, I could have stayed elsewhere for less than half the price and brought my dog. (Honestly, this room feels like dirty children stayed here and I guarantee my dog is better behaved.)

But this place has charm and the staff is amazing....but don't expect much more than a 2 star experience. Maybe the most expensive rooms are better, but I won't try them for the price.

FYI.... breakfast comes with your stay. This is a buffet breakfast, which in covid times not the wisest decision. I almost had breakfast until an unmasked kid sneezed all over everything. This stay overall was disappointing on many levels. Unfortunately, the bathroom and breakfast situation just completely grossed me out.

This place could be cute with a lot of help and updating. It's a boutique hotel for anyone born before 1980. The rooms are clean enough for what the rooms cost. The beds are terrible, the food is even worse. It's probably the best you can do here in Cascade, given that there are such few options. If you're from an area that has higher end food, farm to table food or have any food sensitivities or allergies this may not be the place for you.

I'm going to separate my review into two parts first part I'm discussing the covid precautions, second part is about the inn.

Covid precautions here are an absolute joke, a plastic screen at the front desk (employee not wearing a mask). Which actually has me frustrated. When my girlfriend was looking online doing her research for the most covid safe place to stay for my birthday, she stumbled upon this place. The Ashley Inn stated to her that the employees are wearing masks at all times and that the guests are to wear their masks at all times unless in their rooms. Stayed here for one night and one morning, with a report of this not to be true. Not a single employee was wearing a mask and not a single guest wore a mask, other than myself and my girlfriend. Since this is a business that thrives on travel, potential exposure of covid is extremely high, since the current identification of spreading covid is from person to person via droplet/airborne if utilizing high flow oxygen.

Now to talk about the inn.

This place is absolutely beautiful! The staff is friendly, courteous, generous, and overall inviting. Decorations during this season are breath taking, like walking into a winter wonderland. The breakfast they set up was impressive, better than most breakfast diners you could go to. The room that my girlfriend reserved had a bottle of chilled apple cider waiting for us, in celebration of my birthday. The room was equipped with a king size bed (very comfy), electric fireplace, mini fridge, coffee pot, couch, desk and a bathroom with a shower and spa tub that had lighting and jets (which felt wonderful). Didn't explore their TV or channel surfing options, I had no desire to. Would definitely visit again post covid.

If covid wasn't around, this place would have received a flawless review, but covid is real and it is unavoidable unless precautions are taken seriously.

I loved my stay at this cozy hotel. It's the type of hotel where you know each room looks different from the other with its older, yet classy, furniture. The whole hotel is decorated with such a warm and welcoming feeling.

The front desk employees were so friendly to me even when I arrived at 2AM. The rooms are very big! Mine had a fireplace that actually works and is not just for show. I got a great nights rest in the comfy bed at this hotel.

They also have free canoeing in the lake right outside. Would definitely recommend this hotel for romantic getaways! :)

Love the style of this Inn. The fireplace actually works too!

This place has a bed and breakfast feel in a hotel setting. Hallways are nicely decorated being lined with art, hutches, and tables. As a business traveler I like a bit more desk space. If you're like my wife and into decor, a definite 5 stars. It's like staying at a friends house. I'd stay here over any hotel chain, any day.

Such a good place! Rooms are huge and the cookies at 8 is the best. They even made us gluten free cookies upon request.
