Famous Dave's Bar-B-Que

This was my first visit to any Famous Dave's. I walked in on a Tuesday evening through the "To Go" door- which I might add is a genius idea! You can order at a counter and wait for your food, order online or over the phone and pick it up through this entrance. To the right is the hostess stand for those patrons that will be dining in.
Everyone was very pleasant when I walked in. I was greeted by a young man (maybe HS/early college age). He greeted me and asked if he could take my order- when I told him I've never been here before and was looking for recommendations- he appeared to be excited to share the menu and walk me through the most popular items.
I eventually decided on the 2- meat combo (pictured) choosing the Famous Ribs & Pulled Pork accompanied by 2 sides (coleslaw & mashed potatoes), and all meals finish with a Corned Bread muffin. If you look at the picture you can tell I was eager to jump in prior to taking a picture. The Ribs- the best I've had in a LONG time- they fell off the bone, were perfectly smoked and could taste in each bite. The pulled pork was cooked very well- with just enough juice, spices, and BBQ sauce. The often forgotten- sides...The coleslaw was a creamy coleslaw- which is my preference and was very good. I'm not a huge mashed potato fan, but thought I would give them a shot- I was not let down- they were really tasty. Rounding out this incredible meal was one of the better cornbread muffins I've had. It wasn't dry at all- very tasty.
Overall, if you are in the Waldorf area and are a fan of BBQ I would highly recommend Dave's Bar-B-Que. I only got a glimpse of the dine-in restaurant, but from what I saw, it looked very clean, well put together, well decorated, and an overall great ambiance for any group of people.

As BBQ goes, this isn't my favorite. I think for the novice this might be a great value to get some BBQ at a value that tastes like BBQ but is not made with the highest quality of meats. The restaurant does their best with the poor quality of meat they are given to work with. The spices are fair and the BBQ sauce are delightful. Overall I think Famous Dave's was a legit BBQ joint back in the day when Dave used the highest quality of meats and spices. Fast forward 10+ years and now that it is a corporation, they are cutting corners to make more money by using lesser quality ingredients. I love the look of the place and hope that some day they upgrade their products.

I honestly wish I could give an excellent review but I can't. I went in there to pick up my order today and Dominique A customer service employee I think was very dismissive abrasive and trans. Phobic she intentionally was rude to me while I was just only trying to pick up my food and I just felt uncomfortable, it is crazy. How an establishment don't treat their customers that pay There hard earned money to be disrespectful. Not to add when she called me to get my order she intentionally miss gender me. I spoke to the manager or at least I hope it was the manager. You never know these days. I hope something is done about. It definitely won't be eating there no more.

Great family location. Always a go to for BBQ in the area. Not exactly like how in NC but good enough for the fix for my family.

I haven't been to Famous Dave's since the location in Largo closed many years ago but I do remember that I always liked the restaurant. I visited this location for my grandfather's birthday dinner. We had our own private set up, which was nice. There was plenty of room for us to sit and roam around.

I ordered the feast for two with the brisket and fried chicken. It also came with ribs, fried, Wilbur beans, coleslaw, and cornbread muffins. There was so much food. Enough food for two adults and we still had enough food left for a full dinner the following night. Everything tasted great and was seasoned perfectly. My daughter ordered the cheeseburger which also tasted really good.

The service was good too. At first, there was only one waitress serving the area so service was a tad slow sometimes. I was happy when another waiter came to help out. They were both really friendly and helped make the experience even better.

There's plenty of parking and it was easy to find. I'm not sure if this is the closest location to me now but I would go again.

I visited this location with my family today and we really enjoyed our lunch! Although the lunch special pricing is not in effect on the weekends, the pricing was fair and the BBQ was very decent! We have 4Rivers back home so I can't say that the Brisket at Famous Dave's competes with the brisket I'm used to, but the BBQ chicken was perfect and the Mac and cheese was delicious! I did not enjoy the Wilbur's beans as much as I liked the corn bread muffin. I DID like that the server asked me if I wanted white or dark meat when ordering the chicken! I'm def a dark meat kind of woman!

I'd be back to a Famous Dave's if we lived in the area.

Famous Dave's is one of my favorite places to dine and the Burnt Ends are the best. Unfortunately today my ends were all little pieces of fat and even though I checked to make sure my order was right I didn't check for cubes of fat. I would have thought that the restaurant would have done that.
Disappointed!!!

We split the famous Dave's sassy salad-delish with brisket. Also can have chicken, pulled pork. Full with avocado, bacon, egg. Side of cornbread muffin. Muffin is really good-light but good size.
Menu offers a wide variety of appetizers, sides, meals, and catering dinners. House margarita with brandy topper. Variety of house bbq sauces-satan's breath.
Summary
Local bar b que and MORE-fantastic service-clean-great food. Can't wait to return!

Unfortunately, I didn't take any pictures. That's how much of a good time I was having. My friend and I decided to sit in the bar area. At first the service seemed slow, but that is because they only had on guy doing the drinks for the entire restaurant as well as waiting on the bar area including booth seating. Anyway, after we put our order in, the food and drinks came very quickly.

I ordered the spiked lemonade ($6 on Friday). Apparently, they have a different discounted drink each day. I also ordered the pulled chicken sandwich with baked beans and french fries. My friend ordered the baby back ribs. Our food was delicious. They have all the condiments you need to put your finishing touches on it.

We topped it off with some dessert - banana pudding and bread pudding. Yummy! Next time you stop by ask for Zach! He was a great bartender and mixed some great drinks and was very tentative!

I take my wife to eat here every couple of weeks, in Waldorf, MD, especially on Tuesday. We like to order the Feast for 2 as it is the special on Tuesdays. We like to get the chopped pork to go with the ribs and usually get the roasted chicken and sometimes the fried (both are tasty). We also come on that day because our favorite server (Trey) is there. It is always a pleasure to see him. He is always very courteous and be listens to his customers and any special requirements we may ask for. He is always on top of it. The atmosphere is always enjoyable. Good music in the background. Sports on the television, news or even cooking shows. And of course there is always something good to drink.
