I saw people fishing. Some parking but lots do get filled up. The play area is a bit dated.

Cottage Lake Park is a neighborhood gem type of park. It isn't BIG, so it isn't worth a drive just to see it. But if you are nearby, stopping by for a stroll is recommended. On the park's property are also several sponsored YMCA activities, but those were closed during my visit.
The parking lot at the NW corner is reasonably sized. We easily found parking. We later found another lot on the SE corner, but it was blocked. Entering the park, we see a picnic area adjacent to the sports court. The sports court is a single space usable for basketball and tennis. Walking further, we find the dock to the lake. The water is murky with a few ducks. There weren't any motor boats on the lake, which made the lake feel serene. The lack of water movement also yielded some fantastic reflection photos. During the later hours, we saw several men setting up their equipment to fish.
A sizable playground is great for the kids. A short trail walk led to a second picnic area. The trail is a short loop walk with basic trees and wild growth. The walk is very well maintained and paved, even if not spectacular. The only "hazards" are tiny, speedy humans on bikes/trikes and yippee dogs claiming their territory. They added some excitement to a short stroll.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Feb 28, 2022
I really enjoy this park. I like the mix of open grass area, a nice trail to walk around, and of course the lake views.
Parking can get tight especially in the summer so I usually park in the lot closer to the Safeway as there's plenty spaces there.
There's bbq spaces, as well as a playground, so there's something for everyone.
Always some kind of lovely scenery whether you go in Winter or Summer which is nice.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 21, 2022
What a beautiful park. Decent space for a walk around. It has a very nice wooden path near the lake. Then the paved trail continues around the park. There are 2 kiosks for gatherings and some other tables around for picnics. Lots of ducks and birds around will make your visit very enjoyable!
There's a very nice playground with soft floor. Restrooms are conveniently beside it. It can get busy on weekends specially if there are kids parties but it makes it fun for little ones. Now problem with parking. There are 2 lots.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 194268558Sep 11, 2020
We love this park, we come here twice a week to walk and let our boys play while our daughter has cheer practice. The playground is awesome! They have a lake and a nice trail just to get out and get some fresh air. Plenty of space for them to ride their bikes and run around which is why we enjoy it a lot. Plenty of space for social distancing another reason why I like it. They also have a obstacle course thing that is closed now but I'm sure it's tons of fun when open!

I've driven past this park numerous times but this was my first visit. Not perfect but generally a great space. Sprawling, large playground appropriate for all ages of kids. Great visibility of all parts of the park so relatively easy to keep track of multiple children. Lots of picnic tables but the garbage cans were all over flowing and there was quite a bit of trash around. Large grassy space for playing ball. Bathrooms weren't bad but had run out of toilet paper. Short walking trail around perimeter of the park great for kids to practice biking.
The short comings of this park are a reflection of its popularity.... With a little more regular maintenance it would be a stellar place to spend an evening.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Lesley M.Renton, WA5610172May 12, 2019
Spend a few hours out on this lake, it was packed. The parking lot for the lake was packed, parked at the park side after unloading at the boat launch. It was a hot day and kids were all over the boat launch swimming. Not really a peaceful lake.... likely won't be using this as a fishing spot again. Tons of paddle boarders here. Facilities are old are dirty, trash full. They have picnic tables and people were bbqing.

We enjoyed the park. Nice view of the Lake, and a wonderful trail. The kids play area (age 2 to 5) is good compared to many other parks nearby.
