Vu's Custom Clothing & Alterations

Vu is super nice and friendly, but the place is a bit more expensive than other tailors I've been to, but I should have known by the area he is located. We got simple hemmed pant legs from him, and they cost $25 each, completed a week later. I had legs tapered in at a tailor in California for that same price. (Vu wanted to charge me $80 for pant leg tapering.) So he may be best for more expensive pieces where the higher charge makes sense, but for more simple tailoring, would recommend another place.

Went in asking how much to take in a dress-he did not answer me-he said it is not easy. I showed him another dress he said the gathering is not easy-it had no gathering! It was nothing difficult-taking in of a dress. I guess he doesn't take clients that ask how much?Went to Royal Tailor on Lemmon and Inwood-super friendly and said no problem and quoted me a very reasonable price-40

This place is incredible. I came in last minute for an urgent alteration on a dress for my engagement photos, he was noticeably busy with a few regular customers but that didn't matter, he welcomed me and was able to help me. I can't express enough how kind he was! I am super grateful! Bringing my fiancé back for a custom tux for our wedding!

I love Vu and his alterations. He was very transparent and helpful with alterations as I found him via Yelp and didn't know what to expect. He was super friendly and knowledgeable. He even mentioned brining in the sleeves in my jacket since my arms sadly didn't fill it out. I would def recommended him to anyone and his pricing is spot on and transparent when you initially come in.

Vu's is hands-down the best alterations I have ever received. Vu brilliantly redesigned two bridemaids dresses (one being for my sister's wedding so I was very selective) and both could not have ended up more perfect. The service you receive is amazing and Vu makes the process fun. I highly recommend and know you will be just as pleased as me. The turnaround time is so quick. All around such a lovely experience!!

Vu's has been my tailor for about 25 years. He offers very good quality, is personable, and extremely reliable. During the 25 years I have never been disappointed, and would highly recommend !!

I've been going to Vue for 6 years. I'm a petite but athletically built 5'2" girl and I have to get a lot tailored for my body type. Every college formal dress, every pair of pants and shorts worth tailoring I've brought to him. And every time the results are exactly what I had hoped for.

I always have to buy pants that fit on the legs/butt but are loose on my waist, and he tailors everything to my body size. It feels SO good to have clothes that are FLATTERING and fit me perfectly.

My cousin trusted her wedding dress alterations to Vu. Anything from durable tshirts and jeans, to delicate lace and intricately detailed pieces, Vu handles every alteration with great care.

And- hell even be honest if he thinks a piece isn't worth the alterations. One time I brought in a bodysuit I got off of ASOS and he knew right away the poor fabric quality wasn't worth my money for the alts. I was happy he advised me not to spend my money, as he believed the fabric wouldn't last more than a couple washes anyway.

Every time I go in he asks about my family, school, and tries to get to know me more each time.
Vu is the best. Hands down.

I needed a last minute wedding dress alteration - well, several - length change, sleeves shortened and tightened, and attached corset adjusted. Vu took about three minutes to get me pinned up, new exactly what needed to be done - I didn't even have to say a word! And I picked it up in three days!! It was perfect. Absolutely perfect. You can't even tell a single stitch was moved or removed, it fits like a glove. I'm so grateful. I'll be sending my new husband here for all of his suit and tailoring needs.

If you're looking for a tailor in DFW - make the drive to VU's tailoring. Worth it.

I decided to try Chu Vu's shop upon reading the great reviews on here and I'm glad I chose to do so! I was not only pleased with his tailor work with my pants but also appreciated his customer service and friendliness. I highly recommend and will definitely be back!
