Bartender Donna was an Absolute Savagette
Not Only did she make my very First Georgia experience a one that I'll Never Forget, but she brought back Golden Memories of my Mother from
The way that she worked the Entire Bar herself, as well as 4 Tables Behind Us!!!
I'll tell you this, as an Active Duty Service Member, it's rare to see people busting tail out here, and to see this in action from a different Field of Fire, it Re-inspired meHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 8661141707Apr 9, 20241 check-in
Ordered the empanada sampler which came with beef and chicken. Ordered a bahama mamma. Menu is a scan code. Food has listed prices but drinks do not.
Had a layover so we stored here. The empanadas had good flavor. Crust was fluffy, crispy and delicious. I do wish there was more filling. Had two big bites with no meat.
Drinks are STRONG. Zero complaints here! Overall. Really good experience for both of us. Definitely recommend stopping here to relax as you wait for Your flight.
The two sauces that come with the empanadas are bomb!! The light green one is a habanero mango sauce and it's ssoooo good! The other one was more like a garlic ranch to me. Not bad either.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - 375143118442Jan 28, 2024
I have to preface this review by saying I was born in Miami, Florida and know Cuban food well. My ancestry is Cuban. I ate and have continued to eat Cuban food my entire life. So, I was excited when I was walking through ATL airport and saw Papi's Cuban & Caribbean Cafe! I wanted a good Cuban breakfast, which sadly I did not get.
I walked in, kinda a bit chaotic but I think a lot of airport restaurants are like that. Its busy, people need to get to place. I get that. Still, I was confused being in here. There There is a bar area, there is a counter/place to put in order and so I made a line at the counter with others thinking you order your food then sit... that was before I was told a waitress would serve me? So i made the line for no reason? I think there needs to be a hostess of some kind to stop that confusion.
The restaurant is overall comfortable and it has a Caribbean vibe to it kind of, if it was smack dab in a busy airport but thats no fault of the restaurant. The service overall is good. Get a feeling the staff is overwhelmed, the place fills up and I do not believe they have the people to handle it. One of the other tables complained they had been sitting there for a long time and no one got their order. Seems there had been confusion as well as to who was handling that table.
I ordered the breakfast combo classic, eggs, bacon, cuban toast, with breakfast potatoes. I was thoroughly disappointed they could not make me a cafe con leche because the machine was out. So I got some coffee, which was flavorless and weak even for airport coffee. The food was relatively decent, but the cuban toast was doughy and not as warm as it should be. Thats not right, it needs to be flattened, rich, delicious and warm.
Essentially the breakfast tasted and felt more like an American style breakfast with the inclusion of Cuban bread that was not done correctly. No cuban coffee was a problem. What about other Cuban delicacies? Pastelito? Croquetta? No?
Ultimately, a disappointing experience.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Apr 24, 20241 check-in
I have passed this place so many times and never had the opportunity to stop. Sit at or near the bar for the best service. I noticed people in the rear didn't get good service. There was a great bartender who said he worked on Friday nights (but happened to be there on a Tuesday). He could keep up with everyone. I think this made our experience. We had drinks (absolutely wonderful) and got the food to go. The food smelled so good it was hard to wait till we got on the airplane. However the taste was a bit bland and dry. I was surprised. We ended up not even eating it all. Perhaps drinks and apps next time?

Not frills luncheon type spot with a decent amount of items on the menu. Definitely some missing tiles on the ceiling. Luckily, anything grilled is gluten free according to the staff so I had some options. I ordered the shrimp with yellow rice and plantains. The shrimp were a little salty but well cooked and the plantains were very sweet. The dish could have used some freshness like a side salad or salsa.

Stopped here on a layover. I'm not a fan of how long it took to get seated (no one was at the front) and order, given that it's an airport and people are often in a time crunch.
But the waitress I had was super quick once I did order. I had the shrimp tostones with no cheese and no white sauce. It was pretty good. I wish the tostones were slightly less oily but it was fine to get the job done. The shrimp was well seasoned and the food came out relatively fast.
I would come back if I had to. Like, I wouldn't choose to starve if it was my only option.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Feb 20, 2024
A quick bite to eat on layover in Atlanta airport turned into one of the best meals I had on vacay to Florida! Cuban plump Shrimp tacos with an outstanding spicy sauce. I ate all three huge tacos and my lips are on fire. LOVED the ! Prompt service had me right on time to board my flight. Papi's Cuban and Caribbean Grill gets a 10 from me!

Breakfast on a Saturday morning. Chicken sausage, egg scramble w green sauce was tasty. Plantains are sweet. Friendly service. A sign stating "seat yourself for dine-in" might help some frazzled travelers per other reviews. Overall I recommend.

Decided to stop here during my 2+ hour layover and so glad I did! Although my flight was leaving in terminal T, I almost decided to browse for somewhere to eat in terminal A since it's bigger, but this was like a little hidden gem meant to be.
It looks pretty unassuming from the outside, but the food and drinks are well worth it. Service at the bar was great, and everything was so delicious. I don't live in the area and have oddly been craving jerk chicken, and the jerk chicken bowl did NOT disappoint.
Honestly some of the best airport food I've had, and prices are not ridiculous. If you're in terminal T or have enough time to kill to come down this way, definitely try out this place!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Michael K.Arlington, VA249224Apr 14, 2024
Some of the laziest people ever. Ethan just wanted to talk to the other employees instead of serving people. Then he refused to make coffee saying "there's nothing I'm gonna do"
