By far the most welcoming, caring church I have ever been to. When we moved from out of state, I reached out prior to our move to see if the church could connect us with some families that had children of the same age/stage as ours. We made connections and quickly became part of a community group. This church welcomed my family with open arms and supported us, every step of the way. The worship is top notch, the kids ministry is stellar, and the overall teaching staff is phenomenal. Way to go WCC!

We love this church family!! Best community we've ever had and the new pastor and his family are amazing and so faithful, joining and leading during this tough season! We are extremely thankful for WCC!

Willamette is decent. The auditorium is humble, yet nice. The pastor is a great speaker. He is engaging, reads from the bible throughout the sermon and encourages the congregation to open the bible (hard to believe, everyone is so tech biased these days). They have three weekend services so it's convenient for you to attend. They don't beg for money three times in one service (like I have seen at some) but have donation boxes set up so that you don't feel put on the spot and can give freely as you wish.
EDIT 12/9/2014- I still like Willamette but I think they are afraid to shake things up a bit. It seems to me that they need to provide more direction and not be afraid to tell it like it is. There are things that Christians should be doing and should NOT be doing and it seems like they are afraid to spell them out. The pastor says things like "we should be careful about what websites we're visiting" and then moves along. Jesus wasn't dancing around the issues and neither should we...just sayin'.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Frist L.San Diego, CA05Nov 10, 2019
We went to this church for about 4 years. We are vert tolerant, but it steadily declined. It became very political and white shaming (to a congregation 99.9% white)-We are quite confident that the people attending try their best to live the Christian life and didn't need to be white shamed. Our purpose in going to church was not to be indoctrinated in a political ideology but to learn about God, to be in community with other worshipers, and to strengthen our faith--not our political views. Unknown to the church, we support Trump and we felt as though we were being told we are "deplorables" from the pulpit. It's too bad, the church was convenient, the people were outwardly very friendly, but we do not understand how the congregation can continue to seek their religious connection to God through this church. We've stopped attending and that's upsetting because it has discouraged us from finding another church. You are hearing and witnessing frustration because we liked this church and the sermons, but felt as though we didn't belong because of the politics injected into almost every aspect of the service. Only the worship was not politicized.

Been going here two months now, and feel like we've finally found our home. LOVE everything about WCC. The people are really friendly, the music is great, they love kids and the kids programs are awesome, and every time I hear a sermon here it outdoes the last one. Every time a pastor here speaks, I can't stop listening. This place is just fantastic, thank you!!!

Great place. We've been looking for a church that didn't feel too churchy. We love that the pastors are all comfortable to be the goofballs they are, that's a really good sign of a healthy church!

What Happened to my church? I've been a member of the community for 3 years and I'm concerned because I feel like God has left the building in this church. It's starting to sound and feel like a secular and political organization. What I mean by this is the church leadership suddenly is a totally different church.Or is it even a church-- My kids are leaving Sunday school feeling like the message is that white kids are somehow bad, and their christian faith is not the real basis of church any longer! I have a suspicion the motivation for the surprising messages has to do with funding sources that are not necessarily any thing to do with God. We're going to look into this. Did the church merger with BCC put this into motion? If so, please so state to the community -- what is your church doctrine -- because we have seen a lot of change. I feel your members deserve to know what they are supporting. Your church, formerly my church, is very aggressive about tithing, we've given a lot of money to the church. Sorry J.B., the church does pass a basket and pressures its members with guilt. Every time I've been to service, there is always a focus on money and growing the church. Even though Administration thinks they're being subtle, it's subtle but gentle guilt. Some of my more kind and naive friends feel guilted into giving large amounts of money, as did we. No more from us.. I do agree with JB when he states the church seems uncomfortable in some ways with their own direction and then dogmatic and inflexible in other ways. We don't feel Christ is any long the assumed basis of the church, but rather subtle other religions are creeping in and taking over the assumed Christ focus and the reason many of us are there. There is suddenly an obvious political tilt and a message that if members don't "think the right way" we may be out of sync with our own church, or more accurately, out of sync with the new "you". Please publicly clarify to the community and your members what your new church mission is; what your new philosophy is; If you feel you have changed the mission in the last year - from a church that is Christ based to a church that is politically based, which we feel you definitely have -- but why have you made this change? Especially in the last few months the message I hear is toxic and uncomfortable. We are not the only family to have to leave this church. We have thought about asking for a meeting with leadership, but feel it's too late. Is your tax status safe? Are you still a Christian church? Who is your new leadership and how do you feel their philosophy is different to years past? Heads Up community of West Linn-- Let's not be naive about matters of faith. Ask the right questions and seek clarification. I hope other members will think about what we've shared here and their experiences and ask themselves if they understand the direction the Church is going or if its a few leaders making changes that only they understand.

We love this church! The staff is great, the pastor is engaging and fun to listen to, the music is awesome, and people just seem to go out of their way to make you feel welcome. We've been attending for more than two years now, and couldn't be happier!
