HiHo is the only burger restaurant that exclusively serves 100% grass-fed Wagyu beef. Grass-fed Wagyu combines the clean taste of grass with the rich marbling of Wagyu (the breed of cattle famous for producing Kobe beef). Together they form a beef like no other. It's been described as juicy, tender and sweet. According to The Wall Street Journal's* article about the best tasting beef, "If you should find grass-fed Wagyu, buy it." Our Wagyu beef comes from New Zealand, where we have an exclusive partnership with First Light Farms, a collective of 85 farmers who are dedicated to sustainable farming. Our cattle live in open pastures and only eat grass. No grain finishing. No feed-lots. It is Certified Humane¬, sustainably raised, and Halal.

Loved this place!!
The food is off the hook delicious and I would love to go back.
Literally everything I tried was great.
Not a waygu aficionado by any stretch of the imagination, but wow!
I think it was the cooking style even more than the cut of beef.
Everyone was incredibly nice that worked there.
And the music was so nice too.
Relaxing and casual.
Go forth and enjoy!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 3, 2024
I loved my burger at HiHo! I got the Big Matty, which has "Matty sauce" (their version of thousand island). I thought the burger was the perfect size and it was sooo good, which I expected - I love this restaurant group (HiHo is also under the same umbrella as Sugarfish, Matu, Uovo, and Kazunori).
I wasn't absolutely in love with the fries. They're hand cut, which I love, but they're just a bit too thick for my liking. I would prefer skinnier fries, so if HiHo offered those, I'd rave about them!Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sebastian R.Los Angeles, CA2414519Apr 25, 2024
Strongly consider this spot for the next time you are craving a burger, fries, and some Santa Monica sunshine.
Too many pros too list and just one con I can think of which is the parking but if you are familiar with Santa Monica you are used to it.
On the pros, the meat had a premium flavor, fries were crispy and flavorful, and the service was top notch. The right amount of helpfulness. Cost was reasonable as well for 2024 prices.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 14, 2024
I was looking for a place in Santa Monica to satisfy my craving for a good burger and I came across Hiho on Yelp. Boy! Oh Boy! I was not disappointed.
They specialize in wagyu burgers. Their burgers are 100% grass-fed wagyu beef. Nowadays, it seems like every place advertises wagyu burgers on their menu.
Hiho does wagyu justice. I ordered The Big Matty and it was one of the better burgers I've had in long time. The flavor was on point. The patty was seasoned perfectly and flavor of the onions along with the sauce made it a very satisfyingHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 6, 2024
The hype is very well deserved. The patty is the star of the show - New Zealand Wagyu Beef, the quality of fat / au jus that render off the burger as you bite into it, it's almost impossible to describe how luxurious it is : it turns your hands into silk scarfs, incredibly decadent yet no non sense burger. Perhaps the very best cheeseburger I've had to date.

Cool vibe super close to the Santa Monica pier. The burger was amazing! You can tell the beef is a higher quality and the sautéed onions and burger sauce along with the cheese came together to create an incredible and juicy burger. The bun was decent, but a great bun would have pushed this into a top 3 burger I have ever had. The loaded fries were great too!

Wagyu burgers and vegetarian options are available at this fast casual spot. It's a no-tipping establishment and there is a 16% service charge. Credit cards only (no cash accepted). Parking lot is available across with 90 minutes free. You order at the counter and then will receive a number. There are vegetarian options available.
I got a vegetarian burger with fries and a Varlhona chocolate milkshake. Portions are smaller than what you may expect but the quality is better. I especially like the squishiness of the bun. The chocolate shake wasn't as rich as I'd like but the texture was creamy and thick. The four of us had just finished a hike so we needed a hearty meal. Overall, it is a casual spot that's good if you're trying to have a good quality, quick meal.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 1Nov 11, 2019Previous reviewGrass-fed wagyu beef burgers and fries. It's part of the same restaurant family as KazuNori and Uovo (so no tipping but there's a 16% fee tacked on). You pay at the counter and then you can get your food to go or you get a number and pick an available table. There's also a soda fountain with water on the side, and bathrooms are available. The menu is limited but I really like the double HiHo cheeseburger (the onion jam is awesome). The bun is soft and the patty is juicy. You can add fries on the side and it'll be a super filling meal. There's also shakes which are small but also really thick (I like the chocolate). During DineLA there's sometimes a lunch deal where you can get a triple cheeseburger, fries, and milkshake or pie for $15. Otherwise it's pretty reasonably priced for what you'd find in LA. The key lime pie has a crumbly graham cracker crust but you don't need to go out of your way to get it. There's a veggie burger option available as well and it's also a good alternative when you don't want something as heavy. There's bathrooms available in the back and parking is difficult, so I suggest parking in one of the parking garages with the first 90 min free. They do take credit card and there's no WiFi. Overall it's a casual but cool place to grab some high quality burgers.

Solid burger/beer combo with a view.
We found ourselves in Marina del Rey, and found this cheeseburger spot on yelp. We decided to walk up and be the first customers when they opened. They have a very streamlined menu, and you don't need to overthink it, go with the hiho double, and grab a beer if that is something you are into.
The seating is outside and gives a beautiful view over the harbor. The service was very fast, they bring your food right to your table, and the manager came up to make sure everything was OK. Talk to your service from a casual dining restaurant.
Oh, and cough up the extra for the ranch with fries! You won't be disappointed.Helpful 4Thanks 2Love this 2Oh no 0
