This is where you go when you need love and support without judgement. This is where you can go when your broken, lost, confused, angry, all the feelings and they will welcome you right in!
The motto here is "it's okay to not be okay" and they mean it here. If you need Jesus He's definitely here.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Janell J.San Francisco, CA0163Jan 18, 2024
Recently our family had a person stalking us at this church. There was a verbal attack from this person as well. When we informed the church, the lead Pastor informed us it was best we attend a different service than this particular person to avoid conflict. After attending the Christmas Tree lighting service she again was stalking us. Next thing you know the church informed us security was asking us not be on campus.
We are so baffled. I emailed the staff, called and even met with the staff. Still no answers as to why. This feels very hurtful. We have attended this church for almost a year. We have friends there. Just not in agreement with not including everyone in this equation. Why would they side with the aggressor? We are out church shopping now. So sad.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 1 - Jan L.Sherwood, OR1172Jan 15, 2024
A gentleman in his 50's, having attended Hope City Church since its origin in a grade school, having assisted in its construction, having brought many others to church, was excommunicated by letter December 15, 2023, but not told why. The man is kind, thoughtful and longing for God's guidance in his life and the lives of others. The method, timing and lack of scriptural application or prayer is disturbing. Where is the HOPE?

In my experience with Hope City Church (Milwaukie) I have noticed a significant decline in membership & services.
Too many different guest speakers. In the past 1.5 yrs I have only heard the new lead Pastor speak 4-5 times.
The youth program is regularly canceled and now down to about 2-5 kids? When there once was so many more.
Lastly, to my surprise, I witnessed their lead Pastor shouting at someone and not offering prayer when asked.
My belief and witness is that this Lead Pastor/ church is not biblically sound?
Kind Regards.Helpful 2Thanks 2Love this 0Oh no 2 - Crystal A.Portland, OR74311Feb 21, 2018First to Review
I love that this church meets in a school (Ardenwald Elementary)! It's a really fun, supportive, and welcoming environment. They are committed to sharing God's message of loving Him and each other. It's been almost 2 years now and I am so happy I found it!
