My first ever review!
Decided to get some BBQ nachos for pick up. Ordered through the website and set pickup for 5:10pm. Got to the restaurant promptly at 5:10. Giving some grace, I know i would naturally have to wait a bit even after the pick up time for it being a Saturday night and fairly busy inside. The young lady taking orders said it wasn't ready yet but she would let somebody know I'm here. As i stand and wait, after about 15min, while the young lady is busy taking orders I go up to a different worker (short, bald male) who was behind bar that I had been observing. I decided to go up to him because he wasn't doing much while I waited for the 15min. He was at the POS system most of the time and went and wiped down 2 tables, i didn't see him interact with any customers other than a table of some people he knew cause he went and rubbed a females shoulders for a few seconds and said hi. (stating all this to let ya know he wasn't doing a damn thing.) Walked up to him and let him know I had a to go order. He looked over his POS system on his tippy toes across the restaurant and just stated "I don't see them." OK.... Ya, I know you don't. Maybe go check for me?? But no, he just stood there. I didn't say anything after he made his statement and decided to continue to wait. After another substantial wait time, again me continuing to just stand by the main ordering counter. They young lady finally got a slight break and said she would check on the order in the back. She brings out the order and on the ticket attached to the plastic bag was time stamped for 5:10. I got the food in my hand at 5:44. Stood by counter for 35min before anyone thought to maybe check the kitchen. Frustrated in the customer service from the short bald bartender to not even take a glance in the kitchen and to just state the obvious answer I already knew. I Shouldn't have to ask him to go check for me- and I didn't. As the sweet young lady at the front desk handed me my order she apologized twice and said on the way out I can grab a desert from the basket on the order counter since it took so long. It was a sweet gesture and I did take a brownie. Nothing like a nice consolation prize of a 3 day old desert!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ramona H.San Francisco, CA01Apr 22, 2024
They have the absolute best bbq you will ever put to your lips. The service is great and make you feel very comfortable. David is a wonderful, personable bartender. We thank central for taking such great care of us.

Half price food on Tuesdays!
The food here is always delicious. This is the first time I've visited on a Tuesday. And it seems to be the very best day because Wings, Beer, Sliders, and Tacos are all basically half price.
I had 4 wings (they're whole wings, smoked and coated with delicious sauce) and 3 pork sliders with slaw and hot sauce. Delicious!
The lady who took our order was super helpful and friendly. There is lots of indoor seating and windows, so the atmosphere is warm and inviting.
Delicious barbecue. I highly recommend.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Andy B.Nashville, TN2027680Apr 9, 2024
I've been to Central BBQ in Memphis. It is an exceptional experience! An institution.
I've been to Central BBQ in Hillsboro Village twice and have been equally disappointed both times. Normally if I don't care for a restaurant, I just don't review it. But I'm making an exception.
The first time I went I had the ribs. They were tough, I didn't even finish them. Ribs should fall off the bone. These did not. They were not tender. Just a bad experience.
Today, I ordered the brisket plate. The brisket was fatty. I picked around it and finished it. I ordered the onion rings and green beans for sides. The onion rings were fine, but the green beans were not remotely what I'm accustomed to in the south.
The service was fine. The ambiance was generic. Honestly, if the food is good, I don't care what the ambiance is. I won't be back. I can go to Martin's in Nolensville if I want good BBQ.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 18, 20241 check-in
Needed a quick lunch while attending a conference, this place was close, and it worked out great! It was just me, so not a lot of variety, but I did enjoy my pulled pork sandwich and my Nashville lager beer. Service was friendly and quick, sandwich was really good.not sure why some of the reviews were so-so here, but I had a good experience and would recommend.

I stopped in here last month while meeting up with some friends and it was a decent meal overall. You order food at the counter and they bring you your food (like a lot of places in Nashville) and you have to order any alcoholic drinks at the bar. I got a brisket sandwich with coleslaw and wanted to try one wing, so I got one with jerk spice rub. The brisket sandwich was pretty tasty overall; the brisket had great texture and the BBQ sauce was good. The coleslaw was also good and it complimented the sandwich. The texture on the wing was very good, but the jerk spice rub was insanely salty and I wouldn't get that again by any means. They seemed a bit short staffed when we came and there was no one behind the bar, so I didn't end up having a beer with the meal, which was a shame as they would have gone well together. I'd say it's a 3.5 overall, but I'll round up as the sandwich was good and we came for the BBQ and I would come back and eat here again.

This restaurant opens at 11, so you can go in before the big lunch rush. The times I've been here, I've been treated with the utmost respect. It's very noticeable how respectful the employees are.
The food servings are of a good portion. Today, I tried an order of fries to share, chicken nachos, and sausage. I also added two bread rolls and two fountain drinks. The bread rolls are good, the nachos were crunchy, and the sausage is delectable. My wife particularly liked the sweet tea. I'm not particularly big on BBQ sauces, so I can't comment on those. What I can tell you is that I enjoyed the food without adding any additional sauces.
Here, you can order food by the plate or by the pound. They have a 3 meat combo which is great if you want to try different meats in one sitting. The pieces do seem to encourage you to order more, as I find the smaller plates are about pricy. However, if you came to eat a lot and with friends, then the bigger plates seemed appropriately priced.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Angela M.Bensenville, IL166373Feb 12, 2024
Jessi was our bartender and she was phenomenal great service and super personable. She's very easy to talk to and knowledgeable. It was our first time there but she made us feel like regulars. The food is just as amazing as Jessi. There's a great sauce selection. The pulled pork was delicious and the bologna was smoked to perfection.

Was greeted as soon as I walked in. Sa at the bar - at 2 pm it was pretty empty. Bartender gave me samples of beer since no draft was familiar Good draft stout/porter was the choice. Chose pulled pork sandwich with side of fries. Pork was okay, hot sauce not real hot, cole slaw was tasty. Fries were hot, needed to be a little crisper. I'll revisit next time I am in town.
