Such a cute coffee shop. It was very busy. A line out the door but they move fast. The pastries are very tasty, fresh and served warm.

Support the Wydown's workers by holding fast and fair election! Their union must be recognized as soon as possible!

I come to Wydown quite literally every day, and am consistently met with the highest level of customer service, care, attentiveness and comradery. With that said, I fully back and support the Wydown Workers United, and hope that they will see success soon in their current bid

Got my coffee from Wydown this morning. In the 5 minutes I was there, the staff was warm, greeted no less than 3 regulars by name, and helped 2 people through their questions. Their iced cinnamon oat latte is my favorite in DC and was made to perfection.
I support Wydown Workers United and sincerely hope their organizing efforts are successful.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - May 4, 20241 check-in
Stopped by on a rainy day after hearing nothing but great things about the Wydown, and was pleasantly surprised with the coffee! I ordered an iced latte with cinnamon syrup, and it was very nicely balanced with the milk to espresso ratio. The cinnamon syrup was subtle and not too overwhelming and added a nice sweetness to the drink.
It's a smaller space with limited seating, but has a cozy and homey ambiance. Staff is pretty friendly, wait times for drink were a little slow but not unbearable. Can't wait to be back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 19, 2024
Even when it's a snowy winter day I'll always be an iced coffee girly. This was one of the first coffee shops i went to when I moved to DC and it has never disappointed.
It's cozy and clean and the baristas are super kind. The baked goods are amazing- not usually a scone girl but I will make an exception for here. Their cherry almond scone is *chefs kiss*. Extra great if you stop by early when they're warm.
The coffee is great. I usually get some type of iced latte. Today was vanilla but when they have lavender available I always for for that.
This will always be a go-to.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 1 - 492216May 8, 2024
first time @ the Wydown coffee bar so I ordered off their menu and opted for the iced cinnamon oat latte -- which I REALLY wanted to like, but unfortunately, it tasted watered down and was wayy too icey (I took some out once I got home)

Great place! I accidentally ordered a gluten free brownie and it was delicious! Service is great and I like the music.

Stopped by yesterday for some caffeine and snacks after brunch. Having some stomach issues, I forwent a coffee/espresso drink and decided to try the Sencha Tea. Husband got his Latte with Oat milk. The baked goods display looked inviting. It was hard to choose so I got a chocolate chip cookie and a blueberry scone.
The Sencha tea was very smooth and had a good taste. It came in a very generous tea bag that looked almost like a double. The chocolate chip cookie was good, too. While it didn't stand out as a favorite, I would buy it again. Scones are a tricky subject. The American style scones are usually pretty sweet vs the traditional English scone. I prefer the latter when having a regular scone with afternoon tea. But this time I was expecting a slight sweetness to go with the blueberries. I found the scone tasting more like a biscuit in texture. It did have a bit of a sweet topping. Found myself wishing it was a little sweeter.
Regretting I didn't try their coffee, I went back today to get their Americano. It did not disappoint. It was smooth with a nice roast-y flavor. It has a medium roast profile. No bitterness or sourness. Husband liked his latte with oat milk yesterday and got another one this morning. Yesterday, the peach and ginger scone kept calling my name so I ordered one this morning. Again, didn't have the bit of added sweetness I was looking for. With that said, these would prob be good with some jam or clotted cream.
The shop has a decent space. It opens up a little bit in the rear. There's a communal table in the front. It's a quiet and comfortable space. Service was friendly. They have the usual set up where you can add milk to your coffee. They also have postcards and a drop off jar and a sign stating they'll mail your postcard for free. It's a very kind gesture and unexpected details like this that elevates an experience.
Would definitely come back for coffee/espresso drinks.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Aug 24, 2023
Really great coffee shop on 14th street. I like their coffee as well as the scones and cinnamon roll (only on weekends). The scones are buttery soft and come in both sweet and savory flavors. As a cinnamon roll fanatic, I can't forgo any chance to try a new one. This is a textbook one - a good amount of frosting (on the sweeter side), fluffy dough with no dry spots, and good cinnamon flavor. Nothing special but overall good.
The staff are always sweet and welcoming. The space is wonderful but usually quite full - if you want a table, go early.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kat B.Tyler, TX1273May 5, 2024
The space was decently sized but it seemed hard to find seating. The coffee wasn't bad but my latte was mild and bland. I was extremely excited for the homemade syrup but wasn't really wowed. My husband got a chai which tasted more like milk. The pastries were exceptional though. Both their regular and gluten free were delicious. Please note: they do not have WiFi.
