Dumpy dive bar restaurant, bar counter was sticky, food was ok, I wouldn't go go back

My friends and I visited Brick House yesterday night for karaoke, and it was an absolute blast. We arrived around 9 pm, and while there weren't many people, they eventually came later. The drinks were delicious: I ordered two green tea shots and a vodka cran, with the lovely bartender Scotty serving me. Then I asked for a suprise shot, to which he made a grape gatorade and a blue gatorade. Both were great. The vibes were wonderful, everyone seemed to be having fun. The bartenders are so friendly, the prices were fair and the karaoke DJ was a treat! There is also a pool table, which is a dollar per play. Fun little dive bar, and definitely not what I expected. We will return soon.

Stopped in for a quick happy hour for some bar food and some easy beers. I wasn't expecting much but I was pleasantly surprised. Brick House is located in a strip mall next to a Chinese buffet restaurant. Brick House is a solid dive bar with some solid food and happy hour choices. To start, I got the boneless Buffalo tenders (mild) and fried pickles. The tenders are more like larger chicken nuggets and the fried pickles were seasoned perfectly. Both were delicious and were on the happy hour menu. For dinner, I had the Steakhouse Burger which was grilled to perfection and was topped with A1 steak house, sautéed onions and mushrooms, and Munster cheese. It was absolutely delicious and served with fries. Overall, I'd definitely come back to try more food (and definitely more beers).

Very friendly staff, everyone. But they do need a happy hour, specially on
Wednesdays. Very busy after the karaoke man gets there, but before that very boring, they definitely need a happy hour, good for the customers and the bartendersHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1May 8, 2016Previous reviewUse to go there a lot, bartenders are very friendly, but the owner raised the price, and everyone that I knew stopped going there, so I stopped going. Way overpriced

Meal included an odd tasting cheeseburger and below average apps. Very good service and bar however but not for food.
After reading mostly positive reviews about this place I choose to eat here over many large chain eateries. So I'm writing this review to set the record straight... I don't recommend eating here. My cheeseburger tasted "odd." Like an expired frozen burger. I was worried I might get ill but was so hungry I ate it.
My group ordered fish tacos, cheesesteak egg rolls and buffalo chicken for apps. Everything tasted like it was frozen. The tacos and egg rolls were very deep fried. Nothing tasted fresh and the apps were below average.
On a positive note the place was clean and service was excellent. The bar looked great for grabbing a drink and watching the game.
But if you're looking for a meal, I suggest looking elsewhere.Helpful 16Thanks 0Love this 14Oh no 1 - Herman F.NJ, NJ017Mar 25, 2023
Service was decent but food and apps were lukewarm after seeing such high reviews I was expecting food to be better

good food, good drinks, great service. would recommend for a fantastic burger and fries. i would pass on the fried pickles. there are no servers, only bartenders that check on those seated and bring out the food and drink so plan on coming here for a conversation and not a quick bite. i will be coming back for karaoke night!

The Bartender "Scotty" might be a professional life saver. The sweet server "Oliver" also, saved me from a mental breakdown. You should go here if you frequently travel from Philly to South Jersey. Great pit stop.

1st off I would like to say it's not disgusting so I would have to disagree with one Yelper
BUTIt's a Friday, They have good specials,
House band (they sound good) but it's empty.
It's only 8:00pm I guess it will fill up later.
Started with the pickle chips ( the wife loves them) not bad. Hard to mess up pickle chip, but they are good.
Had to wait for my beer though so they may have lost 1/2 a star for that :(
My wife liked the House Cosmo.
Brick house Burger was good, yet a little on the greasy side ( who am I kidding I love me a greasy Berger ) more napkins the better. I think my wife liked her salad because she ate most of it, but when I asked her I couldn't hear her over the band.
I'm going with okey and we will come back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
